Large stomach

Advice needed
Over the last 6 months my stomach has grown bigger and bigger like I am pregnant , I eat and exercise well but it’s growing..
Gp has referred me to gastro which will take 2 years to be seen .. but I worry it will be much larger by then ?
Any advice greatful . Should I call my gp again !

Glad you are being sent for a scan on yr ovaries. I hope that is soon.

@HealthworriesNC have they told u how long the wait is with gastro ? Mine is 2 years but sending another urgent letter .. my gp said still wait for gastro but in the meantime have the pelvic ultrasound and if it's ovaries or gynae then no need for gastro but he said might as well get ball rolling on both .. I think your gp needs to do this with u x

@BruiserWoods thank you .. the gp today was the best yet and I think the photos made them realise how bad it was .. I'm so glad I did it now .. thanks to all you lovely people x

@HealthworriesNC fingers crossed you should hopefully hear in the next 7 days .. and then you get an answer ., my gp today said between 2 and 4 weeks wait at the moment .. I hope it's more 2 but we'll see .. I'm just growing by the day and I feel sick with worry ..but busy working is keeping me going x keep in touch with ur journey x

@HealthworriesNC I know exactly what you mean .. even my baggy t shirts arnt baggy anymore it's really hard to hide x

Yes it did look similar only much worse. I was huge. It was hard and rounded like that. Kind of like a beer belly

@HealthworriesNC at least we would know what was wrong .. imagine us both giving birth at the same time

@cultkid I still have had no scan date .. but I've had my CA125 blocs taken .. awaiting results .. I'm feeling awful .. don't feel very well and growing by the day .. thank u for asking x

When I had this it turned out to be a massive ovarian cyst. Was the size of a watermelon when they removed it. Couldn't walk far by the end, wasn't pleasant and I have a scar on my tummy but aside from that all was OK.

@Welshandpro I have had two friends who presented with a very similar stomach to you and they were similar age to you, they both had advanced bowel cancer and are both dead now, please please get seen, I don't want to frighten you. Have you had any changes in bowel habit? The swelling is ascites, their bellies were full of fluid and they looked pregnant. I'm so sorry this is happening to you, why aren't your doctors putting you on the two week fast track?

@MissSmiley the referral was sent off on Tuesday .. I've phoned the hospital and they have received it and just waiting a date .. although I'm looking at about 4 weeks wait .. I haven't had any bowel changes .. the symptoms I have is the swollen abdomen which is growing and I'm passing urine frequently and pain in my lower stomach / pelvis .. it's so horrible as I still have no answers to what it is and gastro have only got me on the routine waiting list .. I'm really sorry to hear about ur friends .. just awful

Understand this the state does not care if we are ill now there's too many of us. This is a worldwide attitude

Could this be fibroids? They can grow as big as melons but are harmless, other than heavy periods.

@welshandpro yes it did to begin with, when I had my op I measured as though I was 33 weeks pregnant.

@Animood it could be .. at the moment i just don't know what it but could be a few things x

@HealthworriesNC please don't give up .. it's so bad that they didn't process the referral when they were meant to but please persevere like me x
