Sorry her name was twitterqueen1 and you can find her first thread here

I know, my gp clinic is equally as impersonal. never see the same gp twice. But try this, pretend you're seeing an Irish GP! Pretend you're paying 50 euro for the appointment! I'm not particularly assertive myself but when you pay 50 euro for an appointment, you don't stand up 'til they're sending the email to the hospital right there in front of you.

If I'm genuinely reassured by what they say, obviously that's one thing, but if I still have doubts, I don't stand up and leave til that email is sent.

I would emphasise the pains when speaking to doc.

justasking111 · 07/11/2021 20:21

I would suggest that you send an email to the surgery detailing your symptoms add the photos , explain that you haven't seen a doctor since June and you are very concerned

I’m in a similar situation , have you had a internal ultra scan yet?

cinders222 · 08/11/2021 04:02

I had an Overian Cyst that looked like a huge pregnant belly, I looked full term with twins. When I eventually got surgery to remove , it was 27 litres of fluid and about a foot in size. Its very rare but can grew to extreme size without rupturing.

Welshandpro · 08/11/2021 08:14

@Old22 no I haven't ..my gp has only referred me to gastro and not gynaecology .. I've had an ultrasound for the gallbladder but not anything else .. my gp hasn't seen my abdomen since June and as u can see by the photo it's grown quite a lot x

@cinders222 wow ! That's awful .. how are you now ? Have u seen the pics I have posted ? Does my abdomen look similar to yours ? I'm going for another blood test today and the IGA a few months ago was raised .. but they have only just told me about it Hmm

BruiserWoods · 08/11/2021 09:48

Go to a&e and say you have severe pain

Welshandpro · 08/11/2021 11:36

@cultkid the thing is I don't have severe pain I have on and off pain in my pelvis and I'm having to run quick to pass urine at times but as far as symptoms go that is it it's just my large abdomen that's worrying .. I can eat lots as I'm so full and it feels so heavy and just annoying x

I think at this point you have to say anything in order to get seen and examined properly. This fobbing off is unacceptable. My GP practice has been excellent throughout the last couple of years with phone appointments, email and online consults. Friends and neighbours at other surgeries have had a terrible time.
You need to be seen in person.
If they offer you an appointment with the practice nurse take it. The nurse will go and get the GP to come in and see you.

Welshandpro · 08/11/2021 11:51

This is my stomach today .. the shape is now changing .. if I don't get an answer from my gp by 2pm I'm going to a and e ? As I just feel the shape and look of it since June does not look right .. I wouldn't mind but I'm a good eater and if they tell me once more that it's my food intake I think I'll go mad Hmm

cultkid · 08/11/2021 11:52

You need to be seen so go and say you have severe pain so that someone doesn't ignore you and deliver at best negligent care

I would be beside myself and have been seen right away, just go to a&e
Ive just come back from wales I appreciate how remote it is but everyone needs to wait at home for you and help you whilst this is resolved

You need an appointment regardless

Can you go to a window to the womb type place and have a gynaecologist scan

we have private US centres here in Kent where I live

ChristmasGrogu · 08/11/2021 11:52

Can you afford a private consultant with a gynaecologist? You often don’t need a referral and can get in quick and they can refer you across to the NHS for any investigations.

HollowTalk · 08/11/2021 11:55

I would definitely want to be seen today, OP. I hope everything's OK.

ThePoetsWife · 08/11/2021 11:57

Get yourself to A&E - that needs looking at sooner rather than later.

Welshandpro · 08/11/2021 11:58

@ThePoetsWife does the photo look right to you ?

OP posts:
Welshandpro · 08/11/2021 11:59
