NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING SLIM FEELS

Morning all.
New thread for weigh in Friday.
Old one taking forever to load.

Was SO bad last night. Fancied a glass of Rose wine so bought a nice bottle thinking DH would have it with me. He didn't. I had it all. Whole bottle. Dinner was actually fine - steak, a sausage, salad and a piece of halloumi. But then I had a mini magnum. And then drunken hunger kicked in when DH and DS had gone to bed. Had a packet crisps. A cheese sandwich . And another sodding magnum .

However. The good news is that I weighed and still managed to lose. Only a pound but at least i lost.

Oh - and also considering this bag as it seems quite a bargain for real leather. My non-leather handbag has started to do that gross flaky thing in the heat.

QualityTime · 01/07/2010 09:27

Oh nice, well done you, that doesn't look very forgiving either!

Nice bag, if I get on this course I will need a nice new bag...

cocolepew · 01/07/2010 10:06

Buda, hoping things go well for your Dad x

Undertone · 01/07/2010 11:03

Yay QT - BAG SHOPPING!

I love bags, me.

DastardlyandSmugly · 01/07/2010 11:33

Buda best wishes to you and your dad.

Day 3 of the Shred last night. It's definitely getting easier. I find the first circuit the hardest then after that I can breathe a little easier. Wondering when to move onto Level 2.

Also anyone else who is doing it when did you being to see results on your body?

Had a reasonable day yesterday apart from the bag of crisps and choc bar I had at about 15:30. It's a danger time for me. Going to get some fruit at lunchtime to get me through it.

Themasterandmargaritas · 01/07/2010 12:39

Buda sorry to hear your worries for your Dad. My FIL had it some years back and it was sorted. Hopefully its the same for your Dad.

GOOD LUCK Qt tomorrow, you will make a great student.

Aitch .

dinkystinky · 01/07/2010 14:28

Aitch - good luck for the wedding!

Undertone - well done on the slinky new size 16 outfit.

Dastardly - if you're doing the advanced version on all the exercises and finding it easy, then its time to move onto level 2.

QT - poor DD2. Hope she's feeling better and you're getting some time to yourself to prepare and pack.

Aitch · 01/07/2010 17:40

oh FFS i have an abscess on my tooth adn have spent all day at dentist. Slightly Freaking Out and in terrible pain.

tibni · 01/07/2010 20:25

Oh no Aitch hope you feel better really quickly.

Undertone - wow on the 16, wear it with prode

Hope your daughter soon bounces back in the amazing way children can.

Well I pushed it at the gym - 30 min run, weights, bike and incline walking.

Food - oats for breakfast, banana and a couple of dry oakcakes then a treat dinner - mushroom omlette, grilled tomato and a few chips.

dinkystinky · 01/07/2010 20:37

Am joining Aitch in the FFS club. I have viral laryngitis, DS2 has another fricking ear infection meaning he is limpet boy (have finally managed to get him to go to sleep after an hour and half of screaming and know I have maybe an hour or so before it all starts again) and DH is out getting pissed at his firm's 10 year anniversary drinks and cant come home to help. Aargh.

Hope you feel better soon Aitch. Have they given you killer drugs to zap the abscess with?

Aitch · 01/07/2010 21:18

oh you poor thing, how miserable. ear infections my speciality. warm air from a hairdryer strangely soothing, sleeping yucky ear down on a hot water bottle wrapped in a blanket also a must. if he can't bear ear to touch anything get him to put his fist under the pillow and kinda bear skull weight with that.

i stink of clove oil and am off my head on painkillers, pray that the anti-bs kick in.

dinkystinky · 01/07/2010 21:22

Cheers Aitch - you're a life saver. I think I know where our hot water bottle is currently lurking so will be dragging that upstairs with me shortly. Am currently having a medicinal glass of red wine for my larynx (and to steel me for the night to come).

Here's a tip for you - Anbesol ointment (can get from pharmacy) - we use it on DS2 for teething for molars and is brilliant stuff as totally numbs the area (antiseptic and anaesthetic). If the pain is getting too much for you despite the clove oil, painkillers and ABs its worth a go too. DH has used it on bad toothache himself before and swears it is miraculous.

Aitch · 01/07/2010 21:29

ah, no anbesol in house and flying at 7am tomoz, but will try our boots version.
i get ear infections and now swear by dripping tea tree oil into ear. might be a bit strong for a kid though so dilute in carrier oil. swear to god this kills ear infs faster than anti bs. and i speak as someone who has had morphine and five day hosp stays for these things.

dinkystinky · 02/07/2010 07:54

Thanks Aitch - good luck for your flight today and the wedding! The hot water bottle did the trick last night and we're getting down to the dr today.

So, today is the big weigh-in day and, considering had a biff day on Monday and have period at the moment, am pleased with being 10 4 today (lost 1 lb from last week). Perhaps inability to eat due to viral laryngitis has its good points

QualityTime · 02/07/2010 07:58

Oh dear, hope you are feelign better waithc, even though you are in teh air as we speak.
sorry your ds is bad dinks, dd2 was up mosrt of the night, dh ended up sleeping in her bed. cnsidering it is a short bed, and 2.5 ft wide, and he is a big 6ft2 he is a leetle tired.
Managed ot pack, sort of revised and did practise interview with dh, had break off to shower in a bit and then go.

Am 15 8 today, lb on, but had mass biff at weekend and stress biff over last few days along with no exercise, so fair enough.

BudaisintheZONE · 02/07/2010 08:00

Thanks for all good wishes for Dad. Fingers crossed it will be ok.

Undertone - great dress - and in a 16!! WELL DONE! Like bag too. In fact I noticed it in Marks the other day but made myself walk on by! May treat myself yet.

Aitch - dental abcess unbelivably painful. Poor you. Hope doesn't spoil weekend too much.

Breakfast and dinner good yesterday but lunch was sausage sandwich followed by fruit soda bread.

Off down to see a friend in Limerick today andd staying overnight. She is a fab cook and I know I will not manage to zone. Then stopping off at my sister overnight tomorrow night. Also won't be in zone. Will get straight back in on Sunday though.

DS slept over at another sister's last night and I ended up drinking far too much wine with my Dad. Slight headache now.

Got hair done yesterday. Great colour and cut although a bit shorter than I envisaged.

Quality - lots of luck for today. You'll be fab. Hope DD ok.

Dinky - hope you got some sleep.

dinky, no I havn't seen bobbie for ages? Wondering if she's name changed? Havent got email or anyhting for her or FB

I'm only allowed on the computer every other day (long story) so I keep missing faces!

tibni · 02/07/2010 19:29

Qualitytime well done with the interview.

Sorry, I was going to come on all happy - im wearing my size 8 jeans, have blasted at the gym and have lost weight.

However, today I had an appointment with my ds consultant Paed and have had a bombshell dropped and I am feeling very fragile (and rather fat having pigged out on pizza tonight). 6 years after initial diagnosis I thought I had come to terms with all my ds problems but now we are once again in the process of more diagnosis and its as painful as the first time. I have not even talked to family and friends yet.

I will kick myself up the arse tomorrow, tonight I just need to let it all sink in.
