Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

Did day 5 and it was fairly easy except the side lunges with the forward shoulder raises.

My lower back is killing me though, so will stick with level 1 for a few more days.

mrswill · 16/04/2010 21:13

Im never in pictures unless its on a drunken night out but am thinking of doing some pics, as Ive seen some on the internet of people after the 30 day shred, and would be interested to compare. For my eyes only of course!
I found level 1 real hard on my knees, but harder allround iykwim.

mrswill · 16/04/2010 21:14

Level 2 harder all round I meant!

GoldenSnitch · 16/04/2010 21:17

What sort of pics? I guess jelly belly out?

GoldenSnitch · 17/04/2010 08:24

Well, it's the morning after day 1 and I'm not in pain

I must have been doing it wrong be fitter than I though!

ClaireDeLoon · 17/04/2010 10:43

Just done day 5, it is getting easier I think! Still really struggling with that last minute of abs work.

I weighed myself, despite sticking to my ww points and exercising (an hours walk yesterday plus the shred) I've put on a pound. Official weigh day is Monday, see how it is then.

ClaireDeLoon · 17/04/2010 10:44

Well done for no pain GoldenSnitch

robino · 17/04/2010 11:13

Have tried level 2 today - not 'cos level 1 is particularly easy but because my knees have also been suffering and I wanted to get out for a run both days this weekend. I say tried because the DDs were determined to stop me from doing it and I gave up at the beginning of circuit 3. I reckon it would have been a killer if I'd done it properly but yes, less hard on the knees.

So, just over half of Level 2 and 2.5 miles of 3.5 mile run with the rest walking because my left knee really isn't feeling too great.

livvylouis · 17/04/2010 13:43

Well I did it! OMG OMG OMG!!! It was hard but I loved it, I definately feel more energized today! Didn't get up early enough tho so had dc's and dh watching me for the last 5 mins, telling me where I was going wrong . I do have a feeling I will be aching a bit in the morning tho!

justaminute · 17/04/2010 18:59

BIG thank you ladies. I really wasn't in the mood for the Shred today but after reading all the positive comments on here I went and did it. Yeah! Day 9- DONE.

poshtottie · 17/04/2010 19:58

I didn't feel like it either but did it and am feeling quite smug now. Day 6 over!

Tortoise · 18/04/2010 18:34

Just won a copy on Ebay for £4. So in a few days i will be joining you. Going to be a few days behind everyone though.

twinkle183 · 18/04/2010 20:10

I am taking the plunge ladies and finally I feel brave enough to do it, so am starting tonight on level 1!!! I'll let you know how I get on... Wish me luck.

omydarlin · 18/04/2010 23:26

I have just ordered and discovered this thanks to spookycharlotte - will be joining the cult soon - am excited but nervous but hey its only 30 days right - what happens after the 30 days??

ClaireDeLoon · 19/04/2010 10:55

I didn't shred yesterday as ended going on a 4 hour walk and my legs were so stiff and achey even the stairs were hard work

I have just weighed in though and lost 2lbs this week which I'm very pleased about as my period is due in a few days and I would normally put on a few pounds. And I've lost 3 inches off my waist in the last month of weight watchers (and a week of the shred), but admittedly it was a fairly hefty waist to begin with!

How is everyone else getting on? Twinkle, justaminute how are you after starting it over the weekend?

livvylouis · 19/04/2010 14:19

I didn't shred yesterday either . Spent all morning walking round a car boot pushing the buggy tho! Will get back on it tonight, I mean business this time .

cyteen · 19/04/2010 14:37

Just did Day 1 while DS is napping - blimey, it really is hard work! But I feel sweaty good for doing it. No shred tomorrow as it's my Zumba night, but otherwise I'm looking forward to carrying on

I do need some proper weights though. Baked bean tins are not heavy enough, I can feel that there's not much extra strain on my muscles from them.

justaminute · 19/04/2010 14:43

That's a lot of walking ClaireDeLoon!

I managed to "keep with the programe" over the weekend . Tonight will be day 11 so I'm considering Level 2. I'm scared by Mrswill's comments about Level 2 - I'll let you know later whether I've been brave enough to do it.

LostGirl · 19/04/2010 15:02

Go for level 2 justaminute. I found it was nice to have a change of exercise and it was during level 2 I noticed a real change in my abs and upper arms and shoulders. It's level 3 which is the real bitch

poshtottie · 19/04/2010 16:23

I didn't shred either yesterday. Too much wine with sunday lunch.

Will be back on track later with day 7.

Am going out Saturday and hoping to be a bit more toned.

justaminute · 19/04/2010 20:13

OUCH! Just done Level 2, far too much plank work for my liking. My arms are wobbling as I type this post.

How on earth does Jillian talk whilst exercising? It takes all my concentration to breathe. Dh got in from work as I was halfway through and wondered what was going on when he heard all the puffing and groaning coming from the lounge

twinkle183 · 19/04/2010 20:28

Yeah... I did 30 day shred today for the first time on level 1 as recommended by Jillian and feel great.. so sure I'll feel like this tomorrow...

GoldenSnitch · 19/04/2010 20:59

Had every intention of following up my shred level 1 with my Davina Post Natal DVD today but did 10 minutes and realsied I was going to be late for getting DD weighed (she was 4 months old on Thursday and I like to fill her baby book in ).

DS's first day at Pre school tomorrow so maybe I'll make the most of only having 1 child tomorrow morning and try to do both

poshtottie · 19/04/2010 21:00

I did level 2 aswell! Those squat thrusts were a killer on my back.

Jillian can breathe as she walks around a bit first then joins in for just a few repetitions.

twinkle183 · 20/04/2010 08:29

Well I have woken up and am not aching... am I suppose to be??? How long am I suppose to level 1 for???

You girls are pros in this area and was wondering if any of you would know...? Pls help!
