Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

Squidmission · 11/04/2010 18:12

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

HOORAY!!!! 30 day shred completed.
Have to say i never thought i would get this far. And i owe all my thanks to you all on this thread for keeping me going.

Hoping for a little loss in measurements but doubt it will be much.

Just waiting for ad break on BB! then will go measure. (very nervous now! Especially with people waiting for results! )

Tortoise · 14/06/2010 22:31

Well, as i expected, no great loss. TBH i am disappointed and don't know why the tape measure isn't showing much change when clothes are feeling a little looser and muffin top is feeling smaller.

Anyway - Thigh 1/2 inch loss
Waist 1/2 inch loss
Upper arm 1/2 inch loss
Hips 1/2 inch loss.
But i have lost around 5lbs.

Back to level 1 tomorrow and will have to work much harder!

Squidmission · 14/06/2010 22:32

Yay! Well done you!

Get on with measuring will ya

congrats Tortoise!!

Day 5 (Level 2) done. Followed by 10 minutes of bouncing on the dc's trampoline!

since I am so early in the programme, it might be worth taking measurements so I can compare, do you think?

Squidmission · 14/06/2010 22:32

Cross posts!

Excellent results

LetThemEatCake · 14/06/2010 22:33

ooops cross post. Squid 5lbs is a lot!! nearly half a stone! Well done!

justaminute · 14/06/2010 22:58

tortoise Well done! You've done it.

I've just logged on before bed in the hope you'd have done it and you've not let me down. Your inch loss is similar to mine - any loss is better than a gain but I felt the same disappointment, it should be so much more after all that effort. However it has made me more determined for round 2. This time I'm being stricter with the food too. I have too much flab for the muscle to show through.

Well done again, get polishing the trophy for Nolda and I'll see you for round 2

Tortoise · 14/06/2010 23:07

Thanks justaminute I too need to be stricter with food! And i also have too much flab to be able to see a 6 pack Lol!
Wish i had measured around my bust before. Sure my boobs have shrunk! Just the area where i don't want to lose anything!

Back tomorrow night to work harder at level 1! Still struggle to do a full push up!

Mithered · 15/06/2010 07:32

Well done Tortoise!
Any tips for a newbie?

Joby1970 · 15/06/2010 07:57

I didn't lose masses of weight when I did it first time round & lost a few 1/2 inches here & there - (mostly on waist & hips yey) However, what was most positive was that loads of people complimented me on the amount of "weight I'd lost" plus all mu clothes were much looser. For me I don't really care what scales & tapes say its how I feel in my clothes. & for that reason the 30 Day Shred is the Dogs Bo!!oxs

Naetha · 15/06/2010 08:33

Well done tortoise - that's really good loss! Like Joby says though - inch loss doesn't mean anything unless people notice, and you've definitely been noticed! Great isn't it

Anyone tried getting their DHs to try it? My DH is on a bit of a fitness drive, but refuses to try it saying fitness DVDs are for girls I think most men would get awesome results from it though - it's really good at building upper body, core and and leg muscles, not to mention cardio.

Nolda · 15/06/2010 08:33

Well done, Tortoise! As the others have said any loss is great. I'm not expecting any big numerical loss either but I feel a lot better about my body now and that is what counts. I'm impressed that you are starting back at the beginning right away. I'm planning on a few weeks break before shredding again (will keep up the exercise though).

trumpton · 15/06/2010 08:42

Congratulations Tortoise Well done. I bet you look more toned ! Day 6 level 1 done second time around here. Press ups still nearly impossible but working on them. Was not at all motivated today but plodded on through.

Tortoise · 15/06/2010 10:30

Thanks everyone. It has been hard going at times and i still hate WO 3!
I know if i have a break it will be hard to get back into it so best for me to keep up the routine. Hopefully then by the summer hols i will have done another 30 and hopefully look better and have lost a bit more weight. Would really love to lose some bingo wing flab lol!

Nolda · 15/06/2010 11:46

Yes!!! I'm now completely shredded!

Tortoise I think I hate WO2 more than WO3.

Tortoise · 15/06/2010 11:49

Agree WO 2 is pretty bad too. Can't 100% remember it as WO 3 is embedded in my brain at the moment! Only 10 days and i guess i will re-visit WO 2!

Joby1970 · 15/06/2010 12:45

Mithered : you asked any tips for a newbie - keep at it try & do a few days on the run if you can as you'll see a difference quicker. don't worry if you can't do all the exercises straight away - you can always follow the easier option. & just come on here & ask us any questions.

voteplease · 15/06/2010 14:56

Newbie here too. DVD came in the post this afternoon. Thought i'd give it a go after all the fantastic reviews on here.

Will give it a go later tonight. 20 minutes seems manageable compared to other dvds of 45mins to an hour.

Nolda · 15/06/2010 15:54

Just for the record I lost 7lbs. Unfortunately, I didn't measure myself but I have my belt one notch tighter so about an inch lost around the waist I reckon. I'm also in one size smaller knickers .

Thanks to everyone on this thread for the much needed support - it certainly wasn't a cakewalk!

Keep going everyone. Who will be next to finish? I shall keep the trophy nice and shiny for you.

voteplease · 15/06/2010 19:39

Level 1 - Day 1 completed.

I hate Jillian already. She's like a Bond baddy.

trumpton · 15/06/2010 20:06

voteplease you will grow to love her. Feel the fear leave your body !!
Don't phone it in.
No you Can nat !!

Tortoise · 15/06/2010 20:53

Looks like i will be having a night off . Want to watch something on TV at 9pm then BB is on at 10pm!
Back to it tomorrow. I have walked loads today plus cycled about 4 miles.

matumble · 16/06/2010 08:20

Hi another newby I did level one last night after nosing in at this thread a few times.

I hired it from lovefilm in case i hated it and whilst i really knew i had done it afterwards (felt shaky and a bit sick does that make me a real wimp? proves what i knew that i am seriously out of shape!) I quite enjoyed it, the 30 seconds and minutes segments suit me perfectly and i found I could bully myself into working really hard on each individual bit.

FeedTheBeast · 16/06/2010 08:50

Congratulations tortoise & nolda on finishing! I'm on day 10 today & pleased that I haven't skipped a day yet even though sometimes turning it on is the hardest part!

Voteplease & matumble you really build up stamina so quickly my strength has improved and therefore my technique is much better- doing the lunges for example, I can control the movement now whereas before I was all over the place.

My dh is really into it- he keeps texting me with Jillians phrases "these abs don't come for free!" etc. he is just starting level 1- he is very fit does triathalons etc but he was saying how much his arms are aching & finds lateral arm raises really tough. (much bigger weights than me though) I will ask him to measure himself too just out of interest.

Level 2 tomorrow!

Squidmission · 16/06/2010 09:29

Congrats Nolda! You've had a a brilliant loss and yay for smaller knickers
