Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

Go Goldensnitch! Just done my session.

Joby1970 · 16/04/2010 08:14

Goldensnitch - let us know how your muscles are feeling today after your first day of the Shred lol.

Squidmission · 16/04/2010 11:00

Just did day 5
It was definitely easier today.

I can't wait to see some results!

Just been looking in the mirror and I'm sure my waist is becoming more defined

Are you looking forward to me being in pain Joby!

Read somewhere last night that you should measure yourself (thighs, arms, waist etc) before doing day 1 then again after day 30 as you'll shrink more inches than pounds due to building muscle so it's a better indicator of progress. Going to try it.

justaminute · 16/04/2010 12:04

Good idea Goldensnitch. I wish I'd measured myself before Day 1 as I'm sure my bingo wings aren't quite as flappy.

I'll try and dig out the tape measure tonight

GoldenSnitch · 16/04/2010 13:11

Well, I did it and I'm still alive

Had to miss out a few of the press ups as I have a dodgy wrist but I'm hoping that as the rest of me gets stronger, that might get stringer too.

Anyone else think the stretches at the end are a bit quick? I added a few more afterwards else I really will be sore tomorrow

Joby1970 · 16/04/2010 13:29

glad you're still alive Goldensnitch. I've always just done the stretches at the end & haven't ached (bar the first time & thats nothing to do with the stretches).

Glad you girls are all enjoying the Shred - I find it really motivating that you can get a good workout in less than half an hour - it just makes me want to be good the rest on the day.

ClaireDeLoon · 16/04/2010 13:54

Thanks for the tips re the easier push ups, I tried them today and it was a lot easier, will work my up to Jillians version of the easy ones in a week I hope, little target to try to aim for anyway.

I did day 4 today after missing yesterday, still finding it really hard but carrying on!

I measured myself a few weeks ago when I started weightwatchers, Monday is my weigh day so will re-take my measurements then and see how I'm doing.

Squid that's great about your waist becoming more defined!

livvylouis · 16/04/2010 15:12

Well it's arrived, too scared to get it out of the wrapper tho!
I'm such a wimp!

Joby1970 · 16/04/2010 16:04

it's not going to work inside the wrapper! honest its fun (tiring) but fun plus you feel hard core when you've done it & can be accepted into the cult of the Shred

poshtottie · 16/04/2010 16:11

Well after seeing that 63 year old woman on this morning running 27 marathons in 27 days and sleeping in the trailer she is pulling I feel like a wimp only doing 20mins of this.

Joby1970 · 16/04/2010 16:32

thats just freaky! lol

Tortoise · 16/04/2010 17:19

I hope to buy my copy in a few days. Watching one cheap on Ebay.
All the positive feedback on this thread is making me want to get it more!

justaminute · 16/04/2010 18:57

I'm loving the Shred cult

I'm giving myself a night off tonight - children have gone to grandparents so we are off out for curry. I promise to powerwalk into town

Give it a go livvy, I'll admit it hurts but it is so gloriously short that when you are ready to give in you are nearly done.

ClaireDeLoon · 16/04/2010 18:59

I love it at the end when she says 'cos you're strong' I'm easily swayed by such things

livvylouis · 16/04/2010 19:12

ok will get up early tomorrow to do it, cant do it tonight as dh is around and will just take the piss. Plus I really want to join your cult, maybe after day 1 I can be accepted .

ClaireDeLoon · 16/04/2010 19:23

yay Livvy! Hope you get on OK!

GoldenSnitch · 16/04/2010 19:56

lol livvy. I'm only doing it on weekdays cause my DH will take the piss too

I did day 1 today and am amazed how good I feel. Will see if I ache in the morning

mrswill · 16/04/2010 20:04

Bite the bullet livvy and do it!

After doing level 1 yesterday, and not feeling like I wanted to die, I stupidly just did Level 2. After virtually peeling my workout gear off, and getting my hands and arms to stop shaking so much I can barely type, I am fearful of what Level 3 will bring, in a few weeks time. Can see what she means now about 'getting shredded'. Dear god

I too am easily persuaded by Jillian saying nice things to me, like 'you can do this' and talking about swimsuit shopping

GoldenSnitch · 16/04/2010 20:31

So glad I read this. I was tempted to jump straight to level 2 but I think I'll stay at level 1 for a bit now

ClaireDeLoon · 16/04/2010 20:49

I had so much energy today! I woke up with hangover, dragged myself through a bit of cleaning, did the shred, hopped in the shower and I felt great. Amazing, so late this afternoon I took advantage of feeling energetic and went for an hour long walk by the river, trying to keep the pace up.

I'm now shattered and my legs feel very achey!

mrswill · 16/04/2010 20:52

Fair play, it is hard going Goldensnitch, but from doing it, I can see how you would get some corking results in a month. Am going to do alternate days of Level 1 and 2 for a good while before even thinking about level 3. Level 1 I found harder on my knees though, so thats why I'll do Level 2 alternate, to give them a break. Jesus, I cant believe how hard Level 2 was. Is anyone taking before and after pics?

Feenie · 16/04/2010 20:58

I am on day 4 and my knees wreck, so it's good to hear that day 2 is easier on them, mrswill.

GoldenSnitch · 16/04/2010 20:59

I've been avoiding being in pictures because I look so awful but I suppose it would be good to look back...

Feel like I should get better about photos, my children will never know what I looked like when they were little because I avoid all cameras!
