stripeywoollenhat · 11/08/2009 22:27

had a banana and am now having tea. hunger inevitable, i guess, system used to packets of biscuits as well as dinner. it only takes about three days, as i recall, for appetite to start diminishing (please agree with me...)

lenni, i think one digestive is okay

treedelivery · 11/08/2009 22:30

Aparently if you knock back a pint of water that is good for hunger pangs.

I offer to trial larger.

Beauregard · 11/08/2009 22:35

lol
My bmi is indeed in the healthy range but i am heavy for me iykwim?

LenniEd-My food phobias arent very interesting tbh.I have always been a bit squeamish of meat and easily put off my food but when i was pregnant with dd2 i became unable to eat meat, fish, eggs, pasta and anything with a sloppy consistency
Has gone slightly but i am very suggestable to being put off my food, just watching tv and seeing something horrid (or hearing)will make me associate it with that food.

Still want the nutter on the thread?

LenniEd · 11/08/2009 22:59

Yep, still want you.

I have consistency issues too I don't eat meat or fish because of the stringyness (also puts me off banana and oranges unless I peel them to death) and definately don't do sloppy - cream, milky puddings, custard and the like, eggs unless cooked right through and even then sometimes not ok - all of these out. Cheesecake a no go. Quiche a bit dodgy. And semen I have to blank it out...

How am I fat? Oh yeah, the chocolate, and the cake.

Stripey - will definately start getting easier by mid week.

Grin
Beauregard · 11/08/2009 23:13

Well i said sloppy consistency but not sure if that was correct but if it doesnt look 'right' i wont eat it.
Such a shame that chocolate is so damn firm

RawChocolate · 12/08/2009 09:52

Hi - is too late to join? Baby born Dec and yet I'm heavier than when I was 8 months pregnant. How? How can that be?!

Am about 11 10 and want to lose 2 stone by christmas.

You all sound like you're doing really well already.

xx

qumps · 12/08/2009 13:00

I'd kill for 5ft 5. I'm 5' 3" (and a half!).
So pleased with myself as entertained this morning and again managed to refuse chocolate. The wrath of mumsnet is def helping!

treedelivery · 12/08/2009 13:57

Hello RawChocolate.

Had a bag of crisps with sandwich. Where is my willpower?

I'd kill for 5ft5 or 6 myself.

So long as I could be 9st and a b cup with a 24 inch waist.

PatTheHammer · 12/08/2009 17:31

Well, I resisted the tempatation of 3 things today:

  1. A delicious cake
  2. An ice-cream
  3. finishing off DD's sandwich

, Bourton-on-the-water is not a great place to go on a diet, cream teas on offer at every turn and ice-cream aplenty!

So far I have had:

I slice toast and spread
1 small bowl F&F with skimmed milk
half Yeo valley yoghurt that Z didn't finish
3 cups Pep tea
1 Lime & Soda
1 Goats cheese salad with 2 small bits of ciabatta (left the dressing off and left the butter of bread ).
1 bottle water.
Snacks= 2 cherries, half apple and handful blueberries

Intend to have salmon fillet with roasted veg tonight

Welcome Rawchoc.... Good luck to you

Lenni and Pelvic: I dislike 'stringy' food too, not keen on oranges unless easy peel. hat stringy meat (will tolerate Roast Lamb and small bits of pork or chicken but rarely eat it). As for stringy bananas

stripeywoollenhat · 12/08/2009 19:07

pat - hurrah for resolve! i maintained mine by not leaving the house, nothing nice to eat here that doesn't involve cooking and it seems that i hate cooking more than i hate being hungry....

today: 2 weetabix, banana, ss milk, black coffee for breakfast
lunch - brown bap with cheese, tomato and a scrape of mayo
snack (again!): slice of bread and butter
three cups of tea with ss milk
dinner is going to be aubergine and chickpea curry, perhaps with a glass of wine. and you know what i mean by perhaps, i'm sure...

going to have to get some healthy snack food in - c woke me for a feed at four and it took me about forty five minutes to go back to sleep after it, because i was hungry. (hurry up and diminish, appetite, damn you!)

LenniEd · 12/08/2009 20:17

Well done Qumps/Stripey/Pat... I need to be better tomorrow. It is another day, and my unofficial diet start date after visit over.

Welcome Rawchoc - definately not to late

Right then exercise: 3 hours walking round Manchester with one of DCs in sling and one in Buggy (interchangable )

Food:

Brekkie: 2 slices wholemeal toast with marmite
Snack: S&V Crisps give me that stern look back Tree
Lunch: Wholemeal wrap with grilled mushroom, salad and halloumi plus a bit of LF coleslaw on the side. Diet coke.
Snack: 1/2 DDs banana
Tea: Small jacket spud with a bit of leftover mushroom risotto from last night.

Not an angelic day by any means but no sugary snacks so feel like I've done better than yesterday which is progress.

PatTheHammer · 12/08/2009 21:27

Well done stripey, your curry sounds delicious .

Lenni, 3 hours exercise is great and that wrap sounds amazing, think you have been good so we can excuse the crisps.

Just thought I would be smug and add my 45 minute swim to my list

Beauregard · 12/08/2009 21:52

ooh you are all eating some delicious sounding things.

Well resisted on the cream teas PatTheHammer.
mmhhh i watched a programme the other night and the chef made enormous scones which he buttered still hot with homemade strawberry jam and cream...........

Breakfast-1 toast with marmite

Lunch-2 tins of ww tomatoe soup(was hungry)and bread x2.

Snack-Alpen light bar,bag of soya bites

Dinner(just eaten)-Quorn cottage pie and peas

Exercise-Walked for about 2 hours pushing my client down muddy country lanes.

I am going for a walk/run up the forest in the morning.

qumps · 12/08/2009 22:04

Ate well all day but have just devoured the rest of the g&b chocolate bar that should have lasted me all week....
In my defence I am menstrual and would ususally have eaten my body weight in chocolate now.

Beauregard · 12/08/2009 22:19

I have also just scoffed a bowl of cornflakes with ss milk.
Bursting at the seams now.

treedelivery · 12/08/2009 22:59

Shit you all eat such healthy food. My diet is appaling.

Today - erm....well as I say, the thing is to stop gaining weight before thinking of loosing it.........

Breakfast - can't remember. Probably not.
11am - cuppa T & kitkat
1pm, turkey and salad on brown [from bakers end of road] with packet of crips
Glass apple juice
5pm - cuppa
9pm - bag of monster munch
10.30 - microwave curry!

Must do better.

Am boiling organic carrots for Hatts as we speak, whereas I have had zero veg.

RawChocolate · 13/08/2009 09:46

I'm really impressed with how much exercise you're doing - LenniEd - you must have burnt loads of calories walking round manchester. Likewise with your swim Pat.Sure I read somewhere the other day that you carry on burning calories after you have finished exercising. Seems to have been an incentive for me to eat more though!

Saw that scone and jam bit the other night too Pelvic - yum.

Am interested very much in that chickpea and aubergine curry stripey - sounds right up my street.

Have found that cannot have crisps in the house Tree - they just play on my mind until I've eaten them. If I do find myself with some, have started having a few then having the packet over to the kids. That way get to eat my crisps, then feel a little bit virtuous about not eating whole packet, then feel guilty for giving kids crisps (well this is mumsnet!)

Good luck with today everyone. Have started off with a peach and water....is it lunchtime yet?.....

treedelivery · 13/08/2009 10:20

Good luck people! Starting now with 2xburgen slices with jam and peanut butter [the lovely meridian one no added salt or sugar and make sun pat seem pointless - yum]

Figured this is a fairly robust meal with some goodness and energy. Only a tiny amount of jam!
Cup of t and a diet coke. Ah well.

Heading out for the day, 1.5 hours commute each way then a hospital consultation. Probably be a diet disaster.

at the crisps Pelvic. Children? Eating Crisps?

stripeywoollenhat · 13/08/2009 12:51

gym plan has gone slightly awry - induction cancelled till monday. darn it i id however, dig out my trainers and given the state of the cupboard they were buried in, i think that counts as exercise

also, not sure how today is going to go - we are having friends round for dinner so i think there may be a dessert that i will be forced to eat. for courtesy's sake, you understand...

PatTheHammer · 13/08/2009 19:27

Better write down before I forget:

Brekkie: I slice toast and spread, fat-free blueberry yoghurt and melon.

Lunch: Philly (light) and salad wrap. Huge bowl of cherries, blueberries and raspberries.

Snacks: 2 thin slice cinnamon malt loaf with spread, 1 orange, 2 mini-breadsticks.

Dinner: Salmon with poached egg, 4 new pots and salad.

3 cups pep tea, 2 glasses squash.
Exercise: Walked kids to park and back (bout half mile).

Not great day in terms of exercise but went swimming yesterday so what the hell!

Stripey: everything in moderation! The dessert is allowable if its small

Tree: hope your day gone well

Rawchoc: Hope you hda more than a peach for breakfast! .

qumps · 13/08/2009 20:26

Breakfast: weetabix
Lunch: bagel and banana
Gym where I was so delighted that I lost a kg since Sunday that I then ate:
3 pieces of flapjack, 2 slices of white toast, a fishfinger, chilli and rice, 2 goo chocolate pieces
Think I just put the kg back on.
Bugger!!!!! I knew my will power was trying to pull one over on me and make me believe that I actually have some.
