120-my problem was I was eating what my toddler ate AND my meals too . Not sure that will catch on as effective weight loss plan!

Beauregard · 26/08/2009 23:54

Have signed up too Pat thanks

RawChocolate · 27/08/2009 11:08

Hi Pat, that site looks great, will have a better look later. Am going to try and start swimming too.

Pelvic, hope your dd is feeling better. Do your kids eat quorn? Have started using the mince for bolognese and the kids and my 9 month old love it.

LenniAgain, totally understand what you mean when you say you have to in the right mindset. Hope that this week is the week it clicks for you.

For me, its less about " I want to be thin!" and more about wanting to wake up in the morning with energy and being fit and healthy. Do I really want to look back and think why did I spend so much time being too tired to enjoy my kids and life? I'm hoping that if I get fit and eat more healthily,I'll be able to handle stress better. The last few days have been unbelievably stressful and sad for me, but have coped and not turned to stuffing my face to help....okay therapy session over

Yesterday

break - croissant and jam and butter
lunch - small ham salad roll
tea - small portion pasta with salad.

Loads of water. oneopinionatedmother, I drink redbush tea (rooibos) without milk. Its pretty palatable as teas without milk go.

Furry, tell me more about this garlic sauce, would it be with the tomato sauce etc bit in the supermarket? As for all the cheese, think its a vital part of my day and have a little chunk most days just before tea - sure i heard somewhere it helps you feel fuller so you eat less for main meal.

Hope you all have good days.

LenniAgain · 27/08/2009 19:45

According to food focus have had 1322 calories today - yay! Although felt like a lot more but no junk at all and only fruit for snacks so am really pleased with myself.

Know what you mean about wanting to be fitter and healthier rather than thinner - same here RawChoc. Now I'm back in pre-pg clothes it is about health for me too really but when I start losing weight it becomes about appearance too, that is where I came unstuck really. Have lost 1.5 stone since DS was born but totally plateaued lately. Now I'm focussed again I'm hoping to shift the other two stone before Christmas and no longer have to constantly worry about my health. Annoying part is I hardly put on any weight at all when pg with DS, it was almost all gained from taking steroids for my arthritis when TTC DD.

Sorry to rattle on.

PatTheHammer · 27/08/2009 19:53

Lenni, I have had 1226. But feel like I have had loads. That is with over-estimating my portion size too.

With me I feel healthy and its all about appearance. I would love to be back in my size 10-12 clothes, not just the 'Big' size 12 stuff I made it into after DD. Plus that dess better fit for DH's xmas do as I am so skint I cannot afford a new one!

Dinner was Sea Bass with steamed veg and wholegrain rice. So delicious and virtually NO calories!

Lunch-picnic, mostly fruit and houmous and salad

Brekker- Muesli, toast, Oj

3 cups pep tea and bottle water.

120cms · 27/08/2009 20:13

evening all, you sound like you are doing well today! I think I'm under eating during the day at the moment due to lack of time/feeding others, then stacking it in at night. Still, I'm not waking up with the funny hangover feeling I got when not eating enough after 6.

2 bagels
bowl homemade lentil soup
2 biscuits (tally going down, but it is early)
1/2 cake
latte
plum
1 sausage with mash (kids tea)
1 can lager
1 glass wine (well, we're off on hols tomorrow woohoo!)

EyelinerOfTheTiger · 27/08/2009 21:30

Well done Pat/120cms. Have namechanged. Ate 1322 calories today...

Beauregard · 27/08/2009 21:36

Rawchoc-She is better today thankyou or rather she was until she hit her toe with a spade....dont ask lol.
The girls will eat quorn yes, just wish i cooked for them more often.

120cms-Im quite similar to you in that i eat more in the evenings.I work in the afternoon/evenings so it is impossible to eat before 9pm and that is usually microwaved or put in oven by dp.

Have just put in my food for the day on Foodfocus and it says i still have about 683 calories left
Am i misunderstanding the site or something?

Beauregard · 27/08/2009 21:41

PatTheHammer · 28/08/2009 21:24

Pelvic, I am severely undereating according to food focus too, but I feel full so don't want to eat for the sake of it IYSWIM

I love Skinny cow lollys!

So today it was:

Fruit and fibre with ss milk, toast with spread.
3 cups pep tea
Ricecakes with Houmous, Strawberries and Cherries
1 Peach
DH made a potato, sprout, caulifloer and mushroom veggie curry with brown rice (lush but we are going to STINK later)

Anyway only 1200 calories according to FF so may go and have some chocolate.........

RawChocolate · 28/08/2009 21:43

Looks like a good day for you Pat. The FF site does seem to think I'm not eating many calories either.

Break - muesli
lunch - soup with half can kidney bean added
tea - kebab and chips....

about an hour exercise, cycling and stepper.

Definately getting less wobbly...!

Beauregard · 28/08/2009 22:45

Not sure i trust that foodfocus site tbh ,i must be eating more calories than it has said.

Just finished work and eaten lots of bread today as toast was the easiest to do when i got in.

Breakfast-Toast with flora light and marmite

Lunch-Soya bites x2 ,ww tomato soup and cheese toastie(ate extra because i dont eat at work on a bank shift)

Just had 3 slices of toast with lemon curd

Beauregard · 28/08/2009 22:46

Rawchoc you are doing loads of exercise

EyelinerOfTheTiger · 29/08/2009 20:18

I'm not sure about the FF site either - am going to add up calories and fat on the packets tomorrow and use my calorie counter book I still have from my previous existence as a Science teacher. Will compare with FF and report back. According to FF I only ate 1500 calories today when have been out for a meal with PILs and had a snack for tea, plus shreddies for breakfast. Can't be right, am sure I would have been closer to 1800/2000 even though I ate carefully at the restaurant.

No exercise today, unless you count running around like a loon after the DCs all day, had a sweat on by the end of it

I am going to indulge in a Sat night glass of wine now seeing as DH has been away since Thurs and not back until Monday I need the alcohol!

Beauregard · 29/08/2009 21:02

ooh yes do report back eyelinerofthetiger

Breakfast-2 toast with flora and marmite

Lunch-Bag of soya bites, mug of ww tomato and basil soup, small pitta bread

Dinner-Homemade vegetable curry with small serving of pilau rice(uncle bens)and 2 small naan breads

Probably yogurt with granola or skinny cow lolly in a bit

No exercise for me either today but i have been on the go all day and cleaned house top to bottom

PatTheHammer · 30/08/2009 19:23

Good days everyone, I think I owe two days as was too busy trying to pack last night.

The FF site does seem to give a lot of calories but you guys are doing lots of exercise so it allows you lots more food to eat if you do this. All the branded stuff works out (I have checked labels etc) I think you have to be careful with portion sizes, I am always overestimating!

For those in doubt DH started on wednesday and has already lost 3lbs!!! he is so chuffed!

Oh and don't forget to add in ALL drinks, DH wasn't doing this at first.

Anyway,
Sat: Poached egg and 2 pieces granary toast
Grapes and shapers cloudy lemonade
OJ
Baked potato with tuna/tomato/pine nuts with veggies
3 squares chocolate

Sunday:
Bowl F&F with SS milk, half piece granary toast.
Houmous and salad wrap, cherries, blueberries, melon, raspberries
Rhubarb fat-free yoghurt
Haddock fillet with rice and veggies.
3 cups pep tea

Lots of exercise packing boxes and running around after kiddies!

Beauregard · 30/08/2009 19:39

Ah pat never thought to add in drinks!
Well done to your dh btw

1 cheese ciabatta with wensleydale and cucumber and scrape of mayo light, bag of soya bites

1 scone with benecol oops
3 malteters

2 quorn burgers, swede and carrot mash, green beans and 4 new potatoes with bisto

Will be having cereal or yogurt later

Drinks decaf coffee x3 ,tea x1, glass of vimto(sugar free)

exercise none as have had a date with the ironing and school name tags but have been on the go

VeryHungryLennipillar · 30/08/2009 20:52

Busy day again here but no 'proper exercise' - I wore MILs pedometer today though and apparently did 13000 steps - WTF! - surely not. I carry DS mostly too rather than using the pushchair so I think I am using more calories than I think. I weighed this am and am down 2lbs so must be going somewhere. BF helps of course.

Food today:

Shreddies with milk
One slice toast with marg
Muller light yoghurt
Quron sausage roll
Piece of MILs cake (oops)
Jacket potato with beans

Daren't do FF today but will check out tomorrow if it matches up.

Moving house always helps me diet Pat - too much to do to think about food and plenty of exercise too.

VeryHungryLennipillar · 30/08/2009 20:53

Hmm - fruit and veg count not so good there! Did eat a plum though which I'd forgotten about.

One thing I've cut out is fruit juice and squash, don't crave either anymore.

RawChocolate · 31/08/2009 13:51

Reading your food diaries has made me hungry Pat and Pelvic. Love poached eggs. 13000 steps, isn't that like a marathon?!Well done on the weight loss Lenni.

Have lost 2lbs this week, am so pleased as seems like its been ages since I've seen the scales say 11st 5lbs! Been on another 2 mile cycle this morning and long walk. Exercise really helps, as I'm sure it suppresses the appetite as well as burning calories.

Well done to your dh pat and well done you for doing all the packing!

PatTheHammer · 31/08/2009 19:23

Oh, weigh in and 2.5lbs off this week. So 8.5lbs all together, do I get a shiny sticker for my half a stone?????

Fit into another pair of jeans and also some work trousers, so its all good!!

Still I will feel the end is in sight a bit more when I get below 11 stone.

Well done Lenni and Rawchoc on your losses.

Poached eggs rule, had another for brekkie today and I swear they fill me up for longer.

Pelvic-hope the name tags done

Beauregard · 31/08/2009 19:28

Well done Pat ,Lenni and rawchoc

Well i have officially fallen off the wagon
I was disheartened because i had only lost 1 pound and very tired so just gave in .Too much to list unfortunately.

VeryHungryLennipillar · 31/08/2009 23:28

Get back on it Pelvic - never too late, I am living proof of that!

Gumps · 01/09/2009 20:34

Pat I want to complain! Have been doing food focus for the week and it said I was pretty much under the line every day except sat and I have put on a pound!
Ok just read above and not out in drinks as I thought it was only alcohol. Am I drinking that much tea???
