hello ladies,

i need a kick up my large rear end please,

i was attending sw classes before x mas,

i lost 1/2 a stone (well a stone actually but i was up and down each week)

my body is much heavier when i am 'on star week'

i go up and down by up to 4lb a week,

lost the will over x mas and scoffed anything and everything,

i need to lose a stone before sept (getting married)

dd is 6mths now and i cant keep blaming pregnancy [shame]

the new plan... simple explanation please,

i liked the 2 ha and 2 hb

i get stressed thinking about food all the time, what can i/cant i eat, what day am i on, how many 'as' or 'bs' have i had so far today etc

i have loads of recipies, loads of cook books and cut outs in a folder,

tonight i have a SW chicken stew in the oven,

wine/beer is my downfall

i dont eat much junk, its just the booze

MyTakenIdentity · 13/01/2009 20:55

MJB it's 12 Jan issue, can't see an issue number.

GO as far as I can see with the new plan, you can eat any free food off a red day and and free food off a green day - together at the same meal if you like. It does mention 1/3 of your plate should be superfree (veg, salad, fruit, quorn, eggs etc), but somewhere I read that SW won't force you to eat in a way that doesn't suit you so this isn't essential. You get on HEA & one HEB and up to 15 syns per day, and the syn value you count is the lowest. Too good to be true?

honeybehappy · 13/01/2009 21:24

i went to my first meeting today and i am very confused, can someone please explain what extra easy means.

so far i have gathered i can have

1 choice from a section
1 choice from b section

but these are just the healthy extras.

i get that we are allowed syns but how do i know what i can have for main meals?

as you have probably gathered i am very dim

MyTakenIdentity · 13/01/2009 21:32

honeybehappy - you can have anything off the "free food" lists (I haven't seen the format of the new book, but for original choice there should be a list of free foods - meat, fish and on green choice the free foods are pasta, rice & potatoes etc. Plus fruit and veg. The old book was broken down in to red pages for original and green for green days, and as far as I gather you can have anything that's free on either/both choices for Extra easy, which is why the healthy extras are limited to one of each.)

I am not very good at explaining and not all that clued up on the new plan, but HTHx

honeybehappy · 13/01/2009 21:50

thanks MyTakenIdentity i'm sort of getting it now

MmeJaffaB · 13/01/2009 21:56

Those doing the "extra easy" how are you finding the 1 a & b? I'm not sure I'd find that easy? I nearly always use a B choice for breakie so then I'd be buggered all day. BUT does that then mean you don't have to use one to say for example.... chicken breast, SW chips and beans?

I suppose if that was the case it would be manageable, I think?

What about the "big" fairly recent change of 2 A choices for the benefits of calcium to aid weight loss etc...... supposedly most of the SS foods are also rich in calcium?

MTA, you are doing a grand job of explaining, thank you.

MyTakenIdentity · 13/01/2009 22:25

thanks MJB, though I will be changing back soon, to my old identity!

fairydust · 13/01/2009 22:50

MneJaffaB - yes thats right the chicken breask chips and beans would all be free food under the easy extra plan

fairydust · 13/01/2009 22:52

also i have never filled my plate with more of superfree foods either and i managed to loose 8 1/2 in the first week

sep1712 · 13/01/2009 23:03

I've missed woman's issue. Its not in shops now boo hoo!!

happynewRia · 13/01/2009 23:19

that's rubbish sep, I only bought mine yesterday at the supermarket.

The plan was in the SW mag too I think, and there's a sample week on the SW website. (I havent seen the SW mag yet as I got a subscription for xmas and it hasn't arrived yet)

Tis MTI back to my old self BTW. My dark day seems to have passed

happynewRia · 14/01/2009 09:29

sep & MJB - I can try and scan the diet pages & email them to you if you like?

MmeJaffaB · 14/01/2009 10:28

Oh glad to see you back Ria.... we missed you.

That would really be amazing if you could, please! cathalix 2004 at hotmail dot com obviously minus the spaces.

I'm really interested in extra easy so would love to see how it works. TIA

happynewRia · 14/01/2009 10:30

will do it later when ds3 in bed. Rx

toadette · 14/01/2009 12:32

Weigh-in last night and lost 4.5lbs

MmeJaffaB, I found the 1 HEa and 1 HEb a bit restrictive on the extraeasy plan so combined it with a couple of Green days this week so that I could have some cheese!

Today I am doing a Green day, so far blueberries and yoghurt for breakfast then chicken (heb) and salad with couscous for lunch. I'm going to have a massive plate of mashed potatoes and beans for dinner tonight.

MmeJaffaB · 14/01/2009 12:33

in a obcessed sad kind of way....

Buda where are you? I hope you are not falling off that wagon again?

OP posts:
MmeJaffaB · 14/01/2009 12:34

yay toadette, Well done!

OP posts:
MmeJaffaB · 14/01/2009 12:36

Thats what I was wondering toadette, can you combine the two then?

OP posts:
toadette · 14/01/2009 12:49

Yes, you can do a combination of red/green/extra-easy days over the week if you want so you don't have to stick to extra-easy for the full week.

happynewRia · 14/01/2009 13:01

well done toadette, and thanks for that info, I was wondering if you could mix or if it would have to be full week (like WW?), I am quite excited by that prospect

just had spag bol followed by fresh pineapple. yum. never got round to breakfast(I know) so have HEB left for later

oh happy day!

dearprudence · 14/01/2009 14:05

Well done on the losses everyone. I weighed in today and lost 1.5 - not bad for me.

Losing the Healthy Extra B has been no problem, but I would quite often use the second HE A for for cheese. On balance, though, I think having more meat in things makes up for it. And like others, I put in a couple of green days so I could have something more cheesy.

Have we all signed up for Body Magic as well? You only need to do 15 minutes exercise 3 times a week for 4 weeks to get a bronze sticker.

sep1712 · 14/01/2009 20:12

happy new ria, the woman i got yesterday was dated 19 jan. It did have some great diet stuff in though! That would be very kind of you if you could email it for me. [email protected].
Glad your feeling yourself.

Well done with your loses. Can't wait to see how much i've lost, i might look like kate moss by then

happynewRia · 14/01/2009 21:19

emails sent

honeybehappy · 14/01/2009 23:27

im new to SW and i have being trying to plan some meals for this week, can you let me know if this sounds ok for the extra easy plan.

bf-porridge and apple
lunch-tuna,swetcorn and pasta and a banana
dinner-cottage pie and veg
supper-2 Weetabix (he.b) with milk (he.a)

it seems like so much to eat in one day.

TIA
