Hi everyone
I've been very busy lately and have neglected mumsnet! So haven't been keeping up with you all.
I had a quick glance back and looks like everyones still ontrack

Even though i have been run off my feet, I have tried to be ultra organised and stay on plan.

Had my weigh in last night and lost another 5 lbs taking my total to 1st 8 1/2 lbs in the 5 weeks I've been doing this plan, so I am quite chuffed.

sorry to ask another ?

but r quorn sausages free?

i see quorn peices.mince etc but cant find sausages

thanks

keepingitRia · 26/02/2009 20:02

quorn sausages and burgers are all free. the only things that maybe aren't are the flavoured stuff. I can't think of an exact example now, but like roasts and lattices and stuff (if they exist!)

hunnybun1981 · 26/02/2009 20:15

thanks keepingitria

i am surprised at how much stuff you can eat on this diet.

ProfYaffle · 26/02/2009 23:20

Me too hunnybun, I will be shocked if i've lost anything (on my first week atm)

Does anyone else find they get bloated on green days? I was vegetarian for years and years so my system should be used to all the carbs/fibre etc but I've still been bloated.

On the plus side it means I don't eat in the evenings as I can't face it!

keepingitRia · 26/02/2009 23:31

when I properly try hard (unlike now) I have lost weight. Before the EE I prefered green days and would have breakfast (fruit salad and squirty cream! or egg, potato and beans), lunch (usually a pasta 'n' sauce/homemade free soup or something with bread) tea with the kids (meat and veg and potatoes/pasta and meat/rice etc) and then supper (egg sandwich with pack french fries or SW chips and brown sauce), obviously depending on my HEBs. On green days there is no end of stuff to snack on. I find snacking harder with the extra easy (mainly cos I don't know the rules inside out) and near-impossible on red. (I can't live without snacking)
good luck for your weigh-ins, I hope youa re pleasantly surprised

keepingitRia · 27/02/2009 09:52

well, renewed enthusiam here today

just had a gentle half hour walk after the school run (although was a bit hot and puce when I got home). I have a pan on with potato cubes for my breakfast...

Hope it lasts

hunnybun1981 · 27/02/2009 11:58

good luck to everyone else

nikkid21 · 27/02/2009 13:24

Hi everyone - can I come back again?

I fell of the wagon big time but rejoined group on thursday morning. I got to target last april having lost 2st 4lb - kept it off until December. Have eaten like a pig since then and am now 10lb over target.

It could have been a whole lot worse considering that I do 5 1/2 hours of gym classes a week. I want to get back to target by April 30th - my 30th birthday.

Extra easy is new to me but reading the front of the booklet it suggests that you only really do it at the start and then move onto red/green once you get nearer target. Think i'm going to stick to red/green.

Already have that familiar 'sloshing in the tummy' feeling which comes from lots of fruit / mullerlights but none of my beloved bread or biscuits.

Hope everyone has a good weekend

keepingitRia · 27/02/2009 13:37

hey nikkid, I think I recognise you from one of the old SW threads.

Think I am going to stick to mainly green, but have EE on days when I do cottage pie for the kids.

BTW, thanks for asking dearprudence - no news on the suspicious circumstances, so it looks very like DH was set up and the seniour management were in on it. Not to worry though, he is better off out of that job is that's how they treat people.

hunnybun1981 · 27/02/2009 16:18

nikkid21

do you find it takes longer to lose weight with doing so many gym classes

i go 5 times a week so am there for about the same time as u, and i joined in jan have toned up without a doubt but my weight hadnt dropped no more than 2/4 pound

hence why i joined sw this week, fingers crossed it works for me

good luck !

hunnybun1981 · 27/02/2009 16:45

chilli con carne on the sw website

Hunnybun - the weight loss is slow for me. I never lost more than 2lb a week even though I do 3 X 45 min spin classes and 3X 1hr body pump classes each week. That said I think that the exercise makes me hungrier than I would be if I was lazier - so my portion sizes are huge for pasta etc.

I did tone up more though. Even though I only lost just over 2 stone I dropped from 3 dress sizes from an 18 to a 12 - which is far more gratifying. I'm a big girl naturally at 5ft 9 with size 9 feet. My target was 12 stone which sounds really heavy still to most people.

PS the chilli con carne won't include the rice on red. You have to syn it as rice isn't a healthy extra.

mildmadderjanitor - are you red or green today? If green i'd go for chinese takeaway with free boiled rice and a vegetable chop suey which is fairly low syn. Just stay away from the prawn crackers! If red go for full english. Bacon, bowyer sausages at 1 syn each, eggs done in frylight, grilled toms and a heb of bread - i give each side a squirt with frylight and fry in a dry non stick pan.(think i'll have that for brunch tomorrow actually)

hunnybun1981 · 27/02/2009 20:25

nikkid21

thanks for that i dont feel so bad now for not losing big amounts, i cant wait until my first weigh in next wed!!!

i did not end up having chill but my hubby ate the whole pot, lol

MmeJaffaB · 02/03/2009 11:33

It's Monday.... where is everone? Hope you all had a low syn weekend. I'm feeling really good at the moment. Lost another 2lb this week, I can notice it now which makes it all so much more worth it.

well done mmejaffa on your weight loss

my first weigh in is wed, and i am doing well so far havent gone over sins in fact under by a few .

i go to the gym a lot so am a tad concerned the weight loss wont be a lot, i have about a stone to lose to get ideal bmi but i want to lose about 2 stone.

i made the sw chicken chow mein last nite was yum but am going to try it again with quorn tonight as i have loads of veg that need to be used.

how r u getting on what foods do you like to snack on.

nikkid21 · 02/03/2009 17:29

well don mmejaffa -apparently 2lb is the ideal loss per week if you are going to keep it off long term.

I had a good weekend sw wise. Kept within the red and green days with 3 he each day. Did use my full quota of syns every day on wine / choccies.

Am red today so had quark quiche with bacon, onions and tomato in it for lunch. Have roast lamb with butternust suash, carots and cabbage for dinner tonight. Just deciding whether to splurge 6 syns on two yorkie puds or have a kit kat later instaed.
