Ria - glad the GP appt went well. I can totally empathise with becoming anxious about imagined diseases. In fact, I am currently awaiting the results of a biopsy after a borderline smear result - there's no real cause for concern but I'm still managing to worry!

Sep - poor you. I wouldn't say 'only tonsils'. My DH has had a lot of tonsilitis and it looks excruciating and makes him really poorly. Hope you've got some good antibiotics. How about using flexible syns over the next couple of weeks? You can go over on the 'celebration' days but not blow it on the other days. OTOH - sod it, you're in size 12 jeans! Go and enjoy yourself

How's everyone else doing - WallofSilence? caykon?

keepingitRia · 11/02/2009 13:46

thanks dp. hope your results come back ok.

I am hoping to use my fretting as a wake-up call ("you would be at less risk of these illnesses if you lost just 10% of your body weight" - I read that somewhere, diabetesUK I think, or maybe the SW handbook!) Although, even if I lost 30% of my weight and I was waiting for results for a test I'd had when I had no symptoms, I would still panic, cos that's the kind of person I am

had bacon & mushroom omelette, beans and salad. I am stuffed. And even though it wasn't as good as DHs omelettes, it was nice

MmeJaffaB · 11/02/2009 14:10

hello everyone...... big wave. doing OK! Wouldn't say I've been 100percent but have been being "healthy" as suggested. No more news on DN yet.

Ria I'm pleased everything was grand at the dr's.
Pru, better safe than sorry, they are really hot at the moment on even slight changes. Sure it's nothing.

Marmite toast for brekkie, had chicken flaoured noodles for lunch and have a lovely French Sole to grill for tea, will have with a tin of green beans or salsafis.

The running has gone on a back burnner at the moment as I don't feel like it but dancing has taken over, I have just been asked to join the "show group" first demonstration for me is a week on Saturday, we are rehearsing like mad.

OP posts:
dearprudence · 11/02/2009 16:26

Wow, Jaffa, dancing!

keepingitRia · 11/02/2009 16:27

Also impressed at you doing a show dance. I used to go to a salsa class before I got sciatica, but no way would I have been in the show dance group!

MmeJaffaB · 11/02/2009 19:02

It's not quite hip hop....

It's line dancing but thanks, I really love it.

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 11/02/2009 19:19

there's nothing wrong with line dancing is there? I have never been, but Dsis used to go when she lived in Oz.

MmeJaffaB · 11/02/2009 21:23

Thanks Ria... It's massive here in France.

keepingitRia · 14/02/2009 13:43

happy valentines ladies

I am off out to find delicious food shortly (am in on my own tonight, DH at work cooking romantic meals for other people)

My evening last night was very restrained considering.

I need a double dose of motivation this week! Got to get this exercise thing going. It's half term though, so I can do lots of dragging the boys out on walks.

WallOfSilence · 15/02/2009 13:11

Hi everyone.

Once again I haven't got posting for nearly a week!

I had 2lb off on Wednesday night. It was just the 2lb I had gained last week though so am not all the chuffed!

I've been a bit risky this week.. was fine on Thursday & was ok until Friday night when I had a chicken fillet burger with mayo & a handful of chips..as well as a few biccys.

I was good yesterday though, had omellette for breaky/lunch followed by fruit salad. Last night I had a beef chow mein from the chinese take away, was noodles & loads of veg so wasn't too bad.

Breakfast today was a boiled egg followed by a fruit salad. Have a nice turkey breast for dinner with potatoes, sw roasties & veg.. might have a scoop of ice-cream for afters if I feel like it.. though I reckon I should be saving all my syns from now to Wed to make up for the chicken fillet burger on Friday night...

caykon · 16/02/2009 08:30

Hi everyone.
I don't know what it is but my dc's seem to pick up every bug going at the moment and my ds has been very poorly over the last week, hence why I haven't been posting.
I also didn't get to class this week due to it so have no losses to report till wed.
I am confident I have managed to stick to plan through it all though, which I am pleasefd about.

keepingitRia · 16/02/2009 13:03

pah, didn't get my delicious valentines meal as DS3 had lost the car keys.

Will be having ti tonight instead, W style

had porridge for brekkie today so I didn't have to faff about doing bacon & egg. I've got through the morning ok! DH is making us omelettes for lunch. Yum.

this week the key word really is EXERCISE. am taking the boys to the beach later but it looks blimmin cold

sorry for your illnesses caykon

keepingitRia · 16/02/2009 13:03

BTW I am relieved to have maintained again

MmeJaffaB · 16/02/2009 15:19

Gained half lb, also happy with that as was off rails all weekend.. Mind you, 5 hrs dancing a week now has got to be helping.
Someone asked me a while ago when I found the time to do all my classes. They are all in the evening, 3 kids tucked up and a lovely husband who wants doesn't mind me out 4 nights a week, (he gets to play his Wii).

Hope you get your nice meal Ria, had to lol at the car keys, we've lost our post box key somewhere, thats driving me mad.

Ham, egg and SW chips here for tea. Yummmm

Glad to see you're all keeping going. I had a good week last week and lost 2lb (hooray) but I seem to be going downhill now.

For some reason I had a massive blow-out last night. I'm going to confess as I'm truly ashamed. I had some left-over pasta with chicken and pesto - fine, although it had hardly any veg in. Then I ate nearly a whole pizza . And then, I had most of a Cadbury's caramel bar. And a packet of iced gems. And 3 glasses of wine. How many syns do you reckon that is? Isn't a pizza about 70? I felt like shit this morning.

Seems to be a week for losing things - we lost DS's DS (!). We know it's in the house but it simply refuses to be found.

sep1712 · 17/02/2009 16:09

Hi all,

Had a great valentines day...but hotel room got broken into and i put 3lb on this week.

Need a huge boot to get me on track! I even pigged out at macd's yesterday. lost my mojo now and can't find it!!

Kids at home and dd 2 has an ear infection and chicken pox so stuck to the house for the rest of the week so i'm going to find it hard. Also DH birthday tomorrow and were going out. Good its going to be hard to stick on track. Feel like i'm missing out by being on a diet at the mo!

caykon · 17/02/2009 17:14

Just about to have dinner having jacket potato with it I fried in frylight some onion until soft added some chopped up quorn sausages and garlic then a tin of chopped tomatoes and a tin of beans and some dried mixed herbs and a shake of cayenne.

It is very very yummy!!!

keepingitRia · 17/02/2009 22:32

sep, I know how you feel, it doesn't take much to make me feel I need "something". about your break in - did you lose much? did you have a good tim e prior to that?

I have started this (in a very loosely based, can't manage the whole of a training session, kind of way) I love the adrenalin rush, but it makes me so prone to falling asleep (and hungry)
(I am on my 2nd day, so obviously still motivated.)

off to spend some much-needed time with DH...

keepingitRia · 17/02/2009 22:37

flexi-syns dearprudence, forget and move on. there is a recipe for pizza in the new mag. If you are on a red/green, you can have cheese as HEA and it's not that many syns really. (I am quoting off the top of my head from many recipes read, but it is do-able). I made a SW pizza on Fri for my friends and even DH said it was nice.

I will look into it properly recipe-wise when I am concentrating.

slushymummy · 17/02/2009 22:51

Jaffa - I was led to believe that all french letterbox keys were the same ?? Apparently this is how the postoffice deliver things easier ?? Not very secure I know, but then we're not talking about the UK !!!

jenk1 · 18/02/2009 16:27
