3 pounds is fantastic - well done!

I've lost half a stone so far, in 3 weeks.

Already feel better.

Thanks for teh password jenk1. x

DrZeus · 18/02/2009 19:46

Found a book called the Lunch Box Diet and it's got some lovely salad recipes in which could be used on SW plan. Just had a fab chicken and mushroom salad with yogurt dressing and Thai spice, followed by chopped up apple with plain yogurt and ground ginger (think I was a bit over zealous with the ginger tho') !

caykon · 18/02/2009 19:52

well done jenk on your loss.

Zeus I may have to get a copy of that book. i have a bit of a fetish for recipe books.

well i didnt go to class last week so this weeks weigh in was for 2 weeks and I lost 7 1/2 lbs so i am happy. I have now lost 1 st 3 1/2 lbs in the 4 weeks i've been going. I love this diet.

keepingitRia · 18/02/2009 19:53

wow, well done on the losses

DrZeus · 18/02/2009 19:56

Forgot to say I lost 2lb last week (makes up for the 2.5lb on the week before!). Hoping for another 2lb this week. Only half a stone to get back to target.

CharleeInChains · 18/02/2009 19:57

Anyone mind if i join?

I did SW last year and lost 2 stine but then my group day moved to a day i already had commitments on! There are no other groups near by and i can't afford to do thier online programme.

I have piled the 2 stone back on! I really want to follow the diet plan again just without the groups, which isn't easy but im determined! I have my book still and the knowlage of how it works.

I am on a green day today, i tend to alternate religiously as it keeps me on track and im going to wiegh on a monday each week on my digiscales at home.

I have only eaten fruit all day i have been really busy so no syns so far but i am about to have a huge baked potato with beans and cheese from my healthy extras, i have used milk from my HE today as well for tea (no sugar!) no HE B's yet though!

Im 11.8st and 5ft 2" im hoping to loose the 2 stone again and keep it off this time!

sep1712 · 18/02/2009 22:33

Well done to everyones weight loses.
Caykon, can't believe you have lost so much, thats fab.

Welcome to charlee, good luck, i'm sure you'll lose the 2 stone quickly. Post what your eating so i can get some ideas please.

Ria, Had a really fab time, on our own, being grown ups!!! We lost £160 credit cards and driving licences. Did know till we went to check out so it didn't spoile our time there. No sign of a break in so they must have used a key, another room suffered to! The hotel asked us to settle up before we left, my blood was ragging, we didn't have anything left!!! Police was involved but no joy!

Finding it really hard to get myself back on plan.Made my favorite soup but can't bring myself to eat it!! just eating crap. Been out for a lovely meal tonight, not on plan at all. Even made a huge chocolate cake today aswell. I must kick myself up the bum. Got lots of compliments on how good i looked tonight so need to keep it up.

Rant over.....

dearprudence · 18/02/2009 22:37

Shit. Three and a half on. But I went to class and made some plans for the week ahead. Ria, I have a 5k in June that I've not started training for yet, so tomorrow I'm taking DS out on his bike and going for a jog.

caykon, you're unbelievable! Such fab losses. And well done to everyone else too.

Tomorrow's target - make soup!

snottymcgrotty · 18/02/2009 23:57

Ooh, what kind of soup ??? I love soup ! DH is away this week so it would be good to have some homemade soup (he despises the stuff, more of a meat, two veg and dessert man ). Please give me some ideas. I'm a member of a class, weigh-in day is friday, so fingers crossed ! (Have posted on here before bt have namechanged.)
Thanks folks.

p.s. well done on all your losses, every little helps !!

CharleeInChains · 19/02/2009 09:01

I make Carrott and Coriander soup, it so delicious and free!

I jsut chop,

4 large carrotts,
1 stick of celery,
stalk off fresh coriander.

The soften in a pan with some frylight, then transfer to either the slow cooker or a large saucepoan and add some chicken stock made from Bovril.

When its all tender i add the leaves from the corriander and blitz. The season to taste.

It is really nice.

caykon · 19/02/2009 09:05

my favorite soups on a green day are carrot and lentil and leek and potato. Both very easy to make

sep1712 · 19/02/2009 09:33

Caykon, how do you make your soups?

carrott and coriander, going to give that a try.

My fav at the mo is spicy butternut squash:

Soften 2 chopped onions and 2 cloves of galic.

Add 2lb of butternut squash and 1 potatoe, 1/2 tsp chill and 1/2 tsp nutmeg.

Then add stock, enough to cover, simmer till soft then add corriander. blitz, enjoy.

Potatoe and stilton is nice, you only have to use a tiny bit of stilton as its so strong and it thickens it up well. I don't really like stilton but i like this!

Hope this helps snotty

CharleeInChains · 19/02/2009 09:44

Spicey Parsnip is lovely.

Same sort of thing but soften 1 onion, 1 celery and 4 parsnips then add a tbsp of curry powder to your vegg and then add the stock. Gorgeous!

sep1712 · 19/02/2009 09:55

That sounds good charlee.

I found soup a great way of using up the veg's that are about to turn and for getting your five a day.

MmeJaffaB · 19/02/2009 12:52

Hi everyone, welcome to the newnames.

Sep do you still need a kick? Have one anyway.

Caykon, Well done what an amazing 4 week loss.

Parsnip and ginger winter warmer soup is lovely!! I'm sure it'll be in the SW recipie archives.

sep1712 · 19/02/2009 16:05

Thanks for the kick, its not helped!!!

Today i'v had weetabix for brekkie, half bowl of soup, 1 choc, and a mug shot. Don't need to cook for family tonight so don't what to have that involves no effort!!! I'm really bored of it now and need to liven up what i'm eating to get me on the rails!!!

jenk1 · 19/02/2009 19:06

oh dear ive had a very flexible syns daytoday.

today is 9 years since me and dh met and we,ve been to the fair and ive had

Carton of chips
Bit of candy floss
pizza
more chips

def getting back on it tomoz.

Well done to everyone on your weight losses.

i love carrot and coriander and that soup looks lovely.
i bought a new book last nite called 100 comfort foods, its really nice so going to have a look in that, we should start a SW recipe thread up!!!

dearprudence · 19/02/2009 21:29

Well I achieved my target and made the soup! I used up all the veg from my fridge - leeks, butternut squash, carrots, a potato and a chicken breast. It's really yummy.

Also went for a so-called jog with DS. The idea was for him to cycle but he insisted he wanted to jog with me. He is only 6 so our pace was a bit slow (mostly walking for me) but we still did 40 minutes.

Feels good to be back on track

snottymcgrotty · 19/02/2009 21:46

Well, unfortunately those thorntons called to me, but ........ I only ate .........3 !!! .

Had yummy yummy sw chips with poached eggs and mushy peas for tea tonight LOVE that tea !

Fingers crossed for the demon scales tomorrow !

keepingitRia · 19/02/2009 22:27

snotty - who did you used to be, or have you changed to preserve your ID?

food not going well here. Is half term a good excuse?

had frozen pizza tonight as went out for a long, virtuous walk with the boys and DS1s friend (my ears HURT!!!)

sep, glad you had a good time first though.

snottymcgrotty · 19/02/2009 23:55

keepingitRia I used to be slushymummy, but no snow round here any more and we've all got snotty colds !!

Quick update on the Thorntons situation ..... I have now had 4 ,

CharleeInChains · 20/02/2009 08:38

Im going to go shopping later, its been a whilesince i have done a SW shop, any vitals you always get?

Im going to make tomato soup later as well, its lovely.

dearprudence · 20/02/2009 13:32

Charlee - Staple purchases for me are:

Ainsley Harriot cous-cous (Moroccan spice flavour)
Marrowfat peas (I snack on these)
Asda chick pea dhal
Butternut squash (for roasting)
Tinned tuna
Mullerlights
Loads of fruit and veg
Alpen Lite bars (2 = 1 HE)
Baked beans

Enjoy the shop!

Snotty - how was weigh-in? Did you get away with your Thorntons?

Ria - half term is hard, isn't it.

snottymcgrotty · 20/02/2009 16:16

Well, not only did I "get away with my Thorntons", I got slimmer of the week !!!!!! I lost 2 1/2lbs, so 1 stone 6lbs off so far ! Think I'll have to finish the box now as a "treat"
Slimmer of the week bag was poxy though - 2 x bananas (one of which I'd taken with me !), a kiwi, a grapefruit and a tin of mushy peas. If anyone can come up with a recipe for all of those together, you really can't cook !! I don't even eat fruit so what a useless bag.

I had Ainsley Harriot Moroccan spice coscous for my lunch, it's lovely and garlicky/oniony and the spices are just right, not too strong, but definitely there !

Not sure what to have for tea tonight though. Pondering over quorn sausages with mash and baked beans (DD1 can have proper sausages and DD2 might have a bit of mash).

Our consultant was showing us some ready made soups that are healthy extras today, they'll be useful when I go back to work as don't need to be chilled. Think they were green giant ones (had better double check), mushroom, country veg and tomato. Looked quite tasty through the packet .

keepingitRia · 20/02/2009 16:28

snotty.

new bloody stress for me, I'm taking the weekend off life! Apart from getting out and about and tackling the ironing of course, but the rest of it can bugger off and leave me alone - food included!
