OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits. Following on from ⭐️⭐️

Here we are with our LOSE IT! Superfood September 2026! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!
I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

We have been manically DIY-ing this weekend. Food has been stick in the oven ready meals. I have not been calorie counting. Haven’t even had my Apple Watch on to count movement 😱 Will need to check in on the scales on Monday.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 20/09/2026 17:30

Child and I have had a lovely afternoon building a den in the woods! It's been so beautiful here today (South Yorkshire) and really hot at times.

ToddlersAreBananas · 21/09/2026 06:55

This week in the Bananas household, everyone has come down with a cold. It's making me feel really rough; I feel achy all over. Mind, this might also be because of the DIY I did last Thursday, but I'm not sure... Though I do think DIY is a good workout @LemonDrizzle23!?!?!?

@DreamingOfGeneHunt I love s&v crisps so much, I can't buy them... I've just finished reading Ultraprocessed People (someone else on this thread recommended it) and he talks about the addictive qualities of u.p. foods - certainly, if you give me a share bag of crisps, I know I can't help but finish it.

To anyone wondering, Ultraprocessed People is worth a read. Much of it is obvious and there are sections which are super dull, but parts are interesting. Overall, it's a good reminder of the economically greedy world we live in.

Fave quote:
'Eat food. Not too much. Mainly plants.'

Since reading it, I've been meaning to make my own bread - @LegoTherapy you've inspired me to do it this week!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 21/09/2026 07:43

Morning! OMAD here today.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 21/09/2026 09:00

Morning all! Still 14 stone, 2 but I'm wearing a size 14 dress today, it fits perfectly💕

TheRealHousewife · 21/09/2026 13:22

Good Afternoon All x

@Rosetime Walking is fantastic as a general easy to do and fit it in exercise! I’m sure th3 scales will soon be in retreat! 🤞

@DreamingOfGeneHunt I love my apps but so far none of them have been able to correctly identify what I’ll weigh by a certain date. I’m unassessable (not a real word) 😅. I hope yours is correct! There’s still time for it to drop before the weekend! Great NSV!

@LemonDrizzle23 Needs must! Are you all done now?

@ToddlersAreBananas Love it! Bananas Household 🍌😅. I hope the colds soon bugger off … they are one of those illnesses that makes you feel miserable. I’ve read the Chris van Tulleken Ultra-Processed People. Do you mean that one? I agree with the sentiment ‘Eat food. Not too much. Mainly plants’. As I’ve got older I’ve naturally developed this way of eating a.though I do still have chicken & fish but not everyday.

Menu
Meal 1 - Avocado on sourdough with sunflower seeds.
Meal 2 - Big Massive Salad with Roast Chicken. Fage & nuts.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, water.

Exercise:- Still not up to it sadly.

@ToddlersAreBananas I definitely count all the climbing up and down ladders as a workout!

I also have a co-op salt and vinegar crisp problem. I very rarely buy them now, as I can eat most of a share bag in one sitting. Definitely a UPF thing.

@TheRealHousewife we are all done thankfully, as I'm now coming down with a cold. Can tell we’re back at school!

I have been horrendously snacky this evening. I always get like this when I have a cold. We’re away this weekend, so hopefully feeling better by then.

Rosetime · 22/09/2026 06:20

@TheRealHousewife , love the gif.

Unfortunately, am still not up to exercise either. And the weight is starting to push the scale upwards.

Since the start of this year, I was doing very well and almost hit my goal weight. Hopefully, this inertia passes soon, so i can get back on track.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 22/09/2026 06:48

14 stone 1 this morning!

ToddlersAreBananas · 22/09/2026 06:59

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 22/09/2026 06:48

14 stone 1 this morning!

I'm very impressed @DreamingOfGeneHunt! You're loosing weight very consistently 👏 and you've lost so much too!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 22/09/2026 07:42

@ToddlersAreBananas thank you! It's been a long slog! There was over a month with absolutely no loss at all and I would usually have given up then. I don't know why this time was different but sticking with it has definitely paid off!

SummerHols2026 · 22/09/2026 08:04

I’ve had what can only be described as a relapse Sad some bad news set me off on a 3 day break from the diet. I don’t want to say binge because that’s not true but I did say fuck it for 3 days. Feeling rotten this morning.

Needless to say I won’t be weighing in tomorrow but I’ll do it Friday instead and hope the tide has turned on the emotional need to eat.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 22/09/2026 08:08

@SummerHols2026 hope you're ok x

SummerHols2026 · 22/09/2026 08:12

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 22/09/2026 08:08

@SummerHols2026 hope you're ok x

Thank you, I am. I’m just disappointed after weeks of chipping away at my food goals, I derailed so easily. Even when I consistently stayed the same on the scales I carried on. I guess bad eating habits die hard and that “comfort” of food is a reliable quick fix at the time.

Feeling more focused today and hoping to get straight back to it.

Fellsbells · 22/09/2026 10:58

@SummerHols2026 sorry to hear that. Three days won’t take away from all your hard work. It’ll just be water weight.

well done @DreamingOfGeneHunt brilliant progress.

I’m hovering around the same place. A bit up, but I’ve eaten more recently.

ChunkyMonkey36 · 22/09/2026 11:35

I’ve been out of action a couple of weeks, had loads on and kept forgetting to return to this thread!

I’ve hovered between 15st 1lb and 14st 13lb for about 3 weeks. Just the same few lbs shuffling about.

This morning’s weigh in was 14st 11lbs, finally!

I’d love to get 14st 10lbs tomorrow, as that would officially be 2st off, and I’m buggering off on an all exclusive holiday on Thursday 😂.

If however scales don’t play ball and show me that extra lb off, I’m planning on having a nice holiday anyway!

Love that quote @ToddlersAreBananas !

I've been doing pretty well this week (with the exception of a takeaway on Saturday night, but I didn't overeat). Had a lovely bit of salmon today (never buy fresh as it's so expensive but it was on offer and it made a nice change).

Fx for a loss tomorrow.

LemonDrizzle23 · 22/09/2026 20:40

I decided today that a cold and a calorie deficit don’t go together! So embraced a spag bol for tea.

September has been so busy, and as such, a bit of a write-off here weight-loss wise. We’re away again Thursday to Sunday and eating out every night… I plan to do plenty of walking, and enjoy the meals rather than calorie count at this point I think. Will start fresh on the October thread 😂

AuutumLeaves1983 · 23/09/2026 06:40

Good morning. Sorry to hear some of you are unwell. Hope you feel better soon.

SW (02.09.26): 9st1
Current weight (Happy scale moving average): 8st12.6
Target weight: 8st0

This is ridiculously slow, (but my moving average is slightly lower than last week)!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 23/09/2026 06:48

Morning all! 14 stone today!!!! At my first goal weight!

I've been trying to get to 14 stone since 2020 and I'm so pleased with myself.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Edit because I can't spell.

PatienceOfEngels · 23/09/2026 06:59

Wow = -0.5kg! Very happy with that. My BMI has come down one whole point since I started in August. Almost 3kg off. Heading in the right direction.

SW 79.1kg 10/08/26 (BMI 29.1)
CW 76.3kg (BMI 28)
GW1 67.9kg (for a BMI under 25)
GW2 63.5kg (BMI 23.3)

10/08/26 79.1kg
19/08/26 77.1kg
26/08/26 77.1kg
2/9/26 76.7kg
9/9/26 77.8kg
16/9/26 76.8kg
23/9/26 76.3kg

Dinner tonight will be a burger with paprika wedges. Not sure about lunch - maybe an omelette with peppers and mushrooms. Have no desire to eat biscuits/chocolate/crisps though cheese is still a thing (had some yesterday as a snack with my pear so need to stay away today!)

mermadeincornwall · 23/09/2026 07:31

10stone 12lbs
Goal 10stone
Lost so far 1stone

Back from holiday. Back on it.

LemonDrizzle23 · 23/09/2026 08:06

Morning WOWers! Well done to everyone weighing in. I’m very inspired by the steady consistency.

September hasn’t actually been the write-off I thought it was. I am at least now back to my “before school summer holidays” weight. Which was pretty much my lowest.

SW: 15 st 8.5
CW: 13 st 5.8
Next goal: 12 st 12

My hope is to maintain this next week while away (as there will be too many tasty meals 😂), and then start to move the scales in October.

ChunkyMonkey36 · 23/09/2026 08:34

Morning all!

14st 11lbs this morning, so that extra pound still hanging about 😂.

After the few weeks of not much going on I’ve checked my little tracker and I’m 6.5lbs down from this time last month, 4lbs down since start of September.

SW: 16st 10lbs / 106.14kg
CW: 14st 11lbs / 93.89kg
Total lost: 27lbs / 12.25kg

PipkinOfPepper · 23/09/2026 08:43

After getting off track a bit over the summer I'm back on it! Thought a WOW was a good time to rejoin.

SW: 111.05 kg (4th January)
CW: 86.45 kg
Total lost: 24.6 kg

Annoyingly my weight is up 200g from yesterday, but I'm over the moon that my BMI is finally below 30 for the first time in years (definitely before Covid).

Current goal weight is to get to 80kg and then I'll reassess.
