OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits. Following on from ⭐️⭐️

Here we are with our LOSE IT! Superfood September 2026! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!
I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

I forgot it was WOW yesterday. I had homemade pizza again last night. Too many Tunnocks caramel wafers in general but they are only 134 calories so nevermind. On the ADHD medication my appetite is greatly reduced and I’d happily not eat most of the day. I always have breakfast but rarely want lunch and could miss dinner too and just grab a Tunnocks. I have to force myself to eat something decent. I’m still managing an average of over 5 miles a day walking. Did 8 yesterday.

Bufftailed · 17/09/2026 08:23

Missed yesterday. Totally agree with @PatienceOfEngels about no after dinner snacks. Earlyish dinner and nothing after makes a huge difference. I’m a bit stuck atm, happy scales says I lost 0.1kg. Keep plodding on

SW 84 kg
CW 80 kg
GW 72 kg

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 17/09/2026 08:57

14 stone 2, scale wobbled over 1!

TheRealHousewife · 17/09/2026 09:57

Good Morning Everyone

@SummerHols2026 Sorry to hear that. It’s really easy to get dispirited when you know you’re doing all the right things and the scales go rogue! Keep doing what you’re doing ❤️👍

@DreamingOfGeneHunt Thats a great NSV. I’m sure it won’t be long before you’re firmly in your 14s 👍👏

@AuutumLeaves1983 Overall you are doing fantastically and 20,000 steps is some accomplishment 🥇 It would take me 3 weeks to do that many 😅

Fabulous losses @PatienceOfEngels @HappyLittleTreeFriend @ToddlersAreBananas @RoseInAPot @Bufftailed 👏👍👌

@Fellsbells @mermadeincornwall @LemonDrizzle23 @AuutumLeaves1983 @SummerHols2026 Im loving the attitude of you ladies who are maintaining or gaining a little and carrying on, even when the scales have gone a bit rogue or non compliant.

Tip
A useful habit to get into, especially if you’re an evening snacker is to clean and close the kitchen after your evening meal. I realise this isn’t always easy if you have a busy household but it can help reset your mind/stomach into not expecting any more food/alcohol/sugary drinks etc. Another tip is to brush tea 30 minutes or more after your last food of the day.

I forgot to post my WOW yesterday so I’m going with the days before weigh-in which was a very thankful 1lb down (looks proud 😊)

THREAD POLL:- Christmas is fast approaching and I know a lot of us use its arrival as a goal for weight loss. My questions are:-

  1. Keep doing a fresh thread each month or
  2. A 12 week Christmas countdown thread or
  3. An 8 week Christmas countdown thread?

Picture to gain your attention to the Poll :) 🎄

1 - Fresh thread for each month.

But would happily go with the majority.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 17/09/2026 10:35

3: 8 week Christmas countdown thread

ToddlersAreBananas · 17/09/2026 11:14

I don't mind either way xx
@TheRealHousewife

Fellsbells · 17/09/2026 11:56
  1. fresh monthly thread
LemonDrizzle23 · 17/09/2026 18:37

Ooh, 8 week countdown gets my vote. Love a Christmas countdown 😍

Hi @LemonDrizzle23Hope you’re good! I think it’s looking like a new thread for October then perhaps a double for an 8 Week Christmas countdown November/December - in December posters/posting usually drops off as people are generally more busy 👍. x

Thanks for the words of encouragement @TheRealHousewife! I’m just home from an exercise class. I may weigh in again tomorrow hoping to see some movement 🤞

I’m happy to go with the flow for the next thread. I don’t have a Christmas target in mind as such, just hoping to continue doing what I’m doing…

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 18/09/2026 07:20

I think the 8 week countdown would be a good idea - I know I struggle to be accountable over the Christmas season because of the lure of a good cheeseboard 😂😂

AuutumLeaves1983 · 18/09/2026 07:28

I also don’t mind. Whatever is easiest for you @TheRealHousewife

TheRealHousewife · 18/09/2026 08:49

Good Morning All x

Im really loving it that we are coming into autumn because to me that’s officially Soup Season. I really enjoy a robust soup! Today’s batch is going to be spicy tomato and vegetable 🌶️ 🍅 😋

Menu
Meal 1 - Spicy tomato & vegetable soup with sour dough.
Meal 2 - Liver & onions & mixed vegetables. Fave & nuts.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea & water.

@HappyLittleTreeFriend Crumbs I can enjoy a chunk of cheese anytime. Roquefort is my weakness. Sweet, salty, creamy and umami 😋

Thank you for all your responses and I think it’s a win for an October thread and then an 8 week Christmas countdown thread 🎄🥳

I’m sharing the Action for Happiness Calendar September. I missed sharing before as I was on holiday when the this thread started.

@LegoTherapy I’ve just read your September 1st post and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed catching up. You are a super star mum! 🌟 You should be super proud!

I did a sneaky weigh in and it was down a pound. I just knew the Wednesday reading felt odd. Would love to keep it off for next week. Feeling more focused and driven now.

I've just eaten a share bag of McCoys salt and vinegar crisps, but have walked over 15000 steps so far so that might lessen the blow, as it were!

Well done on the walk! 👏 I’m sure the walk cancels out the crisps 👍

Good morning! I’m having a more relaxed eating/drinking day today because we have a party to go to later and family are visiting!

B: toast, three rashers of streaky bacon and an egg
L: going out, think I will go for something light like gyoza
D: also out at the party and it’s burgers! And also will be having drinks

so I know I won’t be under my calorie count today but I have been the rest of this week so just going to enjoy today and get back on counting tomorrow 😊👌💜

LegoTherapy · 19/09/2026 10:23

52.5kg this morning. 52.3kg was my lowest just before a colonoscopy 3 years ago after the awful prep I had to do. Not a nice experience.

I made soup yesterday and had done for dinner with some baguette. We’ve got a decent walk ahead of us today and plenty of fresh air. I’m so glad it’s the weekend. Must make some bread later.

Totally agree. The aroma is divine.

Sounds like a great day @LegoTherapy .

Have gained 900g in the last 2 weeks.. after losing 600g but i know why. I haven't been working out, haven't been getting my 10k steps a day and evn though i have been keeping to my calories (sometimes a little bit over), the quality of those calories...hmmm.

Aim is to try and get back to getting my 10k steps a day. I love walking.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 19/09/2026 16:47

Afternoon! 14 stone 2 still. Nutracheck reckons I should be 14 stone next week but we shall see.
