⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from LOSE IT! Joyful June 2026

Here we are with our July Jumpstart LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

@TheRealHousewife I’m also being very quiet as my weight loss is stagnant, week 4 of a plateau.
My exercise motivation is down. But I’ve had a beautiful road trip through the Canadian Rockies, visited with both sons and equally had friends visit.
Dh, wears a Libra 3 sensor; a tiny needle like filament that transmits via Bluetooth to his iPhone his blood sugar level 24/7 (for 15 days before a new sensor is needed). He’s been very good at maintaining his bs levels. Logs ALL his foods and counts carbs staying at 5-15 g per meal. His struggle at the end of the day is not enough calories. The readout plus the nutrition app accuracy has been excellent. The diabetic clinic had zero to add, told him to eat more carbs (aim for 30 g per meal) and yes eat more (he’s not overweight).
WLI have helped me with time to make better food choices, but I know there are metabolic advantages. I’ve been on a very low dose since April (zero side effects, simply content with the current lack of food noise).

Hi @BreakingBrokenthank you for your lovely reply. Your trip sounds wonderful 😍I’ve not been to Canada, but it sounds glorious. I periodically wear a libre 2 sensor to see where I’m at. They are very useful and I imagine for people with type 1 & type 2 diabetes they must be invaluable. In regards to GLP1 meds the pharmacist was recommending a daily 1.5mg Wegovy pill. I didn’t realise they did pill form. It’s the smallest dose they do he said. I can’t remember if he said the dose increased over time or not. I remain undecided as I’m still doing online research 🧐 Thanks again x

@Sunflowers83 I’m 165cm and 57kg. Which is below my initial target, but now I’m here I’m carrying on. I’m using my tits as a barometer, when they start to shrink I’ll move to maintenance. 😂

Thank you for sharing that. I’m a similar weight to you (8st12 this morning) but much shorter (157cm). I think I’m going to try to slightly increase my calories on Nutracheck and see if that helps with body recomposition. I think I’m so worried about losing my tummy fat, that I’m maybe not fuelling my body enough for my active lifestyle and to build muscle.

Sunflowers83 · 19/07/2026 20:05

@TheRealHousewife Your food pictures always look delicious. Sorry - I don’t have any advice or experience of GLP1 medication. Hope you are able to research/get advice to help you make the best decision for you.

LemonDrizzle23 · 20/07/2026 07:26

@TheRealHousewife your food always looks delicious and so healthy!

@Fellsbells “tits as a barometer” really made me laugh. And why not use that as a guide 🤷‍♀️

Ive definitely had another week at maintenance - no losses or gains showing yet. First day of the summer hols today. It’s still a lot cooler (thank god!) so we will be heading out to get some steps in before hair cuts and play dates start today.

I have three weeks til our next break, so would love to see another couple of pounds gone by then. We will be doing some active “go-ape” style stuff and I know that a couple of years ago I would have been too paranoid about my weight to join in, so I’m feeling very grateful for having made a change.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 20/07/2026 08:32

14/11 again. I was hoping for at least 14 stone 7 by now, I'm visiting family next week and they're all perfectly normal weights and I'm tired of being the literal elephant in the room!

Doctor tomorrow, although I don't even know what I'm going to ask really.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 20/07/2026 09:14

@TheRealHousewife from these threads I get the sense that you are very good at researching, weighing up pros and cons etc in order to make a good decision, and I'm sure you will do the same wrt Wegovy. Luckily there is a lot of scientific and anecdotal/experiential info out there, so reading and sitting with the decision sounds like a good shout. I wouldn't be entertaining thoughts about cheating though, or letting that sway your decision.

OMAD here today. Some sort of omelette/light English breakfast effort shortly then will try to stick to liquids and possibly watermelon as I've bought a monster one and it's so low-calorie and delicious in this heat.

Only just feeling better today after a week, no gym in all that time.

I can caution you that your trousers can become baggy/longer with weight loss and you can trip over the hem and bang your elbow. Which is what I did this morning!

My boobs are more likely to trip me over than my trousers 😬

Kitchen closed! Omelette, tomato salad, mini Magnum, my body weight in watermelon.

BreakingBroken · 21/07/2026 03:44

i need to use some of my tried and true strategies and step away from the fridge/cherries.
once my nail polish is drier i will brush my teeth, that always helps.

Morning all, struggling a little here, slooooooow weight loss and feeling rubbish with a summer cold that won’t shift. I have lost a couple of pounds in July but gosh, the effort. I have a good healthy Tesco order coming today. I have been watching a few things about volume eating, which appears to be just eating massive salads and lots of berries- I can do this! So I am going to try to increase my salad intake, cut down my cheese intake, and not drink until I go on holiday

And lots of water! Especially in this weather.

Apples, carrots, broccoli (can chargrill with a bit of lemon and garlic if you want it more summery), watermelon are also all good volume foods in my experience.

I’m off to a pancake place for lunch with my eldest today, so no one’s model for healthy eating!

TheRealHousewife · 21/07/2026 09:42

Good morning Everyone

Thank you @TheWayTheLightFalls @Sunflowers83 & @LemonDrizzle23 thats kind of you to say.

@LemonDrizzle23 Ive got everything crossed for your 3 weeks holiday countdown 🏖️

Thank you for the reassurance @TheWayTheLightFalls ❤️ I am going to accept the recommendation from the pharmacist for the smallest pill dose available and see if it aids in my insulin resistance and in time some fat loss 🤞. Enjoy your lunch date with your eldest x.

@DreamingOfGeneHunt Im sending a big reassuring hug and I hope you enjoy your time with your family. In regards to what to say to your GP. Say what you’ve said on here that you’re moving more, watching what you eat and report any other symptoms that you may have such as fatigue, any hair loss including bodily hair like brows, arms, legs etc. In my case, blood tests coupled with these symptoms were symptomatic of thyroid disease. I recently had my thyroid scanned and the lady commented how much my thyroid had actually shrunk 😮 She also said it’s very common for ladies going through peri-menopause or menopause to develop thyroid disease. Good luck 🤞 x

@IceLollly I hope your elbow is better this morning x

@BreakingBroken Teeth brushing is a great strategy. Also if feeling a bit hungry a nice long cool glass of water (with added psyllium if you don’t mind it) can put you on until your next meal. Also extra fibre generally can help lower blood sugar spikes 👍

@thenewaveragebear1983 Sorry to hear you have a cold. That must suck, especially in this heat. I hope you’re soon recovered! x

Menu
Meal 1 - Halloumi stir fry. Walnuts.
Meal 2 - Salmon salad. Greek yoghurt strawberry dessert (I mix sugar free jelly with Greek yoghurt and put in the fridge and it’s like a mouse or blancmange).

Drinks - Tea, black coffee & water.

Exercise - Light weights. Counter press-ups.

Just out of the doctor's. Basically said it's just a plateau, keep doing what I'm doing.

I've had my thyroid removed some years ago but I'm properly medicated so she doesn't think it's anything to do with that.

Quite frustrating. Oh well, we move on.

IceLollly · 21/07/2026 12:00

So I am not better and off to the docs for antibiotics, so no gym for another week probably.
My elbow is sore but okay, could have been worse.

10kstepsaday · 21/07/2026 20:36

Hi All
Just checking in
I have been keeping trying with healthy eating but my workouts have taken a side step now the kids are on holiday. I need to find a new routine and get into it.

Also been having some body problems, lots of acid reflux recently, heart palpitations and the other day I had a very funny turn when eating out with the kids - lost my hearing and my sight and thought I was going to pass out from tummy pain but then it passed thankfully, Will be making a GP appointment but it's making me unsure of what foods to avoid to prevent further symptoms so I have barely eaten for last few days. Could be stress related also. The body is a conundrum sometimes!!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 22/07/2026 05:54

Morning! WoW is 67kg here. Tiny bit higher, still in maintenance weight territory.

10k that sounds very frightening. I hope you get some answers soon.

Kitchenbattle · 22/07/2026 07:02

54.5kg this morning 🙌🙌 not far off my target weight. Which in the beginning of this was not my intention but I set a target and once I got that I’ll maintain as much as I can.

LemonDrizzle23 · 22/07/2026 07:09

@10kstepsaday sorry to hear that. I hope it was just a weird one off for you. I totally get the school
holidays changing your routine. I never lose weight over the holidays and am aiming to make a change this time.

A very small loss this week, but hopefully that means I‘m back in a deficit after being away. A whole 0.2lbs off.

Good morning WOWers

I’m using my Happy Scale trend weight, and started on 24th June (4 weeks ago) with a weight of 66.5kg.

I hit my first milestone (65.2kg) on 13th July

This morning after weighing my trend is 64.7kg (actual weight this morning was 64.9kg, slightly up 0.1kg on this time last week so thanks to Happy Scale smoothing I know I am still going in the right direction).

Next milestone is 63.5kg with a predicted date of 8th August now. (It has moved further out due to my loss slowing this week and I know it will extend further as I do not intend to restrict my intake too much on holiday).

So why did my loss slow? Because I have averaged 1720 calories per day over the last 7 days. Planned, due to social events, (wine, cake, and ice cream the main culprits) but very close to maintenance calories for me so not enough deficit for a decent loss.

According to the trend I’ve lost 1.8kg in total in 4 weeks. Not as much as I would have liked with my holiday coming up but better than nothing! Once I’m back from holiday I’ll concentrate on cutting out the snacks completely for a while.

Fellsbells · 22/07/2026 08:26

Good luck wowers.
I must be in a plateau too, my weight has bounced around the same 1lb for three weeks now. I’m hoping for an end of the month whoosh next week.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 22/07/2026 08:45

14 stone 9 this morning!

IceLollly · 22/07/2026 10:47

Sick as a dog 🤣 but my weight has not changed. Antibiotics are making me hungry though.
