⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from LOSE IT! Joyful June 2026

Here we are with our July Jumpstart LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

SW: 89kg
CW: 78kg
goal weight: under 70kg
Next Happy Scale target: 77.6

didn’t get in the 77s yet. Lost 0.5kg this week so thats good anyway.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 01/07/2026 10:14

I'm in a size 16 dress today! That's down from size 24 in August 2024.

WhatMaggieDidNext · 01/07/2026 10:31

Starting weight 12 stone 😳 (I’m 5ft 5 so that gives me a BMI of nearly 29 🫣
Goal weight 9st 6lbs…

I’m giving up alcohol, trying to be more consistent with exercise and have entered a 10k in the middle of August so I’ve got to get some weight off by then.
Hoping this thread makes me more accountable 🤞

moondip · 01/07/2026 10:32

Well done everyone for the scale and non-scale victories you’re signing into July with, and also those who are less happy but are still trucking on 🛻 🙌

I have weighed this morning and am barely down 1kg from the start of June, despite seeing some great lows last month that I wasn’t able to maintain. It’s spurred me back on a track a bit though. I will be weighing again tomorrow morning as I’d already had brekky and two coffees when I weighed for WoW.

SW: 101.2kg
CW: 87.65kg
GW: 80kg

Bufftailed · 01/07/2026 10:38

Checking in. Down 2.7 kg in June

SW 84 kg
CW 81.3 kg
GW 72 kg

Piglet89 · 01/07/2026 11:22

Signing in for July! I’ve been feeling really low and I think a big part of it is lifestyle (tho probably peri too)

RoseInAPot · 01/07/2026 12:03

I’m using my Happy Scale trend weight, and started last Wednesday with a weight of 66.5kg.

This morning after weighing my trend is 66.2kg (actual weight this morning was 65.7kg so definitely now heading in the right direction).

Next milestone is 65.2kg with a predicted date of 16th July.

I have averaged 1470 calories per day over the last 7 days so could drop lower by cutting out some snacks if necessary but will see how I feel.

ETA: Long term goal is 58.5kg but I would be delighted to be anywhere below 60kg (I’m fairly short, 1.61m)
Lowish carbs, counting calories, logging on Nutracheck.

ChunkyMonkey36 · 01/07/2026 17:41

2lbs off, might move house every week!

  • Start: 16 st 10 lb (106.1 kg)
  • Current: 15 st 5.5 lb (97.8 kg)
  • Total lost: 18.5 lb (1 st 4.5 lb / 8.4 kg)
Doseydots · 01/07/2026 18:10

I have finished eating for the day, I will floss my teeth which means I won’t be tempted. There were lots of treats at work today, I had a few but not my usual binge. Just had an omelette for tea which was delicious.

Exercise today was a dog walk, cycle to work and I gym session. Not bad for day 1.

BreakingBroken · 01/07/2026 18:30

starting the day 163.4 (up from yesterday 162.7)
SW 186.6
GW 140
really looking forward to 159.9...the 50's

June saw me loose just over 6lbs and it would be nice to do that again this month.
Plan is to continue to move more and eat less. Today is Canada Day; wearing red ✅wearing maple leaf ✅parking far away and walking to see what's on offer at the main riverside park ✅10,000 steps by noon!

Sunflowers83 · 01/07/2026 21:25

Well done, everyone.

I posted last night, but want to form the habit of joining in for wow, so posting today’s update using my Happy Scale ‘moving average’.

SW (16.06.26): 8st13
Current: 8st11.7
Target weight: ??8st?? (Lose tummy fat!)

Does anyone take measurements of waist, hips, etc to also track progress? Someone on Nutracheck recommended to me that I should do this as I think changing my body composition is more of a target for me (I’m at a healthy BMI but gained fat around my middle over the last year). However, I find it really hard to know that I’m measuring accurately. I find it hard to know that I’m positioning the tape measure in exactly the same place! Does anyone else find this?

TheRealHousewife · 01/07/2026 21:48

Good Evening All

Late post due to being out today at a family funeral.

WOW - Up 1.5lbs

I ended the month of June on 9st 5lbs and I’ve started the month of July on 9st 6.5lb 😳😳😳

Right, it’s time to roll the sleeves up and knuckle down to it. 👍

I’ll read up tomorrow ❤️

@Sunflowers83 yes I have taken measurements for arm, waist, hips, and thighs. Measuring monthly.

@TheRealHousewife sorry for your loss x

Today looked like:
Breakfast: Raspberry Smoothie
Lunch: Tofu Wrap
Dinner: Chicken Salas
Snacks: Olives, Cheese, 1 x Nakd Bar

30 minute Yoga & 15 minute step workout completed this morning.

socks1107 · 01/07/2026 23:22

Just marking my place! Hope everyone’s ok

TealSloth · 02/07/2026 04:49

Morning all. Hope everyone is well. Am hoping to have a positive day today. Keep my portions to 3 and no snacking.

Rosetime · 02/07/2026 05:35

@TheRealHousewife , sorry for your loss. My condolences to your whole family.

The 1.5 lbs increase sounds like the usual weight fluctuations our bodies have. You certainly didn't gain 1.5 lbs of fat overnight.

You are dedicated and committed, so that 1.5lbs would be fleeing in no time.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 02/07/2026 07:06

Morning! 14 stone 12, which I know isn't actual weight because I haven't gone over anything.

LemonDrizzle23 · 02/07/2026 07:19

Sorry to hear that @TheRealHousewife, funerals can be very challenging.

An overnight whoosh for me - have dropped down to 13 st 6.6, so my next Happy Scale goal is 13st.

Now only 8lbs away from dropping out of the “obese” category, which feels very doable.

FridayNighFeeling · 02/07/2026 16:04

Thanks for the new thread and sorry for your loss @TheRealHousewife

I did not weigh this week. On Sunday I was 5lbs up, Monday was even higher and my period showed up, so just waiting it out. Food hasn't been great (stressful week and I eat my feelings) but tried reasonably successfully to get back on track today. Having tea in an hour and then going out, so that'll be me done for the day.

Doseydots · 02/07/2026 18:20

Terrible day with all the treats in the office. As from now I am back on it. I wish my sugar cravings would just do one.

IceLollly · 03/07/2026 21:56

Big gym session ln yesterday and a class today. Ended up starving and knackered. It’s a hard balance with dieting .
i tried on my target jeans, can get them fully on but still a big snug on the waist. But they are loser on the thighs than last week, few weeks more and maybe wearable.

Doseydots · 04/07/2026 05:49

A massive gym session sounds good @IceLollly and you are right it’s a hard balance.

i am going to try my hardest to stay track this weekend. I am focusing on my mindset as I feel not listening to the demons in my head helps so much

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/07/2026 07:55

Good morning all. Sorry for your loss @TheRealHousewife.

The weekend is looking promising ahead, I have a hygienist appointment first thing which although a strange brutal torture, can be energising and I like to have lovely clean teeth and I can then start using my strips again! Exercise wise, well
its going to be hot. I plan to get up early doors tomorrow to do some miles before it gets too warm. Today I am gardening and doing chores. Food wise, I’m going to wait til after the dentist and will probably have eggs for a sort of brunch as we have loads in that need eaten. My shopping order is coming at 5 and tonight we are having burgers, cheese and salad. I can take or leave the bun. My family are coming tomorrow and I have bought things to make 2 nice sandwich fillings- 1, a seafood sauce and prawns, salmon and crab, and 2. Some chicken, bacon, sweetcorn and ranch dressing. Plus something leafy for the vegans 🌱. Nice breads, new potatoes grown in my own garden 😋

so all looking promising, nothing major to stand in my way except possibly alcohol although I may just have a g&t instead of wine which is easier to ration I think.

have a lovely Saturday

socks1107 · 04/07/2026 07:59

Morning all.

I am a touch down on the scales today, haven’t made next weeks holiday goal and looking back at my diary I’ve been eating to maintenance most of June which is unsurprising given all the social events I’ve had. Will stick to it this week, enjoy my holiday and get back on it for the rest of July and August. Hopefully after that I should be at my final goal - eventually…..

LemonDrizzle23 · 04/07/2026 08:23

Happy weekend everyone!

Im weighing in again at 13 st 6.6 this morning, which suggests I own it instead of it being a fluke, which is nice.

I never feel like I can see or feel that much difference in my clothes, but my summer shorts of the last two years are now loose, so there definitely has been some change.

Standard weekend here - sports clubs and a party. Not looking forward to a week of 30C heat next week! Might need to change my dinner menus a bit as won’t want to cook!
