⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️ LOSE IT! July Jumpstart 2026⭐️

Here we are with our Active August LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!
Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone
after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Hi @TheRealHousewife thank you for the new thread. I’m leaping on for August!

Would love to see another 2 or 3lbs off in August, and then aim to see my next big goal in September.
Only going away for one week in the month, so definitely possible!

10kstepsaday · 30/07/2026 16:42

Checking in for August!
Lost a grand total of half a pound for July 😅 so need to lock back in. Let's go!!

Thank you for the new thread 🙂

FlyingWithBabyLongHaul · 30/07/2026 19:48

Finally joining one of these threads after reading them for so long!

Starting weight: 10st 7lbs (after having 2 babies in 2 years) 👶🏻👶🏻
Current weight: 8st 8lbs
Target weight: 8st 0lbs

My current plan is to eat maintenance calories for the next couple of weeks as I've been eating in a deficit for what feels like forever! I'll then go back calorie counting, and continuing with daily walking, and a 1 hour Bootcamp class (twice a week).

Joyful26 · 30/07/2026 21:37

Hi there, this thread would be perfect for me so I would love to join please?

I’m going to have time in August to work on my health, fitness and diet, so it will be great to have some guidance while I do it.

I’ve been ‘trying’ for years but keep on giving up.
I’m now realising I’ve got to make a proper effort. As continuing as I am is going to make me much fatter, as it just keeps piling on round my stomach.

I’m nearly 50 and a few of my friends have diabetes and health issues. I can now see that I’m on the borderline of all that.

I generally think of myself as a fit and healthy person. But I basically eat too much.

I’ve just been on a group holiday and realised that I basically eat more than everyone else m. There’s not really some secret or conundrum as to why I’m overweight- I just eat more.

my stats are: 5’6 and 75kg. Size 14-16.

this year I wanted to get under 70kg. That is feeling hard as I’m going in the opposite direction. Started the year at 72kg.

Thank you @TheRealHousewife checking in for August.

BreakingBroken · Yesterday 01:12

place marking for august 1st.
i love august!! i hope to see my motivation level increase.

Rosetime · Yesterday 09:21

@TheRealHousewife , thank-you for the new thread. How is the bite going? Swelling fully resolved?

I haven't posted for some weeks but i have been reading the posts.
I have been keeping up (not excellently) - with my steps, water intake, strength training and sleep.

Calorie counting continues to go well. Depending on the day, I am 3.7 - 4kg away from my target weight.

TealSloth · Yesterday 11:11

Checking in thankyou

DandelionPockets · Yesterday 16:10

Joining this month.

FiveShelties · Today 03:39

May I join please? I have been messing about all year, probably lost around 6 pounds every month and then regained 6.5 pounds every month!

So August has to be the month I do the losing and stop the regaining.😁I will be 70 this month and this has to stop.

Weighed in at 151.4 pounds and want to be 143, so 8.4 to go. I intend to lose by sticking to 1400 calories, walking 11,000 steps and dramatically reducing alcohol.

Have a great August everyone.

LemonDrizzle23 · Today 06:51

Officially the 1st of August! I was going to do a weigh in, but according to the scales I’ve put on 2lbs in the last 2 days, so I’m ignoring that 😂

Lets call August start weight 13 st 5.5.

Fellsbells · Today 07:43

First of the month stats round up. 10 weeks of a consistent, sustainable calorie deficit. Exactly 1 stone off.

I’m slowly increasing calories now to find my maintenance amount. I know from past experience this is where I can gain weight quickly if I don’t stay in the right mindset. I need to keep the same habits, but with slightly more calories.

Good luck for August everyone.

Mags2014 · Today 07:48

Hi guys, I'd like to join from this month too 😊

I've been in slump for a while after losing about 7kgs last year and I can see the weight is slowly creeping up when I actually have another 10-15kgs to lose but I feel motivated to get back on it.

Also my partner who's always been slim and has no issues with motivation has joined a gym and she is now seriously toned with a little 2-pack and seeing her has inspired me to get back on it!

Rosetime · Today 09:03

Welcome @FiveShelties and @Mags2014 . Here's to not regaining lost & unwanted weight.

This month of August, i plan to focus on my strength training and water intake.
