⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from LOSE IT! Joyful June 2026

Here we are with our July Jumpstart LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

a good morning weight here as well.
i'm hoping if i stay focused over the next 5 days I could end the month having done okay (not fab but simply okay).
horrid air quality and high temps means little to no exercise on many days, i have however gone swimming every few days and mustered a solid 45 minute routine of strokes (lots of breast stroke, some free and back ending with 5 minutes of eggbeater/legs only). my thoughts are that different movement patterns to my usual walking for exercise will use different muscle groups and help with muscle tone.
one significant food "mistake", while out and about i tasted some home made salted caramel. I tried the recipe and it was not only easy but tasted amazing.
much more caramel getting eaten than green apple...

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 26/07/2026 10:54

Morning! Was very good yesterday, walked 7 ish miles, still up to 14 stone 11 today!!

Oh well. We're going to stay with family on Wednesday and I'm dreading it, there's nowhere to walk, nothing to do and I'm the only fat oneSad of course I love them all but it's hard.

FridayNighFeeling · 26/07/2026 12:18

Can you go for a little drive to somewhere like a canal, nature reserve or National trust property under the guise of having a coffee and a walk for a change? Obviously don't imagine anyone will want to walk 7 miles Grin @DreamingOfGeneHunt

I got on the scales this morning and it said -24lbs, so up overall about 5lbs. But I know some of that is period related, some of it the McD's we had at the services yesterday. Just a shame we are looking at another scorching week as that also messes up the scales.
Plan for today: yog, berries, weighed granola + hot choc, jacket with salad and ham, ice cream, salmon, broccoli and savoury rice. Should be comfortably at 1600-700 cals which is good range for me.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 26/07/2026 13:17

@FridayNighFeeling there isn't anywhere for miles (I mean like 60 miles at least and that's being generous) unless you want to do mountain climbing or walk up big hills/back down big hills, which I don't!
The nearest village is 4 miles down a big hill. Two shops and a tourist info place😬 and then back up the big hill.

I shall just have to suck it up and complain bitterly on the insideGrin

FridayNighFeeling · 26/07/2026 13:21

Yikes, but if you did walk down and back you'd have given yourself an amazing workout. Good luck with the visit

ToddlersAreBananas · 26/07/2026 13:28

Can I join please?

I had a baby at the end of April, and throughout June I think I lost much of the bloating and water weight - but have still had a pretty upf diet (chips and choc 😋)

Now, I think I'd like to consider becoming a bit healthier and returning to pre baby weight.

Current - 10st 4lb
Goal - 9st 3lb by 1st December
Height - 5' 5"

I'm not going to be focusing on numbers, and I want to take it slow because I'm breastfeeding.

I'm not sure if my goal is too fast?

LemonDrizzle23 · 26/07/2026 14:57

@DreamingOfGeneHunt I had a similar thought before we went away in June - 6 adults in the house and I was the only obese one and several were super fit. I hadn’t lost as much as I wanted to before I left. I went, I felt awkward and cross with myself, but very quickly it was over (and I did have fun as well.) I plan to be smaller by the summer next year, that’s all I can do 🤷‍♀️

Welcome @ToddlersAreBananas congratulations on your little one!

10kstepsaday · 26/07/2026 19:37

No workout today, so tired had 2 naps !!
B: chia Seed Pudding
L: Sweet Potato & Chickpea salad
D: Chicken Stir Fry

I made a '"healthy" brownie recipe today using black beans and ground almonds, very gooey and tasty 😋

FridayNighFeeling · 26/07/2026 21:14

Gosh - hungry this evening, but I know that will pass.

Welcome @ToddlersAreBananas Just see how you go without too much pressure is the way forward.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 27/07/2026 08:42

socks1107 · 27/07/2026 09:55

Good Morning All

Welcome to the thread @Sunflowers83 Thank you and I agree with you. The ladies you’ll find on these threads are simply lovely 🥰

@LemonDrizzle23 Im the same in regards to the heat … dare I say I’m ready for Autumn and the countdown to Christmas 🎄😅. Well done on your end of week loss 👍

@FridayNighFeeling Sounds fab! I love spending time by the sea. Hope all goes well Osteo!

@10kstepsaday The baked sweet potato dish sounds lovely 😋

@Kitchenbattle Thats fantastic progress! Well done 👏

@BreakingBroken Well done on getting the swims in when the weather is so hot 🥵

@DreamingOfGeneHunt Awesome walking distance 👏👏👏

@ToddlersAreBananas (love the tag 😅) Congratulations on your new baby and welcome to the thread.

Well my little dabble with the Wegovy 1.5mg pill is now temporarily on hold (after taking for about a week) due to needing a 3 week course of antibiotics for an infected insect bite. I’ve ordered special prebiotics and probiotics to try to keep some good bacteria around. I’ve prided myself on not needing antibiotics for at least 10 years but needs must.

I can’t stop thinking of the fire he’ll going on in Europe. All these wildfires are really unprecedented and very unsettling 😢. Hope everyone can keep themselves, their life stock and their animals safe 🙏.

Hi all, signing in for pre-holiday OMAD. Let’s see.

socks1107 · 27/07/2026 12:53

@TheRealHousewife sorry to hear you’ve had to stop, there’s loads of little biting bugs this year I’ve found. Hope you are feeling better soon.
I’m day 2 on Wegovy tablet and feel fine. Can’t really face what I was going to have for lunch so will choose another option. Bit quesy today but I have a horrible head cold.

Hoping my weigh on Thursday will be a loss then continued and not a bounce back like the last six months 🤣

have a good week everyone

TheRealHousewife · 27/07/2026 16:08

Thank you @socks1107 The GP suspects Limes disease as I have developed a very sore, swollen bulls eye (red centre, ring of white, further larger red swollen ring. I’ve drawn around it to track its spread. Now my lymph nodes are up in my groin. 😭. Limes is the last thing I need on top of everything else. Feeling somewhat sorry for myself, which is unusual.

Speedy recovery @TheRealHousewife
fingers crossed it’s not lyme but good that your dr is aware it’s a possibility.

10kstepsaday · 27/07/2026 19:25

Oh no @TheRealHousewife that sounds utterly rubbish! I hope you recover soon!!

Today was:
40 minute dumbbell workout
B: porridge with Chia, Banana & PB
L: Sweet pot & chickpea salad
D: Jerk Chicken
Snacks: belvita biscuits, 1 small portion of the black bean brownies

TheWayTheLightFalls · 27/07/2026 19:34

That sounds awful @TheRealHousewife , I'm very very sorry to hear. I'm glad you're on your way to a diagnosis and hopefully treatment soon.

ToddlersAreBananas · 27/07/2026 21:26

Thank you for the welcome everyone, especially
@TheRealHousewife @FridayNighFeeling @LemonDrizzle23

I'm heading off to my friend's for a couple of days, so will miss my official weigh in. However, I checked this morning and, after two days of determination, conscious eating, and avoiding upf....
I've gained a pound 😂 oh well - hopefully onwards and downwards...

Fellsbells · 27/07/2026 22:06

Oh no @TheRealHousewife you don’t need that. I hope the antibiotics sort it out asap.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 28/07/2026 09:36

How are you feeling @TheRealHousewife any better?

I'm still 14 stone 12. I'm on the verge of giving up.

Fellsbells · 28/07/2026 12:55

@DreamingOfGeneHunt so frustrating for you. Hope the plateau ends soon.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 28/07/2026 13:14

We're going away tomorrow so I'm going to stick myself on maintenance calories until we get home. I think a break from it will do me good mentally. It gets a bit all-consuming!

TheRealHousewife · 28/07/2026 13:31

Hi Everyone

Thank you for the well wishes. I’ve had to visit GP again as overnight the swelling and redness spread over an 1inch all the way around the pen line plus the area swelled outwardly considerably. Cellulitis and skin splitting is now present too. Prescribed a different higher dose antibiotic for a week then have to recommence the 3 week Lyme disease protocol. 4 weeks of antibiotics 😭. Also all manner of lotions and potions to treat the skin.

Hoping you all have a good WOW tomorrow 🤞❤️
