Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! February Fitness 2026⭐️

February was gone in a flash! Sunny skies will soon be back ☀️

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself. One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.

After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Happy WOW ladies! I’m a tiny little 200g down this week - feeling frustrated with the pace of my loss over the past 6 weeks or so, and have basically stayed the same for the whole of March. I think I might have to try cutting calories a bit more, and upping protein to make sure I stay full.

moondip · 25/03/2026 20:52

Thanks @Emmadaily 💜

Fellsbells · 26/03/2026 09:46

Yesterday was a great day, well under calories and a 5km run. I’ve dropped 1.5lbs overnight which is obviously water, but it’s still nice to be going in the right direction.

FridayNighFeeling · 26/03/2026 12:57

Well done @moondip

Thanks @Emmadaily sounds like you're doing well too

How's work going @biscuitcat ? Remember you've got a lot of adjustments going on so don't fret too much. At least it's not piling on. Sometimes treading water for a bit is goo enough!

I'm pleased today to see another little dip on the scales. -26.5lbs. Going to take iron now (trying to keep anemia at bay now I've got my iron to a good level) and got a class tonight, so will take creatine after so may see what the scales say on Saturday morning before the holiday mode kicks in Blush

Emmadaily · 26/03/2026 13:46

Well done @FridayNighFeeling
Have a fab holiday and hopefully your iron levels stay favourable to .
Love this thread and all the positive comments and knowing how you all going on with the support here.
Will stay positive myself for Saturday's weigh in and report in.
Hugs all round 🤗
Xx

Checking in with 53.6kg this morning. I couldn’t WOW due to being away. Day off today and hoping to both relax with some Lego and get some jobs done. Well done to all the wowers!

TealSloth · 27/03/2026 07:29

Morning ladies hope your all well. Wanted to share some success with ladies here. Ive finally stopped eating at night. When I got back from work late at 11pm last night I had cup of tea with 1 buiscut. Which is better than eating heavy food before bed. Always needed something warm before bed. Its been a real success for me last night I am pleased.
Have a good day ladies.

ChunkyMonkey36 · 27/03/2026 09:41

I bought scales for the first time in over a decade, after a few… unpleasant doctor’s appointments.

The whole family weighed ourselves last night - I was 106kg.

I’m not surprised, but also not impressed with myself. I’ve always been big, but hovered around 14st for years, I don’t think I’d realised the increase was that dramatic. It appears my mid/late 30s aren’t being kind to me.

About to start doing something about it but honestly, apart from switching the milk we drink and buying some Greek yoghurt, I’m at a complete loss. Useless at dieting, always have been.

Today will involve looking at recipes and ideas online, I’ve downloaded a calorie counter, and it looks like it’s lose some podge planning time.

Fellsbells · 27/03/2026 09:56

Good luck @ChunkyMonkey36 you’ll get lots of advice and support here. If you’re looking at calorie counting use a free online TDEE calculator to accurately work out how many calories a day you need. The bog standard 2000 for women is wildly inaccurate.

Yesterday was another good day for me and I’m back at my OG target weight. I don’t own it yet and my new target is lower, but I’m very happy to be here. My new goal is to feel confident in my body for summer when hiding under coats and jumpers isn’t doable.

ChunkyMonkey36 · 27/03/2026 11:18

@Fellsbells

Thank you - looking at it my maintenance is just over 2k. I’ve set it at 1500 for now, hoping that deficit will start to encourage some movement.

I can’t decide whether to move my weigh ins to a Monday morning (it was about 7pm last night).

I’ve always struggled most with feeling like I’m being overly restricted when I try and diet, and then I just end up giving up. Hoping doing some recipe digging will help find things that are still good to eat but also healthier.

That’s so good, well done you! I’m going to stagger my goals too, so it’s not too overwhelming. I bet you are very happy with your progress, sounds well earned too!

FridayNighFeeling · 27/03/2026 13:27

@ChunkyMonkey36 different people will have different approaches but I would:

  • not cut too drastically - track what you're eating now for a week, then cut down by say 200cal a day and then maybe to 300-400
  • don't buy diet anything. Blue milk, full fat yog - it keeps you full and your body does need fat
  • eating protein each meal definitely helps - I do Fage, careful measure of granola or similar and berries, chicken flatbread and salad and then normal family dinner like lasagne, curry and rice, roast whatever
  • Real food as much as possible eg better to eat an apple than drink a glass of juice, better to have a stir fry than a take away, a jacket potato is a better meal than crisps - but don't go too crazy. I try to focus on caring for myself and part of that is nourishing meals rather than deprivation
  • Intermittent fasting - i eat my calories as a rule between 9:30 and 5:30
Hopefully some ideas to think about. Good luck!
biscuitcat · 27/03/2026 14:40

Thanks for checking in @FridayNighFeeling 💜 it’s actually lovely being back - I’m really lucky that I enjoy my job and have lovely colleagues, so it hasn’t felt like a wrench, which I know it can for some. Very tiring though! But I think that will improve as I get back into the swing of things.

Today’s meals:

L - goats cheese omelette with some chips
D - out for dinner with DH, and won’t be going mad but equally it’s one of my favourite restaurants so won’t stint myself either!

We’re at a wedding tomorrow so probably won’t really track, then hopefully on it again afterwards.

VividDeer · 28/03/2026 08:35

Hello.
I have hit a bit of a plateau and worried about holiday and easter. But, finally something to celebrate... half way...
Sharing my app progress as I can't really keep telling everyone in real life.

Morning after a long time on my weekend off am heading towards my gym. Its been a hard start to the year. But I will do it. Am on the ball.
Have a good weekend ladies.

LegoTherapy · 28/03/2026 09:06

@VividDeerthat’s fantastic, well done! Don’t worry about Easter. It’s what we usually do regarding diet and exercise that matters so enjoy the holiday.

I gave up chocolate for Lent but developed a taste for fudge. I checked the calories yesterday and over 700 calories a box! I’ve eaten quite a few boxes 😳 The good news is that I can now eat nuts so I’m going to enjoy some toblerone at Easter. Other than that now that it’s the holidays from school I need to focus on healthier eating. I’m not eating much but most of what I’m eating isn’t healthy.

LemonDrizzle23 · 28/03/2026 09:24

Well done @VividDeer that’s a great milestone!

Im glad your return has gone smoothly @biscuitcatIt can be hard to get your brain back in the right space!

We had a heavy-ish night last night, including steak and cocktails, good fun, but my head is not appreciating it this morning 😂 Does yoga clear a hangover? Asking for a friend….

Fellsbells · 28/03/2026 11:16

Amazing progress @VividDeer well done.

well done on getting to the gym @TealSloth

@LemonDrizzle23 sounds like a well deserved night.

I’ve lost another lb. The water weight I can go up and down by is crazy. I’ve lost the best part of 4lbs this week. Just need to resist the takeaway tonight so I don’t eat it all back on.

VividDeer · 28/03/2026 11:39

@Fellsbells 4lbs, bloody hek well done
I know what you mean about a takeaway. Last time I had Chinese I was 4lbs heavier for almost a week. I know it comes off, but I'm prone to giving up so it's a disaster mentally.

TealSloth · 28/03/2026 14:54

Pasta4Dinner · 29/03/2026 21:45

ive not lost any meaningful weight this year. I go to the gym 3 times a week and do at least one class. There’s definitely something off - either I eat too much or too little.
I am shrinking slightly though and clothes are getting too big.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 30/03/2026 07:25

pasta - you’re likely gaining muscle and your body shape is changing, but you aren’t creating a calorie deficit to have you lose weight, is my guess. But you are making strides in other areas.

Signing in for OMAD here. I’m housesitting for a friend so again it’s not going to be the most straightforward day. Argh.

socks1107 · 30/03/2026 10:46

Good morning all, I’m back from my holiday which was much needed.

I have only put on 2lbs so very pleased (we do a lot of walking on holiday) back to it now. 7lbs to goal and 14 weeks till my next break away so plenty of time to get there.
I’m going to add in calorie cycling again now to enjoy the weekends a bit more and am happy with half a pound loss a week. we always hold the gym in winter too so that restarts this week which I am actually really looking fwd to!
Will catch up with everyone later.

LemonDrizzle23 · 30/03/2026 17:27

Glad to hear the holiday was reviving @socks1107!

We are off for a UK cottage break next week - hoping the weather behaves itself a bit as we have some days out planned.

Today has been good, calories on point so far and cycling and yoga done. Determined not to come to a stand still this holiday! Although the yoga is currently not Adrienne, but the Cosmic kids one (to keep DS engaged). A lot less breathing, and a lot more trying to get my foot up by my ear like it’s a telephone, which I am very bad at 😂

TheWayTheLightFalls · 30/03/2026 20:13

That's quite the image @LemonDrizzle23 Grin

OMAD was ok here. Persian soup is off the menu at my cafe, argh! I had Persian eggs instead. They were delicious. I seem to be a one-woman Persian food appreciation society.

My other win lately - since my surgery I have gotten into a consistent routine with weights, just at home in the morning while everyone else is still sleeping. Pushups, lifts etc. And it is slowly starting to make a difference I think.
