Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! February Fitness 2026⭐️

February was gone in a flash! Sunny skies will soon be back ☀️

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself. One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.

After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

I’ve yo-yoed up and down rather than seen a consistent loss. Unfortunately I lose quickly for a specific event then gain it all back. I lost nearly a stone in 6 months last year to get to GW and have maintained that for the last 5 months (until this week!) My aim is always one pound a week, but it never looks like that because of hormones and carbs.

TheRealHousewife · 02/03/2026 14:48

Good Afternoon Everyone 🙂

Welcome to the thread @cupfinalchaos @Jellycatrabbit @petitpasta 👍

Im basically maintaining but would love to lose half a stone. I’m not cutting calories further as it affects my sleep and hair so I’m making the most of where I am for now.

Im so happy that the days are at long last getting lighter and brighter! Roll on true spring with spring like weather ☀️

@petitpasta Youve done fantastically well to date! Congratulations 🥳. I’ve also bought the DL book and I recommend the red lentil bagels. There’s a photo up thread of one I made last week. x

You're very welcome ladies @TheWayTheLightFalls @Fellsbells x

Menu
Meal 1 - Red Lentil Bagel with spicy avocado & side salad. Pecans.
Meal 2 - Chicken stir fry. Greek yoghurt & berries.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea & water.

I’m the same really!! Peaks and troughs … literally at times 🐷

LemonDrizzle23 · 02/03/2026 18:58

Good day today. Stationary bike and a slow walk, as well as half an hour of yoga. Food has gone pretty according to plan.

Have thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine today! So much nicer than doing the school run in the pouring rain! Have also treated myself to some yoga blocks.

Avoiding weighing til Wednesday….

TheWayTheLightFalls · 02/03/2026 19:32

It was three fried eggs and some toast at 9am here, before I zoomed off to physio. That's it for the day. Not ideal but fine, with coffee, water etc. Will be eating well tmrw I reckon!

FridayNighFeeling · 02/03/2026 20:40

Hi all and thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife

@LemonDrizzle23 sorry to hear you fell over - I did the same on Friday! Bruised and sore, but not out of action thankfully.

Food has been but I have been walking a lot. Something like 14 miles last week and did 5 more today and planning another 5-7.5 tomorrow. It has kept my weight in check a bit I think.

Intention for March - look after myself: nourishing food, starting my classes, keeping up with walking and my osteo given exercises and currently reading Addicted to Anxiety which I'm hoping will help my mindset.

Good luck all!

Didodiane · 03/03/2026 06:18

This looks like a positive group to help me on my weight loss journey 😊 Have a bmi of 29 and would like to get under 25. Been overweight for the last 5 years or so, and Covid didn't help. I'm doing WW online and have lost 8 pounds since middle of Jan this year. Also doing some weights and walking...hope to increase my miles as the weather picks up. Onwards and downwards everyone!

CW - 13.3
GW - 11.5

LegoTherapy · 03/03/2026 07:50

Radiant, you say?! Not going to happen but here for the accountability. I gave up after Christmas and have just started to reel myself back in. Still hovering around 8st 6lb but will weigh properly tomorrow.

socks1107 · 03/03/2026 08:13

@LemonDrizzle23 sorry you fell over, I’m a bit of a tumbler so know how you feel.

@Didodiane welcome to the group. It’s a fab little group. Really helped with my weight loss the twelve months.

Im managing well on 1350 calories and loosing again. I’ve decided to stop WOW as it’s always an inflated weight due to it being an office day and weighing early. I was happy with a good loss at the weekend and will check in Thursdays if that’s ok or count the Saturday and record it here on Wednesday. I’m 0.9 away from my holiday goal which is in two weeks so it’s looking hopeful!!

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 03/03/2026 09:41

Checking in! February was a write off for losing, I don’t feel like I’ve gained but I don’t want to get in the scales! Pretty annoyed with myself but March is a new month! I kept tracking mainly through Feb, but I just couldn’t make myself really commit to go under my calorie count each week, I wasn’t feeling it! Going to try and commit for this month and get myself closer to that 9st goal 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 03/03/2026 09:43

Oh and @FridayNighFeelingwhat is Addicted to anxiety like? I may give it a read, I struggle on and off with anxiety and my levels were high last week. I was doing my regular yoga for the first couple weeks of Feb but tailed off and I know that results in my anxiety spiking, I just had such low motivation this last week to eat well/exercise etc because I was just so so busy with the kids and work etc!

TheRealHousewife · 03/03/2026 09:56

Good Morning All 🙂

Welcome to the thread @Didodiane 👍

You’re welcome @FridayNighFeeling x. I’ll look the Addicted to Anxiety book up. I’m a lifelong anxiety sufferer (along with some aspects of ptsd) It sucks and is so draining. I’ve been unlucky enough to meet too many people who see it as a weakness and home in and press buttons. Not kind.

Menu
Meal 1 - Broccoli & Stilton soup. Lentil bagel. Walnuts.
Meal 2 - Chickpea & greens stir fry. Greek yoghurt & chopped pea. Cocoa Nibs.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea and water 💧

Image is homemade mackerel pate on gf seeded bread I had for a lunch previously x

Am on. very behind due to multiple crap taking place plate over flowing with problems. Weight has gone up due to me eating at night. For some reason I can't back off from eating crap. Hope 5hks month i can have a better outcome.

LemonDrizzle23 · 03/03/2026 15:07

Thank you @FridayNighFeeling and @socks1107. It was one of those awkward moments where you get up and try and convince all concerned onlookers that you’re totally fine, and then stagger off and realise you’re really not fine 😂

Good day today, following my meal plan and heading to the gym while DS swims in a bit. Will join WOW tomorrow with my fingers crossed!

FridayNighFeeling · 03/03/2026 18:05

@HappyLittleTreeFriend & @TheRealHousewife I think it's a good book, but I've looked at it in such a bitty way when I get a few minutes that I will probably need to go over it again once I'm done, but some good insights and techniques.

Fellsbells · 03/03/2026 18:33

I’d forgotten it was WOW tomorrow. That will be the incentive to eat again today.

This week is going well so far. I’ve had a big breakfast and just fruit for lunch which has worked well as long as I have an early, filling dinner.

FreshLemonZest · 03/03/2026 18:49

Happy March everyone. The sun has finally made an appearance here. I shouldn't moan as I know all if you in the U.K are having horrendous weather, but it has rained so much that it started coming through the ceiling! After a non start to 2026, I have buckled down this week, and feel more in the mindset. Haven't snacked and have stayed on top of my calories. I have to make a change, needed to have a check up to complete some paperwork, and I apparently have high blood pressure. I am sure it is a result of my weight so no more excuses. Feeling hopeful for tomorrow's WoW.

FreshLemonZest · 04/03/2026 05:35

Good morning. Looks like I'm the fist WoWer today. A 1.6kg loss! I can't tell you how much I needed to see a downward trend.( I was up to 85kg mid February) Next goal is to get under 80kg and never see that number again. Good luck for today.
SW 83.7kg
Last week 84.3kg
CW 82.7kg

TheWayTheLightFalls · 04/03/2026 05:57

That’s a real WOW @FreshLemonZest , lovely!

It’s 66.5kg here, so 3.5kg under goal. I think I need to see a nutritionist (or chatgpt!) about the next stage - not weight loss but building muscle.

Good luck wowers!

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 04/03/2026 06:41

Yay I can’t believe it but after a February which I thought had gone a bit awry and where I finished over on my weekly calories the past couple of weeks I have somehow lost overall! Down from around 9st 5lbs at the start of Feb to showing 9st 3.5lbs this morning!

Very pleased, and that’s given me a massive motivational boost for March!

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 04/03/2026 06:43

@FridayNighFeelingI just googled the Addicted to Anxiety book and it does sound really interesting, some of the author’s other books look good too, I’ll have to check it out!

biscuitcat · 04/03/2026 07:11

Well done all, and good job for checking in!

I’m 1lb down this week - I was actually hoping for a bit more but the last two days my diet has been pretty much exclusively carbs and salt so I’ve got only myself to blame! However I am officially over 3.5 stone gone which feels like an achievement.

SW - 15st10.5
CW - 12st3

I’m exhausted today - DH away all week and the children are being particularly high maintenance, plus prepping for the end of my maternity leave next week, so my aim is to keep away from the snacks! Luckily (?) I’ve basically eaten all of them over the last two days so there aren’t many left to choose from…

LemonDrizzle23 · 04/03/2026 07:24

@biscuitcat current you, has done future you a favour by eating all the snacks!

Morning WOWers. Well done to everyone weighing in! I haven’t weighed since beginning of Feb and I am a couple of pounds up which is unsurprising under the circumstances, but annoying.

SW: 15 st 8
CW: 13 st 13.4

Carrying on with my meal planning and yoga. And heading to the gym this evening. Hoping for a loss next week now everything is back under control.
