Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

@mumof1littlebun I find planning my meals in advance and logging everything before I eat helps me to track macros and keep on track 👍

Morning everyone.

I am 71.5kg today, which is 0.1kg this week 😅Better than up I suppose and I didn't have a great week so can't complain.

Aim to do have a better week now this week and hope for better losses next week!

CW: 71.5kg
SW: 74kg
GL: 65kg

Well done to everyone, some great losses and motivation in the chat today 💪

Cheesewhatcheese · 12/11/2025 10:27

Morning, congrats, love and support to all those who have lost something this week, and also to those who haven't for any reason ❤

I'm re-setting my starting weight, as I'm sure that the reading I had when I started was off (too low - I've been around 73 kg for so long). So -

SW 73
CW 71.9
GW 67

So that means I've lost just over a kilo in a week - 2 days fasting (800 calories), the rest of the time around 1300. So that's progress, pleased with that, just need to keep it up.

Question for others who do fast days: do you exercise / go to the gym on your fast days? I'm wary of doing so as I worry that I would just be too hungry and that I'd give in and eat more than my 800 cal.

mumof1littlebun · 12/11/2025 10:46

@TheRealHousewifethat is definitely where I have been going wrong and it has always worked for me in the past so will get back to planning ahead

FridayNighFeeling · 12/11/2025 11:27

Will come back and read all your posts later, but thought I'd give you all a giggle... 4lb/2kg up this morning. We had that M&S Chinese food box and some duck and pancakes, but no way did I eat 4lbs of it Grin

Italian out tonight - may have pizza, may have risotto. Will hopefully see normality return in a few days - both with life and the scales.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 12/11/2025 11:42

@Cheesewhatcheese not gym but I do the most physical aspects of my job fasted (lugging 25kg sacks of potatoes up the stairs etc) and it’s fine. It’s habit more than anything.

Captainladder · 12/11/2025 12:17

Ahhh @biscuitcat - that sounds tough. I wonder what the calorie difference between biscuits and yogurt actually is?! I'm constantly surprised by calorie counting, things I expect to be high are not 🤷🏽‍♀️. Anyway.... you can only move forwards and bringing up babies is HARD.

my progress has been good on the fast800 I'm a week and a half in....

sw 100.45
cw 96.1
mini target 18th dec - 89kgs

it's ambitious.
I need to start adding the exercise in. I am doing very small exercise snacks in the day!

biscuitcat · 12/11/2025 13:25

Thanks @Captainladder 💜 the biscuits were probably salvageable - the subsequent two slices of sourdough with peanut butter and jam less so! But I’ve been on a dog walk and had a healthy lunch so a sensible dinner should still have me within maintenance calories.

WearyAuldWumman · 12/11/2025 13:26

Trying to get back on the wagon after the slump following my foot injury.

Start weight: 16 st 4lbs
Current Weight 13 st 13.5lbs.
Interim Goal 13 st 6 lbs.

Our main gym is closed for refurbishment, but group classes are still on and a mini-gym is supposed to be opening today.

Went to Pilates on Monday and Stretch on Tuesday. Tbh, my foot has benefited from the rest from the gym. I've not been to Musical Theatre workouts - they're great fun, but too much jumping up and down on the sore foot.

I have Senior Flex and Active for Life today.

Fellsbells · 12/11/2025 16:54

Closing the kitchen at 16:50pm. Thoughts and prayers for my will power for the next 5 hours.

B- probiotic shot
L-sourdough and eggs
D-chicken, rice & naan. Chocolate cupcake.

Marshmellowbunny · 12/11/2025 17:32

Thank you @TheRealHousewife I hope I pull myself together soon! I just keep telling myself what Dory from Finding Nemo says. 'Just keep swimming' and I am just keeping swimming.

I can't believe it's 6 weeks until Christmas eve 🙈 omg

Vapeaddict · 12/11/2025 20:49

Congrats to all on losses, tiny gains & STS's- just getting on the scale and being accountable is commendable!

I made a decision this morning not to weigh today. I woke up in a (relatively 😅) good mood and honestly- I couldn't face spoiling it! I'm out at the weekend and didn't want a confidence knock. I daresay my scale weight is up because I have my period and ate a particularly salty meal last night. It won't be genuinely up by as much as it would claim but even my rational brain wouldn't win that battle... So I chose ignorance 🫣

Will face the music next week!

Don’t you get £1000 if someone uses your link?

Forgot to check in yesterday.

8st 7lb today.

congratulations on the losses and to everyone for being here and making changes to get themselves healthier.

get well soon @TheRealHousewife

LemonDrizzle23 · 13/11/2025 07:10

Woke up this morning at 13 st 10.6, so have actually lost 1.2lbs this week, which is more in line with what I was expecting.

2.5 weeks left of the month and I would love to see 13 st 8 something by the end of November.

I was going to sort of give up and just try and maintain throughout December, but actually feeling like I might keep cracking on. If I could start the new year around 13 st 7 I would be very happy.

Captainladder · 13/11/2025 07:32

@Vapeaddict i love that you didn't weigh to look after your mood. I hate the fact that our weight has such a hold over our emotions though too.... am really trying to work on that and look at it as just numbers but .... I confess it hasn't worked so far and I'm happy to see numbers going down but not up 🙈. Work in progress I guess.....

CinnamonSweet73 · 13/11/2025 08:18

Well done everyone!

I didn't get around to posting yesterday, busy stressful day at work. I did weigh in though and was 78.9kg, so 1kg down from last week, delighted with that!

I'm on a weekend away this weekend so hoping to just maintain that for next week!

Have a great Thursday everyone and best of luck for the week.

CatPawprints · 13/11/2025 08:42

SW: 10st13
CW: 10st8

Happy Thursday folks! I've been looking at the calendar leading up to Christmas and have just realised how much I have committed to over next 6 weeks.

A couple of work events, church Christmas services prep, we're having the kitchen ripped out and replaced in December too, which now that's its so near seems utterly mad.

I think I'm going to have to make a survival plan and block off any available Saturday and a couple of evenings a week as a rest zones, otherwise I'm going to get stressed and then turn to snacks to take the stress away.

biscuitcat · 13/11/2025 08:50

That was probably a sensible decision @Vapeaddict - we had Chinese food last night (so much for my sensible dinner - I had considerably less than usual but I think yesterday was officially a write off!!) and was 2.5lbs up this morning. I absolutely know it was all the salt as I was SO thirsty overnight, but despite the gain I think it was really good for me actually, as I’m feeling better about eating in deficit again today.

I’ve noticed that my weight loss really seems to be slowing down, which is natural but also frustrating as it was going really smoothly for months and the past 6-8 weeks in particular have been tougher going. I’m going to try adding psyllium husk into my diet, partly as I do need to eat more fibre anyway and partly to see if it helps with fullness/cravings.

Today’s menu:

B - Greek yoghurt with plums
L - tbc, but something with chicken as I need to use it up!
D - also tbc, either lentil curry or potato and paneer bites

Fellsbells · 13/11/2025 09:02

Back at goal weight after a puffy 2 weeks. I don’t feel like I own it yet though. I need a solid week to feel confident it’s not just a blip.

Gearing myself up for a run I really don’t want to do. I’ve got no energy this morning.

TheRealHousewife · 13/11/2025 09:41

Good Morning Everyone

@biscuitcat I hope your dog is ok. It’s such a worry when they ingest what they shouldn’t 😮 No wonder you’re a little overwhelmed, it’s good your dh is supporting you where he can 💐

@TC2023 Every bit helps 😬

@Cheesewhatcheese Sounds very positive, well done on your loss to date 👏

@FridayNighFeeling Your post gave me a giggle … like you say there is no way you ate 4kg of food 😅. Definitely salt retention and waste 💩 Up the water and fibre and you’ll soon be back to where you were 👍

@Captainladder Youre off to a flying start! Congrats on your loss 👍

@WearyAuldWumman Pleased to read you’re foots recovered and you’re back at it with exercise 👍

@Marshmellowbunny you're welcome lovie… and just keep swimming, you can do this 😬

@Vapeaddict You are so right … temporary ignorance is the right path at times, especially when you know how ‘knowing’ can spiral your mental health/well being etc. Enjoy your weekend!

Thank you @LegoTherapy … that’s a good weigh-in 👌

Congrats on your loss @LemonDrizzle23 Id definitely keep on it for a couple of reasons. 1) Create wiggle room; 2) Damage limitation; 3) Less remorse. You’ll feel so much more in control if you keep going and come January you’ll not be so overwhelmed with any gains that you want to lose. 👍

@CinnamonSweet73 Great loss! Well done 👏

@CatPawprints I love how you’re forward planning for the next 6 weeks, it makes so much sense 👏👏👏 Good luck with the kitchen refit!

@Fellsbells Congratulations on getting back to goal! No feeling like it 👌

Menu
Meal 1 - Roast Vegetable Soup & GF roll. Pecans.
Meal 2 - Chicken Tray Bake. Greek yoghurt & chopped dates.

Drinks - Tea, black coffee and water.

Weight is still stuck. Going to take a bit of thought to get it going.
However a non weight win today. I zipped up my winter coat, I couldn’t close it at all last year. Still a tiny bit small over my bum but fine for walking about.
