🎄LOSE IT🎄8 Week Christmas Countdown🎄

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

Had an early finish today - breakfast was beans, sausages, toast and eggs; lunch was a halloumi salad with a load of veg and grains - kitchen closed!

CatPawprints · 14/11/2025 08:07

@TheWayTheLightFalls that's my favourite kind of breakfast!

I'm going shopping with DD today so hopefully lots of steps. But she will definitely want a subway for lunch so I'll probably close the kitchen early today too

biscuitcat · 14/11/2025 13:25

I’m hoping for a bit of a whoosh soon as my weight is staying stubbornly high after my ‘fuck it’ day, very annoying! It feels like my Christmas goal is getting less and less likely, though I’ll hopefully still at least be moving in the right direction.

Today’s menu:

B - Greek yoghurt with plums
L - leftover gammon, egg and a few chips with watercress
D - either carbonara or lentil curry

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend when it arrives!

FridayNighFeeling · 14/11/2025 14:25

Hi all, weight has definitely bounced up after pizza out & birthday cake and yesterday pizza left overs for lunch and more birthday cake. Tomorrow involves a trip to McDs and Sunday will be lunch out, so I'm hoping that I can refocus on Monday, but yes the next few weeks leading up to Christmas is going to be a minefield.

At 20bls down, I feel like I might just try and maintain where I am as best I can for now and focus on good meals where possible rather than going f* it ..and getting exercise where possible.

I'm seeing my osteopath again next week after a bit of a gap. Doing the exercises at home and her interventions have made such a difference!

LemonDrizzle23 · 14/11/2025 15:09

Well my “2 stone off” celebration purse arrived and I don’t actually like it 🤦🏼‍♀️ Obviously the universe knew I hadn’t quite got there yet! At least I have time to choose another one 😂

That's made me smile for some reason ☺
Your new purse may grow on you 😁x

Emmadaily · 14/11/2025 18:44

@FridayNighFeeling
I think your suggestion of trying to maintain is a good idea as you have lots of events before the main event .
20 pounds off is an excellent result and you sure to get back losing once all festivities have finished.
A good weekend ahead for you ☺
Enjoy x

FridayNighFeeling · 14/11/2025 21:26

Thanks @Emmadaily I will see how I go, but often putting too much pressure on can be what puts you in a negative cycle and I'm trying to look after myself better overall.

Oh that's a disappointment @LemonDrizzle23

Fellsbells · 14/11/2025 21:36

After a great week I lost the plot a bit tonight and ate too much. Tomorrow is a new day though.

mamauplift · 14/11/2025 22:13

I know you're all a fortnight in but I would like to join you all 😊 I have gained a lot of weight due to an abusive relationship and was developing an unhealthy relationship with alcohol. The relationship ended a year ago, during the past year I have worked a lot on myself and am in such a positive place now. Today is day 12 without an alcoholic drink and I now want to start looking at my physical health.

To start I am going to concentrate on eating 3 balanced main meals and making sure snacks are sensible (not a whole packet of chocolate digestives in one sitting, for example). I'm going to start without counting calories just to ease myself in and once I'm in a good routine I'll then look at calories and protein. I am currently over 16 stone (was about 11 3 years ago) but setting a big goal seems daunting at the moment so after weighing myself tomorrow I will set myself a small goal such as half a stone, or entering the next goal bracket.

Emmadaily · 15/11/2025 00:45

@mamauplift
Hi I just read your introduction post
Well done for your 12 days in without alcohol .
That's a great start for you and now easing yourself into a more healthy lifestyle.
Good luck and you are sure to feel so much better very soon.
Xx

Maggiebell · 15/11/2025 05:58

Im quite lucky that I don't drink so it's not a problem for me, but I love chocolate which is a BIG!! problem.
So my walking pad is coming today. It's for Christmas but I will start to use it if my DH says ok. He is the one that brought it for me.
I have a Twist and Shape machine that was in the box for a year before I used it.
I just don't use it now and its just sitting in the back of the wardrobe.
Anyway I will let you know how I get on with the pad. Good luck everyone. I know the weekends are hardest.

biscuitcat · 15/11/2025 08:07

Welcome @mamauplift! You’ve already done amazingly getting out of the relationship and into a positive place 💜

re the whole packet of chocolate digestives in one session - I find moving away from UPFs is hugely helpful for me in that regard! I absolutely still have treats but I try to make sure they’re homemade or whole foods and I’m far less likely to just mindlessly eat that way.

I also do smaller goals rather than focusing too much on the end picture, as I also have a fair bit to lose and it feels more manageable. Good luck!

socks1107 · 15/11/2025 11:33

@PersistentRainI’ve just broken a ten week plateau and it nearly broke me!
to get it moving I’ve focused on my macros. And also calorie cycling so a few lower days followed by a bit of a refeed day. I’ve lost 4lbs so it’s inching down again . Hope you find a way to get it moving again

hi to everyone else. Saw a new low on the scales today. Surprising as my insomnia is crippling at the moment but I seem to lose when I don’t sleep which is against anything you read? I know it won’t stay there and will bounce up for a few days but nice to see it and my Xmas goal is well in sight

Greendiamondbee · 15/11/2025 13:37

LegoTherapy · 15/11/2025 18:40

Welcome to the newcomers! You can do it! I’ll share my weight loss graph as inspiration to stay on these threads despite the odd gain or even a sustained gain in my case earlier this year (I got bored and didn’t have the headspace).
In other news I was inspired today to make a veggie Shepard’s pie now that Quorn mince hasn’t got loads of additives. I’ve no idea what it will taste like compared to before. I like to layer mine so I’ve got a bottom layer of mince and onions in veggie gravy (the only way I will eat gravy), a layer of peas, a layer of carrots, then a layer of mash made with double cream, butter, and plenty of salt. I haven’t eaten this in years. Maybe 7. I used to love it. We won’t have any dues because the veg are in the pie itself. I just hope Ds doesn’t pull his face and say it’s not as good as his sisters because she doesn’t put veg in it.
I like that the graph shows that my average not-even-trying weight is much less than my starting weight and my body and eating habits have reset themselves.

Have been awol for a few weeks so have just spent a lovely half an hour with a cup of tea catching up on the thread.

New job and longer commute has taken up all of my brain power recently and so I have been very pleased to have maintained at 13st 2.5 for the last two weeks. Now feeling like I can crack back on with calorie counting. Going to start walking from the station to the office to get my steps in that way. Would love to be see under 13 on the scales by Xmas.

biscuitcat · 16/11/2025 09:45

The happy corollary of massive overnight weight gain because of salty food etc is the odd big overnight loss - the scale says I’m 1.5lbs down on yesterday. (And despite knowing that neither the 2.5lb gain or this loss are true reflections, I’m much more inclined to believe and enjoy it when it goes this way!).

I’m 1lb off 2.5st down, and 5lbs from the next stone bracket. I initially wanted to be 3st down for Christmas but my rate of loss has slowed and I think 8lbs in 5.5 weeks, especially with all the events in December, is unlikely, but being in the 12s would be great and that should hopefully be manageable if I don’t go totally wild.
