Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

Count me in. 12st 13 and would like to be 12st 4 by Christmas. Will try by going to the gym and eating more healthily too.

Fellsbells · 09/11/2025 15:45

I’ve consistently been 4lbs above where I was for two weeks now which is annoying, but understandable because I’ve been doing the usual bad habits of eating what I’ve made for the DC and snacking. The only good news is I’m consistently running again and feel better for it. 7km this morning. That at least uses up 300-400 calories.

Plan for the coming week is to fill up on plenty of low calorie soup and exercise as much as possible. Hopefully hormones will balance out this week which should knock off a pound or two.

FridayNighFeeling · 09/11/2025 17:39

Just popping by to say good luck to you all for the week ahead.

Hopefully lifestyle changes mean we can still balance eating out/baking etc with weight loss or general better health - I did both at the weekend!

Hope you're OK @WearyAuldWumman - haven't seen you for a while.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 09/11/2025 18:52

Checking in. Today was a bit less "eat the whole house" - eggs and toast for breakfast, Greek lentil soup for lunch, same again for dinner with some chicken breast, homemade shortbread as a snack, lots of coffees. OMAD planned for tomorrow. Kitchen closed around an hour ago.

I have been doing a lot of baking with the kids lately which is lovely but needs to not translate to eating what we make!

biscuitcat · 09/11/2025 19:00

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend! It’s been glorious here so we’ve had a lovely couple of dog walks and the fresh air has done me the world of good.

Today has been:

B - Greek yoghurt with plums
L - gnocchi with cheese
D - chicken and courgette stir fry

The last week or so I’ve finally managed to stop feeding littlest DS to sleep and I hadn’t realised the difference it would make. Usually when DH is away, after I’ve got all three kids down I’ve hardly energy to even think about food so if I’ve not prepared anything it’s very high risk! But since he’s going to sleep independently, I’ve got the energy to make myself proper dinners and feel good for it.

Vapeaddict · 09/11/2025 21:43

Lots of lovely weekends had, @TheWayTheLightFalls the Greek lentil soup sounds especially delicious 😋 glad to hear you're getting your evenings back @biscuitcat it makes a huge difference- I'm in a much better mood after a positive bedtime!

Sadly things don't look like they will be back to normal tomorrow, there's just so much illness about (I can't believe I haven't caught it- yet- although a vomiting bug is one way to shed lbs!).

Because everyone is sick, it's just constant grazing/nibbling on whatever seems appealing. But I'm not sick, and needn't do this!

There is also the small problem of Halloween sweets etc, I must move them out of the way and get off the sugar rollercoaster. I don't even like sweets!

Midnightstar76 · 09/11/2025 22:56

Hopping on thread again. Have purchased a treadmill and just a bit addicted. Weight now 11 stone 9 want to reach 11 for Christmas

LegoTherapy · 10/11/2025 07:06

Still 8st 8lb here and not sure I can be bothered going lower. If it happens great but if not I’m quite happy to stay here. 8st 5lb would be nice but I can’t see it making any actual difference to anything except maybe I’d get in the size 8 pair of jeans I have. They are a bit too tight on the waist but my well loved 10s are baggy as hell. Why don’t they do odd sizes?!
Here’s to a great week for us all!

Maggiebell · 10/11/2025 07:16

I'm starting WW on weds. Scared of weighing myself but got to do something.
My husband is buying me one of those office type walking machines for Christmas. Has anyone got one are they a good buy. So it's will be all system go, but I would like to lose a bit before I get it.
I'm not after a bikini bod as I will be 71 ( can't believe that!!!!) At the end of Jan and would like to have lost a bit before that. I know it's funny to want a new me at my age but why not. I look younger than my age, I hope it's not the fat that is stopping the wrinkles ha ha.

Vapeaddict · 10/11/2025 08:01

@LegoTherapy I've been thinking along similar lines recently, wondering how important those last few lbs are. I'm definitely a bit heavier than I like to be AND usually am- so lots of my clothes are feeling a bit snug or just not quite fitting right. But even when I was at my "usual" weight of around 9st8-10, I wasn't happy and was chasing 9st. I'm thinking about trying to make peace with 9.7, when I get there!

They used to do size 9 and 11 jeans didn't they- BHS maybe?- for an in-between size!

Good luck @Maggiebell for Wednesday, I've heard good things about WW, I don't have advice on walking pads but I've seen threads on the Exercise board about them before if that helps?

Agh everyone is off school or work either puking or coughing and sneezing, my period arrived this morning (explains my sugar cravings/binge last night!) and I'm about 2 weeks behind with work. Happy Monday!

Midnightstar76 · 10/11/2025 08:17

@Maggiebell mine that I have is a walking pad but you can run on it too and it is very good , highly recommended especially for me as time pushed but I can just hop on here and there which is perfect for my lifestyle.

CatPawprints · 10/11/2025 08:30

Lost willpower yesterday afternoon. Large glass of wine and as a family we ate an entire bag of sour cream and chive pretzels whilst watching a movie.

Thought I'd see a gain this morning but scales are sticking at 10st10. I don't really have a plan today and I've got a meeting this evening with a rather difficult person that I'm dreading. So I'm feeling a bit out of sorts.

Think today I'm just going to try and get out for a lunch time walk, resist the snacks and that will count as a win.

socks1107 · 10/11/2025 10:21

Despite my poorly managed Saturday I got a new low on the scales today.
its definitely motivating and I may even use out exercise bike at lunchtime then do some weights! I went out in size 12 jeans yesterday which was amazing, I’m well on target for my three stone this year

happy Monday everyone 😊

LemonDrizzle23 · 10/11/2025 11:44

@LegoTherapy could you go for someone like Levi’s for jeans, as they do the individual waist measurements I think? Might be able to get something inbetween two highstreet sizes?

As I am only a few lbs away from 2 stone off now, I have ordered myself a new purse. It will officially come into use at 13 st 8. But there was a sale on so I got it now! 3 weeks left of November so it’s possible I will get there by the end of the month. If we manage to avoid the variety of school plagues…. @Vapeaddict I feel your pain and hope everyone is feeling better soon!

Fellsbells · 10/11/2025 12:29

Well done everyone.

I’m finally deflating. I lost a whole lb overnight. Thanks hormones!

B- pancake and yoghurt
L- sourdough and egg
D- meat and veg I think.

I’m chomping on sugar free mints to stop any snacking. Potentially dangerous because of their laxative effects though.

PersistentRain · 10/11/2025 12:44

Weight is a bit stuck at the moment. I certainly look better with my clothes on but I’ve just been to try bras on and I still need to lose a lot from the top half of my body.

biscuitcat · 10/11/2025 15:41

Congratulations @socks1107 - sounds like you’re hopefully through your plateau!

I’ve baked Smarties cookies with the kids today - tried one with my afternoon cuppa and they’re excellent so will have to restrain myself! I have leftover chicken and courgette stir fry for dinner which is nice and filling, so hopefully that will stop me snacking.

FridayNighFeeling · 10/11/2025 18:30

Hi all, lots of positives. Things been very blue Monday ish here, so I've eaten far too much junk!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 10/11/2025 19:07

Sympathies @biscuitcat my children have discovered shortbread and seem to bake it every other day!

Managed OMAD today but gosh it was a slog - gloomy weather and not enough work to occupy me. Ate a steak, grilled mushrooms and veg around 10am, just coffee etc since. Will eat again at 10am/ish tomorrow.

@Maggiebell I think it's absolutely brilliant that you're doing this at 71, it always pays to look after your body and feel good about yourself.

Sukiesue12 · 10/11/2025 21:50

Hi all, I am joining this thread for accountability. I have failed miserably this year where I seem to have lost and gained the same 2kg repeatedly. I feel if I can get a jump start before Christmas I have a chance of improving my life choices come the new year

SW 89kg
CW 85kg
GW 70kg

As you can see it’s a long way to go. I am teetering on the edge of getting mounjaro as am now perimenopausal but am scared of the side effects so am giving this one last go to drop some weight before I go down that route.

I was exactly your weight in January and am now 71kg, I also considered mounjaro but felt they weren’t for me. Do whatever works! Mounjaro, calories or fasting or WW.
This thread had been my motivation and support everyone is so great.

TheRealHousewife · 11/11/2025 09:51

Good Morning All

It’s lovely to see how you are all doing so well and that together you are all keeping these threads going! Thank you! ❤️

Im currently maintaining and in part I think that is down to the pain meds I’m taking. They wreck my transit times and leave me feeling bloated! I’m trying to do without but more recently I’m in quite a bit of pain. More pain, less movement … It’s a balancing act.

Menu
Meal 1 - Roast Vegetable Soup. GF thin.
Meal 2 - Chicken tray bake. Fake Greek yoghurt. Pecans.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee & water.

Keep going you lovely lot, you’re doing great 👍

Just look after yourself @TheRealHousewife (((hugs)))

I'm calling it a STS this week... I'm having a ready meal tonight and tomorrow night we are having a meal out, so scales likely to go up.

Good luck for WOW tomorrow x

CatPawprints · 11/11/2025 12:38

SW: 10st13
CW: 10st9

So pleased to see a shift in the scales this morning. Did half an hour on rowing machine last night and skipped an evening meal as I'd grazed all afternoon.

Had my meeting with a difficult person which was difficult but not as bad as it could have been. Was awake a lot last night reliving the conversation in that really unhelpful way you do when you're nettled.

I need an easy thinking day today so we're on frozen steak pie for tea. I'm going to skip the chips and have it with veg and no snacks today.

Think I'll also do a YouTube zumba tonight. I'll have the house to myself for half an hour so I can fling myself about without my kid laughing at my lack of coordination and rhythm.

Fellsbells · 11/11/2025 13:50

Good to hear from you @TheRealHousewife wishing you painfree times ahead.
