Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

So bloody depressing, but tomorrow is meant to be dry and Saturday too, so I'm hopeful that I can get some exercise in on those days... a walk to the shops to get some food for the early Christmas meal we are having over the weekend - double buggy down and back up the hill has got to burn quite a bit surely!

@FridayNighFeeling it actually was! I made nigella Lawson’s lemon polenta cake with a lemon drizzle. It was glorious (if I say so myself). Our kitchen looks like I had a full on party instead of a few friends over, and DH had his Christmas work so last night and is very hung over 😂 So neither us nor the house are doing well this morning!

I've done my last WI of the year - won't get on the scales now till 5th when school/work goes back... but I'm pleased to be 24lbs lighter than June when I joined you all.

@LemonDrizzle23 I think that’s a bacon butty morning and shut the door on the mess!

I've enjoyed a week of eating and eating and I mean enjoyed!! Put a pound on, and have decided as much as I enjoyed it I didn’t enjoy the loss of self control as I have none 😂.
so back into counting today, will take off tmrw, Tuesday and the two Xmas days but will count on others. It’s the only way for me and I think January will be harder if I don’t reign it in.

I kept within calories yesterday, weight slightly up today, but that’ll he water as it was carby.

Really need to got for a run today, but it’s totm and energy is low.

@socks1107 well done for getting back on it today. I’m the same, little self control so got to keep on it.

Well done, all! You're all doing amazing. Even if you've lost control for a little bit over Xmas. I hold my hand up, I'm guilty. But I'm a stone lighter than I would have been had I not joined you on this thread 🥰

Off on holiday in the morning and I haven't met my goal! Weighed this morning and I'm 9:7.2 🤣🙈 but I don't care. I'm going to go and have the best time. I've lost all of my holiday weight...there's no significant damage from my surgery (apart from the old voice) and I'm just going to celebrate that I get to go on holiday and that I get to spend more time with my partner and have another Christmas and NY!

Happy Christmas and NY all. I'll probably be back in January for a wee while, but we will see! Thank you so much, all of you, for being so incredible! Good luck with the festivities! 💖

Checking in here in the style of an AA meeting. I’ve snacked on some doritos and a slice of pizza this afternoon and it’s triggering all the happy, eat more hormones. It would be so easy to just fuck it and fall face first into the Quality Streets, but I’m holding the line. I will not cave. I’ve got 500 calories left for a healthy dinner not 10 quality streets.

I’ve had hummus and bread for lunch and will be having a soy sauce and honey mince and veggie rice for dinner - plus about 6 pieces of homemade shortbread… I’m currently resisting cracking open the Christmas Twiglets too!

@Fellsbells I will join you in online AA 😬 Did an approximate calorie count of the last two days of food and am slightly horrified! I mean I shouldn’t be massively surprised that wine, cheese, cake and mince pies are calorific, but bloody hell! Can easily see how I usually put on half a stone over Christmas! Reining it in again til dinner time on Christmas Eve!

i have stuck to calories today, exercised and feel good that I’ve slipped back into it after a week off. We are out for dinner and a concert tmrw so bit more awkward but I’ll just enjoy it and back on it Sunday.

A bit more in control of eating today - Nutracheck hasn’t horrified me! Have also been out for two walks, totalling about 9km.

Currently lying on the sofa with DS watching Shrek, while DH cooks scallops.

Hey all! Merry almost Christmas...... I didn't make it to my ambitious goal of 89 kgs- sons birthday followed by a string of Christmas gatherings and now on holiday! weighing in at 94.2 kgs today - so still 6 kgs down from starting which I'll take!
my aim is to try and do a bit of damage limitation while I'm on holiday, so I'll stick to avoiding breakfast, not drinking my calories, and avoiding carbs where I can at home (staying with mum).
And I'll try and get some long walks in too..... and swims in the sea, which is possibly my favourite thing to do ever. (We are in a hot country - swimming in a cold sea is NOT my favourite!!)

Well done @LemonDrizzle23 sounds perfect.

I stuck with it last night and today. Managed to refuse a takeaway tonight. I was dubious about paying for Nutracheck vs using MFP for free, but it is working for me. Someone on here said always track, even on bad days and it’s so helpful. Last week when I smashed through double my allowance I tracked it and it’s pulled me back on track.

Is anybody going to wow on Christmas Eve? Ds and I had a McDonald’s yesterday. I have mcplant but choose water to drink and rarely eat all the fries. I’m not even looking forward to being able to eat chocolate again. In fact I don’t feel very interested in food at all. I’m sure that will change!
No Christmas parties or get together here. Christmas really brings home that it’s just me and my dc and mum and that I have no family or friends and that autism sucks. Mum is going to be in hospital over Christmas so just me and the dc. I feel overwhelmed by it all at the moment but at least I’ve wrapped most of the presents. The house is a mess but the dc will help with that.

Me. Though I’m Jewish so I’m not sure I’m the best point of comparison. Last day of Hanukkah here and then a bit of normality before Orthodox Christmas in January, for DH. I often feel I am on a different planet to everyone else at this time of year!

Can completely relate to the seasonal overwhelm - also autistic. I think there is so much expectation at this time of year that everyone is together, big happy families and so on.

I’ll be weighing in @LegoTherapy - I do pretty much every day (though I don’t always record it if it’s unkind!). I’ve definitely been more lax with my eating so I’m not expecting any great shakes but if I can stay the same (maybe even sneak in a small loss if I’m lucky) I’ll feel pretty good with that.

Sorry it sounds like a tough time of year - there’s so much pressure around Christmas/December in general 💜

I’m not sure about weighing in on Christmas Eve 😂 I’ve had a couple of largely disappointing Christmas snacks over the last couple of days, so I think I shall just be eating normal food until Christmas now.

I will weigh myself, but mainly because I'm trying not to gain too much. Going up 2-3 lbs is usually not too bad for me, but I can't risk much more. The norm for me is to lose some, stick, go up a bit and then lose again.

Hard to track today as I’ve eaten out. I think I’m within calories though. 5km run this morning has helped buffer it.

The festival of the doughnuts has ended and I have somehow survived without piling on weight, I assume thanks to stress. Swings and roundabouts Grin

Surprise of 81kg this morning (0.2kg off from last week). So have lost 9kg since august. Getting so close to being in the 70s…won’t be this week though!
