🎄LOSE IT🎄8 Week Christmas Countdown🎄

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

Another 0.2kg off. I’ve given up tracking/increased my steps and I actually seem to do better this way.

TheRealHousewife · 16/12/2025 15:44

Good Afternoon Everyone 🙂

It’s fabulous to see how the thread is kept going by all you lovely ladies! ❤️ Thank you 🙏 I might not visit the thread daily at the moment but I can honestly say I do think of you all on a regular basis x

Trigger Warning
Im ok but not ok if you know what I mean. Our household is feeling a little bit unchrissmassy… it’s the 3rd year since we’ve been on our own (due to passing & estrangement) and with each passing year rather than getting easier it’s getting harder. Put together with chronic illness and a bout of Sad I felt I needed to access some counselling. Feeling somewhat more optimistic and coupled with counting down to the Winter Solstice when the days start to get longer I’m feeling a bit brighter ☀️ The Christmas tree is up too 🎄

Menu
Meal 1 - Egg salad in gluten free pitta bread.
Meal 2 - Gluten free lasagna and green crispy salad. Greek yoghurt & chia seeds.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee and water.

Im already thinking about our brand new January 2026 thread and I’ll get it up between Christmas and the New Year 2026 x.

Counselling sounds just the thing @TheRealHousewife . I’m glad you are open to it. And I second the experience that this time of year can heighten all the difficulties we have borne - the dark, the seasonal expectations…

Sending love.

FridayNighFeeling · 16/12/2025 19:03

I think you look amazing @LegoTherapy

It's a difficult time with fraught emotions for lots of people @TheRealHousewife glad you're speaking to someone who can give you some impartial advice/listening ear.

Good luck to those WOWing, I will nip on to see what it says, but waiting for TOTM to start, so not optimistic/have hit pause anyway.

Fellsbells · 16/12/2025 19:29

@TheRealHousewife that’s amazing that you recognised how you were feeling and looked for help to deal with it. I really admire that. I hope things get better for you soon.

B- gut shot
L- sour dough, chicken, yoghurt, fruit, seeds.
D-salmon pesto pasta green beans.
S-biscuits, nuts, pancakes.

I’m within calories today, just. Feeling dreadful due to lack of sleep. Perimenopause is kicking my bum this week.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 16/12/2025 19:29

Done for today.

Two healthy ready meals, just (!) one doughnut. I think I'm the very model of restraint for a someone celebrating Hanukkah and running to what feels like every hospital in London to get her tits out Grin.

WoW will be what it is tomorrow. I weighed this morning and it was steady - 72.3.

Argh, lack of sleep is the worst! I'm sorry. Hope tonight's easier.

biscuitcat · 16/12/2025 19:49

@TheWayTheLightFalls latkes and apple sauce sounds delicious - have you ever had Alpen macaroni? We had it with family in Switzerland, pasta, potatoes and onions in a cheese sauce with apple sauce, similar vibes!

I think you have a fabulous figure @LegoTherapy!

Sorry to hear things are tough @TheRealHousewife - family difficulties always feel magnified at this time of year don’t they? I hope the counselling is helpful, and just recognising the need for help and seeking it is an amazing step.

Today’s menu was:

L - goats cheese omelette with chips
D - Gochujang sticky pork with bao buns and pickled veg, dates with butter and dark chocolate

And it would have been an excellent day were it not for the multiple mini packets of Haribo I had mid afternoon! I’m hoping WOW tomorrow won’t be too painful…

TheWayTheLightFalls · 16/12/2025 19:50

sounds amazing @biscuitcat ! Love your menu too, will get some goats’ cheese in.

WearyAuldWumman · 16/12/2025 19:51

LegoTherapy · 16/12/2025 09:05

Looks like I’ll be calling in the Co-op for more than mini cans of soda today 😁

The price of Bailey's has gone up again, but only to £9. (You might need one of those Co-op Community Cards )

WearyAuldWumman · 16/12/2025 19:56

Today's food...

Usual cornflakes and oatmilk.
Coffee.

Cheese & ham toastie with salad.
Coffee.

Half a rump steak. (Reduced at Co-op) A couple of potatoes. (One would have been enough.)

Martini. Neither shaken nor stirred - shoogled. (I've cracked. It's not been a brilliant month.)

Probiotic capsules.

I did go to the gym today, but only for a half hour Stretch class. However, I'm booked in for an induction tour of the new machines.

socks1107 · 16/12/2025 20:16

So I’ve tried eating at maintenance this week and gone up 3 lbs. I binge, I binge a lot and I feel so bloated! Got tomorrow where I’ll cut back down, Thursday will be awful as will Saturday then will try and reign it in till Xmas day,
anyone else looking fwd to new year and all this socialising and temptation going away, I can’t wait to get back to normal 😂

TheWayTheLightFalls · 17/12/2025 06:21

Morning! WoW is 71.7kg here - down a bit overnight, not quite my lowest weight but the lowest in December. Given the kind of month I am having that is great for me, very pleased.

Good luck Wowers!

biscuitcat · 17/12/2025 06:42

Good morning all! I’m 1.5lbs down this week which I’m pleased with. I’ve noticed that not snacking in the evenings seems to make a big difference for me, which is good in a way as it gives me something clear to do, but annoying as it’s when I’m most likely to want to snack!

SW - 15st10.5
CW - 12st12

1.5lbs to go to make 3 stone off - I’d like to achieve that by the end of the year if I can, but given the socialising all starts ramping up now I won’t be too upset if it happens in January. There’s definitely some space in my size 14 jeans now so I’d also like to be in a 12 for the end of my maternity leave in March.

LemonDrizzle23 · 17/12/2025 07:23

Well not a wholly exact measurement here, as my body has been all over the place, but there’s been a loss - call it 1lb? So close to two stone loss once again.

SW: 15 st 8
CW: 13 st 9.5

I have one more week of decent meal plans until we surrender to Christmas food 😂 So let’s see how it goes.

My sympathies @TheRealHousewifefirst Christmas without mum here and so far it’s shit. Tempted by some counselling in 2026. I hope it helps you.

Marshmellowbunny · 17/12/2025 08:27

Morning All,
WOW:

SW: 10 stone 6.8 lbs
CW: 9 stone 6
GW: 9 stone 5 (by Saturday 🤣🙈)

So close. Oh well. Going for a Xmas meal with my cousin today so I don't think I'll make that goal. I'm just going to enjoy myself as much as I can and try not to worry about weight.

As I said the other day, the wheels had fully come off. I was literally just eating whatever I wanted. But, it was TOTM and I need to start putting 2 & 2 together and realising that's probably the cause and not being so harsh on myself when I'm up.

@LemonDrizzle23 and @TheRealHousewife
Thinking of you both. I hope you manage to find some quiet, peaceful time this Xmas to just be. I definitely recommend counselling, but don't be afraid to change counsellor if the first one you find isn't working! It's got to be right for you for it to work 🩷

@socks1107 I'm with you. I can't wait until January and all of the treats will be gone. But I also don't want to wish life away! It's so hard 🤣🙈

@WearyAuldWumman went to the coop to look for this baileys deal you spoke of and ended up finding beers on sale 🤣🙈 4 for £2.50. It was real good beer as well, so we ended up with 8 boxes 🤣🙈

@Fellsbells thanks. It sucks. I wonder if the chemist could tell me what it is. Hmmm.

Well done everyone checking in during this gloomy December 💖

Fellsbells · 17/12/2025 08:54

Morning wowers and well done everyone.

I’m on target today. It is 1lb up from last week, but considering what I ate Thursday to Sunday it’s a wonder it’s not more.

July 25 - 10st 2
CW/GW- 9st 4

good luck if you’re weighing today.

TheRealHousewife · 17/12/2025 09:37

Good Morning Ladies

Thank you for the kind words ❤️

WOW - 9st 2lbs - Still maintaining; Unusually I’ve not tracked or counted cals religiously. Come January I’m going to make a concerted effort to lose the last half stone 👍

Sending positive vibes for great WOWs for you all!

Things have gone loopy here so just sending hugs to those who need them and congratulations to those who have stuck with it this week regardless of any loss.

WOW of 53.05kg for me today.

WearyAuldWumman · 17/12/2025 12:31

Glad about the beer, @Marshmellowbunny .

Weight...

Amazingly, I'm back down to 13st13.5 lbs.

You don't want the details, but I'm thinking that the combination of the 'light touch' FODMAP diet plus probiotics is finally making a difference after 4 yrs of being unwell. Crumbs.

FridayNighFeeling · 17/12/2025 12:43

Well done all for getting on the scales. Up 1lb but not that fussed at the moment. Hormones/peri also playing havoc here.

(((hugs))) and Flowers to you all

socks1107 · 17/12/2025 13:22

I have put on this week! Not to worried as eating to maintain and enjoying my food!

Emmadaily · 17/12/2025 20:15

Well done to everyone
Oh its definitely a difficult time of the year
Lots of festivities
Too much distraction and some of us missing our loved ones who have passed.
Having said that hopefully we pick ourselves up and enjoy the Christmas break.
So well done for getting on those scales and reporting in whatever the results
New year new beginnings just around the corner but in the meantime we can all try enjoy ourselves
Some lovely food and laughs to enjoy with our families ☺ xx

LemonDrizzle23 · 18/12/2025 09:41

Grotty grey day here today, so my morning walk is a walk in front of the tv with some Christmas chocolate!

Today I will be baking a cake and also marzipanning the Christmas cake. Both the butter for the cake, and the marzipan are in the living room warming up to room temperature, as our kitchen is chilly 😂

TheWayTheLightFalls · 18/12/2025 14:37

OMAD here today, not very consciously or deliberately - again a healthy ready meal and a Hanukkah doughnut. Lots of health stress and my appetite seems to have vanished. Also - god this weather!
