Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

Well done @PersistentRain amazing progress.

@TheWayTheLightFalls hipe you had a lovely brunch.

Within cals again today despite a few lindors.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 22/12/2025 20:54

Thanks @Fellsbells . English breakfast with scrambled eggs at around 10, nothing else. It was probably a bit too much food in one go, delicious but sat on my stomach for hours after. The rest of the day was broadly fine, busy with work so not much time to think about food.

No idea how the scales will look tomorrow, let’s see!

LegoTherapy · 22/12/2025 21:51

I bought a lovely baguette and sweet chilli Philadelphia from Sainsbury’s for dinner tonight. I’d been upset all day about my mum being in hospital and hadn’t eaten bar 3 fig rolls and half a vegan sausage roll. I didn’t even finish my cup of tea. So I was really hungry and looking forward to it. It failed to hit the spot at all and I’m quite disappointed. Always feels like wasted calories when I don’t enjoy something to eat. Pfft.

@TheWayTheLightFallsthe Festival of Doughnuts sounds like perfection.

biscuitcat · 22/12/2025 23:08

Oh no @LegoTherapy, food not hitting the spot is just the worst, feels like such a con!

I think I was somewhere around my calories today, but snacked a fair amount of chocolate which won’t have helped! We took the kids to a lovely outdoor museum which at least got my steps up, so hopefully balanced out the snacking…

Amazing work, @PersistentRain - it’ll feel such an achievement to get into the 70s! I’m hoping not to be too far behind you in getting there too.

Alwayslearning25 · 23/12/2025 06:00

@LegoTherapy sorry to hear about your mum.

Just a random question. I know eggs are now considered healthy. I love a dippy egg with soldiers. Happy to have it as a treat, but if I were to eat it regularly, can anyone suggest some healthy soldiers.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 23/12/2025 07:34

@LegoTherapy highly anticipated food being disappointed is the worst. See also, when you make/order something and are about to eat it, and get interrupted so it gets cold/dry/gloopy. Aargh.

I'm sorry your mum is poorly, especially at this time of year.

@Alwayslearning25 probably "real" bread if you can. A good sourdough etc But tbh if it's something you want and crave, just have it however you want it and factor it into your calories.

Not sure what I'm doing foodwise today. Haven't broken my fast yet, bar coffee, and this morning is full on at work - so I may power through til 1pm ish. And then mayyyyybe OMAD? Bank a few more calories for the coming days? Let's see.

Anyway, I'm off to collect every turkey, trifle, sprout, sandwich, sushi, party platter that the supermarkets haven't sold, to distribute to those that need it via my work - wish me luck!

LemonDrizzle23 · 23/12/2025 10:00

Sorry to hear about your mum @LegoTherapyand your food disappointment.

All our Christmas food has started to arrive today and we appear to have pretty much everything ordered! We also all have stinking colds, again, so that’s fun. At least everything is pretty much done, presents are wrapped. Just a Christmas cake to ice today and a bit of cooking tomorrow - stuffing, cabbage etc.

LemonDrizzle23 · 23/12/2025 10:01

@TheWayTheLightFalls that sounds like a lovely and very worthwhile thing to be doing at Christmas. Good work!

Argh, that’s poor timing lemon, sorry to hear that.

I love my work! The volunteer goodwill at xmas time especially really lifts me up. I feel like santa claus.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 23/12/2025 18:46

Omad done! Roast chicken and sides around 1pm, with dry cereal for dessert because I was a hair aware from opening the yule log! Will weigh tmrw for what it’s worth. Planning a first meal at 1pm or so as work will be flat out, then the traditional (for Jews!) Chinese food on Christmas Eve after we’ve been to the crib service.

FridayNighFeeling · 23/12/2025 19:52

Sending (((hugs))) @LegoTherapy life is complicated. My family are on the other side of the world, DH hasn't really any left, but we have each other and the teens so having a quiet day... Hope your mum is OK.

I won't be weighing till the 5th. Trying and failing to reign it in, but oh well!

TheRealHousewife · 23/12/2025 20:50

Hi Everyone

Sending a hug @LegoTherapy 💐

Are you all feeling festive? Christmas seems to have arrived all at once! One minute I’m doing a Christmas List in November, blinked once or twice and here it is!

Wheels have fallen off food wise here. Had chocolate, cake and a gin in the past few days 😮😅. To have one of those is unusual for me but all 3 … must have had a f* it moment or 3. I’ll still WOW tomorrow and see where I’m at.

I wish you all a fabulous Christmas Eve and if I don’t get back on, Merry Christmas xx

Fellsbells · 23/12/2025 21:05

I’m utterly exhausted. Today has been so long. Lots of enjoyable things, but I feel like this morning was 2 days ago.

I’m within calories, but it’s been slightly more carby than of late.

Bracing myself for Christmas eve, the never ending jobs that all need sorting.

WearyAuldWumman · 23/12/2025 21:11

Had a bramble gin and tonic last night.

Fortunately, I dropped the box of fudge that came the hamper from my in-laws, so I haven't eaten it all...

biscuitcat · 23/12/2025 21:47

I think my calories today are a distant memory! The only redeeming feature is that I didn’t really have breakfast (a florentine and coffee out and about doing errands instead) or lunch (a piece of toast with almond butter and a banana) - but I did have lots of offcuts from the gingerbread house I made, lasagne and garlic bread for dinner, a strawberry tart, and some Advocaat. I don’t feel brilliant on it to be honest! Will aim to rein it in a bit tomorrow, then all bets are off on the big day…

LegoTherapy · 24/12/2025 00:02

A McDonald’s for dinner after visiting my mum wasn’t great but nevermind. The fries were half eaten as usual. Other than that I had toast for breakfast and a vegan sausage roll late tonight because I was hungry. That’s it. Tomorrow I can eat chocolate again. I can’t say I’m bothered but suspect once I start I’ll find it difficult to then stop. I have a packet of M&S chocolate raisins as my chocolate treat seeing as my much wanted toblerone is still off the cards. I was hoping the allergy testing would allow me to eat a festive toblerone but they said I need to do a food challenge to be sure even though my blood tests and skin prick tests were negative.
Tomorrow I’ll make a big batch of luxury mash ready for the Christmas Day fried potato buttie for breakfast. I’m really looking forward to it.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 24/12/2025 06:22

Morning! WoW is 71.5kg today - happy with that.

Good luck Wowers - and I hope the next few days are good / festive / bearable for everyone here - I know many of us here aren’t finding it the easiest time or are spending it alone, but I hope it passes well.

LemonDrizzle23 · 24/12/2025 07:47

Morning WOWers! I decided to check the damage and actually it’s fine. I’m about 1.5lbs up, which considering we’ve had almost the whole of December now, and I’m currently ill, I’m ok with that!

CW: 13 st 11.4

I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas period as they can. I’m feeling the loss of my mum intensely right now, but DS8 is so excited, and friends and family have been so kind, there is still a lot of Christmassy joy to be had.

I hope you all have absolutely massive roast dinners tomorrow, with all the trimmings! And I’m looking forward to carrying on into 2026 with you all 🎉

biscuitcat · 24/12/2025 08:13

Good morning WOW-ers! I’m 0.5lbs down which feels about right (maybe a touch kind) for how I’ve eaten this week. I’m not planning on tracking properly for the next couple of days, but not going to go totally mad and I’d like to be where I am now or a little lower to see in 2026.

I hope those of you having a tough time get through it unscathed, and feeling as festive as possible 💜

Fellsbells · 24/12/2025 08:23

Morning wowers. well done if you’re checking in here on Christmas eve.

I’m down over a lb from last week. Feels like I’m starting to own it (unless I have a Chinese takeaway which spikes me for 4 days) I’ve lost 1st 2lbs this year and currently below goal.

Today and tomorrow should be fine because I’m busy. It’s afterwards when I start eating all the chocolates. Going to stay strong and resist this year!

Good luck everyone and a very Happy Christmas to you all.

socks1107 · 24/12/2025 09:22

I’ve stayed the same which was my goal this month! So quite happy and ready for Christmas!
just Need to finish work now!

Christmassy non-scale victory - this year I could take off all my rings before I made the stuffing, whereas last year my fingers were too chubby to take them off!!

LegoTherapy · 24/12/2025 14:06

8st 4lb steady Eddie here. Have a great Christmas everyone! 🎄
