Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️Joyful June 2025☀️

OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Summers arrived!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs. Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

I weighed myself this morning!

SW: 204.6lbs (July 1st)
GW: 180lbs
Goal for July would be -8lbs so 196.6lbs

Will be back later

PatienceOfEngels · 01/07/2025 09:35

I have lost exactly nothing the last month but no gain either.

76kg with a BMI of 27.9

Am 8kg overweight (68 for a healthy BMI) and have been to and fro between 79 and 69 kg since late 2020 (before that I managed to lose a fair bit post the first lockdown).

2 SEN kids and DH, work part-time, live abroad (and zero support network), mid 40s and finding it really hard to shut any weight the last year.

-I don't drink or have caffeine after breakfast.
-I try to walk everyday (bit struggling in the current heatwave).
-Love yoga and feel at my best when doing a daily practice but haven't managed for the last 6-7 months.
-Cook meals mostly from scratch but scarf junk when stressed or anxious, especially in the evenings or when I'm home alone on days off.
-struggling with screen time which doesn't help anxiety.

I would be happy to lose anything this month! Just about to start school holidays which can make it easier for me to make healthy changes.

Today:
-boiled egg and rye toast, butter, 2 x coffee with milk
-piece of homemade quiche and small chicken salad
-Mexican bean chilli wraps with lettuce/cheese/creme fraiche and some nachos.

It's already 30 degrees outside and it's not even 11am so no walk for me today unless it's cool enough at 8pm for a walk in the woods.

FrothyCothy · 01/07/2025 09:39

Checking in as fell off the last thread due to work going crazy. Lost 1.3kg in June, so not a total disaster but not much to shout about either. Kept up some good habits that I really need to stick this month!

Fellsbells · 01/07/2025 10:11

Well done to all the Wowers.

I’m 9st 12 today which is a surprise as I did eat that cornetto yesterday (and some biscuits), but I had lots of protein and salad so that must have worked in my favour.

It’s a blissful 21C in the North today, hope it breaks soon for those still stuck in the heat wave. It’s been too hot to run so hoping to get back on it today or tomorrow.

@PatienceOfEngels I read your post and just wanted to give you a big hug ❤️. You have such a lot going on it’s no wonder you find ‘distraction’ via your screen and sometimes snacking. Don’t be too hard on yourself, you are doing your best under difficult circumstances. That said you haven’t gained! That’s awesome and suggests you’re not significantly eating your feelings, which at the time can feel like an easy fix. If it’s any consolation I’m your STS Twin … I haven’t lost for a couple of months and I understand just how frustrating it can be. Sending positive vibes x

Hi can I please join?
I’ve been trying to loose weight for a while now and I’d like some accountability. I find it really hard as I have three kids and my energy levels are low! My husband also loves a treat and my will power is rubbish!

Starting weight 80kg
Current weight 76.6kg
Goal weight (short term) 70kg

LemonDrizzle23 · 01/07/2025 11:00

Well this morning I practiced “following the plan, not the mood”! Against my mood, I went and did a 5km walk first thing after school drop off. It’s still hot - already 27C at 11am. Looks like everything cools down a bit tomorrow thankfully.

I have planned our meals for the week and put my work outs into my calendar. This month I’m going to trial swapping chicken thighs for chicken breast, to help control calories. I have three meals out in July which I intend to enjoy, but will also aim to make vaguely reasonable choices.

My July goal: I want to see ‘13 st something’ on the scales by the last WOW of July. This will mean losing 4-6lbs this month, which I think is realistic.

PatienceOfEngels · 01/07/2025 11:05

Thanks @TheRealHousewife 💐

I think that recognizing the things I struggle with is half the battle, even if I don't have the headspace to tackle them all at the moment. It's been a tricky 6 months and my home situation is complicated. Trying to enjoy the small things 💛(and stay cool....going to be 37 here today 🔥)

TheRealHousewife · 01/07/2025 11:17

Welcome to the thread @Butterontoast 👍 3 Children must keep you busy! Try to get quality sleep, keep hydrated and get the protein in along with healthy fats and plenty of veg & salad etc. This will also help you increase your energy levels … but in this heat it is harder! Good luck 🤞

Can I join please? Away on holiday on the 30th July so would like some accountability until then!
I feel like I’m finally doing all the right things, focusing on whole foods and calorie deficit, but somehow I always just feel a bit puffy.
I’m currently doing 30 day shred, along with hot yoga once a week, and walking 15k steps a day. Any tips for flushing out water retention/bloat? Keep seeing lots of supplements all over the internet but not sure which ones actually work?

CW 9st 5

Well this morning I practiced “following the plan, not the mood”!

Love this @LemonDrizzle23 !

@Fellsbells it's Tuesday today Grin. Tbh with the heat it's turning into an incredibly long week so WOW, WOT, whatever, I'm going with it.

Had lunch of a couscous salad, leaves and a mini Magnum. Now having a black coffee. Roasted a chicken late yesterday so that will be everyone's meals the next few days now.

Leeks are mildly diuretic so may help flush things through.

HazelNotHungryLC · 01/07/2025 15:42

I weighed this morning (but I'm a daily weigher) I gained 1.5lbs since yesterday morning! I know it's just water weight though. I'm currently at the highest weight I've been since April! I haven't been as strict as I should though, not been logging my food consistently, which really helps me stay on track. I've been eating more carbs than I should and not drinking enough water. It's time to focus & get back on track again, starting today!

CW: 169.1lbs
GW: 155lbs

My plan for today:
B: coffee with cream (it's enough for me to keep going until lunch)
L: egg salad
D: BEAT salad (bacon, egg, avocado, tomato, it's very good, easy and light)

Lots of water. No alcohol.
I need to fit in yoga and spin bike workouts in my week somewhere, I just have to make the time. I really should start lifting weights again (we even have a home gym, so no excuse!).

biscuitcat · 01/07/2025 18:11

Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife!

My aim at the moment is to lose my holiday weight by next WOW, which feels very doable - and my first big goal is to drop a stone before my oldest starts school in September (I’m going to be generous to myself and have until he goes in full time on the 15th as they do a phased start for reception!). I’m doing quite well at sticking to a low UPF diet and feeling good for it - and also finding I’m craving UPF snacks much less than usual. Luckily I’m also in charge of basically all of our food shopping so I try to make sure I don’t have stuff I know I can’t resist in the house (sorry DH!).

I’ve also got extra weight in my boobs at the moment 😂 littlest DS is feeding so much in this heat that they’re constantly full of milk!

LemonDrizzle23 · 01/07/2025 19:40

@TheWayTheLightFalls It’s a really interesting way (for me) of cutting out all the internal debates. Do I fancy it? Am I up for it? Am I a bit tired? Doesn’t matter, just follow the plan and don’t over think it and debate your way out of it!

DH has also been enjoying getting moving and losing weight. Now he has invited me to a challenge via the Apple Watch to see who can get the most move, stand and activity points this week.
I’m obviously going to have to beat him 😂 Starts tomorrow, so ties in nicely with WOW.

Raindancer411 · 01/07/2025 21:08

I am joining in for my first full month with you, I hope. I have noticed since starting the 16:8, and cutting back the sweet stuff, I am not feeling as hungry and am not craving as much sweet stuff.

SW: 134.4lbs
CW: 129.7lbs
GW: 114lbs

Architect3000 · 01/07/2025 22:09

Thanks for this thread!
I need accountability.
Tried on my own in June but the last week was chaotic for external reasons
Now need to get back on track

StudyWasp · 02/07/2025 05:20

SW: 77.8kg/171.5lbs/12.3 stone
GW: 60kg/132lbs/9.4 stone.

Weighing myself this morning was not fun in the slightest, but I'm proud of myself for doing it. Can't tackle the problem unless you fully understand the problem!

EasternEcho · 02/07/2025 05:23

Good morning everyone,

SW: 173
CW: 159.6
GW: 130
I weighed in at 159. 6 this morning down from 161.6 last week. I haven't seen the 150s on the scale since 2018, so I'm quite happy about that :) I did have a couple of slip ups this week, but nothing major. I work mostly from home so staying away from food is a battle each day. I'm out all morning today so that's a relief.

I can see I'm getting my old jawline back!

Looking forward to reading everyone's updates.

StudyWasp · 02/07/2025 05:41

My last stint at losing weight saw me ditch UPFs. I lost so much fat so quickly.

I find that you have to STICK to it though, like you can't just say "I won't eat all these things but X is okay" because then the UPF pulls you back in and soon enough you're eating a bag of Percy pigs and telling yourself it's okay because they're from m&s...

All this to say that I am going to have another stab at this!!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 02/07/2025 06:11

Morning! Weighed for WOW and still maintaining here - 74.5kg / BMI of 23.4. Happy! I am falling into a bit of a pattern of eating more or less on certain days of the week, which is nice to see - it feels predictable and reassuring, so I’m not getting stressed when it’s Saturday and I am eating a bit more.
