Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️Joyful June 2025☀️

OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Summers arrived!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs. Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

12st 0.5lb. That’s a stone gone since 27th May. Another pound to go to get to my first target, ideally by Wednesday.

socks1107 · 18/07/2025 09:41

I put 4lb on in 4 days!! How? I walked loads, didn’t snack, chose carefully.
it shows me how when I lose the last stone I’m going to have to be mindful forever really. What a shock

Fellsbells · 18/07/2025 12:20

@socks1107 it’s probably water/salt/hornones/food in your system. It’ll come off as quickly as it went on. Maintaining goal weight is a nightmare though! Not something I’m ever able to do for long.

My weight is down a little more today. I am counting calories, but it’s mostly due to IBS. If I eat I can’t leave the house. It’s very restrictive, but amazing for weight loss. Going to reintroduce some safe foods today in small amounts and hope I can handle them.

socks1107 · 18/07/2025 12:23

@Fellsbells thank you! Drinking as much water as I can today to flush the rubbish out.
That sounds really hard for you, what are your safe foods if you don’t mind me asking

Fellsbells · 18/07/2025 12:30

Small amounts of chicken, potatoes (boiled) nothing roasted or fried, White bread, small amount of boiled vegetables. Basically prison food! Salmon is normally ok, but it hasn’t been this week. Tried half a kefir yoghurt drink yesterday, but that was also a mistake. Curry and rice is normally very kind to me so I’ll try that as well.

PreetyinPurple · 18/07/2025 12:38

I’m finding the heat makes me retain water.
So I lost weight on tuesday, went back up and back down today. Fingers crossed for loss tomorrow. I’m finding it hard to work out/walk in the heat though.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 18/07/2025 13:36

I was pleased to be down a pound today since WOW. I think that’s just water retention and getting over my period tbh, but gives me a better idea how much weight I put on over the holidays. Now sitting at 3lbs over, so hopefully that won’t take long to come off now I’m back to health eating.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 18/07/2025 15:47

Wow that sounds very restrictive @Fellsbells

Just thought I'd pop in before we go away to say I'm 6lbs down with the help of you ladies. Going to stick to IF as much as possible, but food choices will probably not be that great, but once I'm back in August I do want to try and crack on even more strictly. I still feel huge (because I am) and uncomfortable.

I've walked about an extra 10 miles this week - most of it yesterday which was lucky as I had a home made pizza of about 800cals last night!

Have a good week all and I will see you in a week's time for accountability.

LemonDrizzle23 · 19/07/2025 09:03

Well the mystery 2.5lbs is off again as quickly as it arrived. Maybe it was cycle related? Or heat related? I’m with you @PreetyinPurple- I swear during the heatwaves, my weight has been going up. Apparently your body retains water to cool you down, so it might be an actual thing! A good reason not throw in the towel as soon as it looks like im gaining though.

Back under 200lbs again, and so close to be 20lbs down and see a 13 on the scale…

Have lots of sensible meals planned - apart from Tuesday night we’re going out for bbq! So I will definitely weigh in a day early. Summer holidays start on Wednesday, so I need to make a real plan to keep getting my movement in.

PreetyinPurple · 19/07/2025 09:28

Another 0.2kg off for me. Sadly it’s rainy here today otherwise I would have gone for an hours long walk this morning.
So this month I’ve lost nearly 6 pounds, but I have been starting to work out too. So everything is starting to feel loose which is great. I’m still scared of damaging my knees so I’m just doing stuff at home.
i have a whole wardrobe i can’t fit in yet though!

CursiveCrisis · 19/07/2025 09:30

1lb on but yesterday was last day of term, we had ice cream, cakes and donuts, then drinks out in the evening so I don’t think it’s too bad at all!

socks1107 · 19/07/2025 10:02

I’ve lost 1lb of my holiday weight already! On for a good week and catching back up. Next holiday late September so aiming for another stone

frostedshreddie · 19/07/2025 10:54

I caved on the sugar front yesterday 😑 so only did 5 days straight but I am back on it today as I did feel better avoiding it and the UPF.

Did a dance workout on YT this morning, with my kids they loved it! I'm glad its 6 weeks holidays now and we are free of the school run time restraints!!! Hopefully should be able to get into a good routine with workouts :)

Fellsbells · 19/07/2025 13:18

Yesterday was within calories, but quite carby.

So far today I’ve been for a run, skipped breakfast and had BBQ for lunch (lots of lean meat, no bread or burgers so it’s pretty healthy)

Coulddowithanap · 20/07/2025 12:45

Anyone else weigh themselves everyday?
I've started doing it as then I can see a trend of my weight going down even if it is slightly up on weigh in day.

I ate half of my 'exercise calories' yesterday, I usually try not to as I know they aren't accurate but I though half of them won't be too bad, plus the ice cream was worth it 😄

PreetyinPurple · 20/07/2025 13:03

I weigh daily. I lose weight and then it always goes back up a bit before falling again. I wouldn’t want to weigh myself once a week in case it was a day my weight was going up.

I do. I need it for accountability.

biscuitcat · 20/07/2025 15:34

@Coulddowithanap I do most days, I find it useful seeing the pattern and how much it can fluctuate.

CursiveCrisis · 20/07/2025 16:13

Yep, sometimes a couple of times a day!

socks1107 · 20/07/2025 20:36

So I’m back on calories today. Post holiday and getting back on it.
I also weigh every day and find it helps

Sjanish33 · 20/07/2025 21:07

I weigh everyday on my analogue scales but I only log the weekly weigh on a digital as it is more accurate and about a 4lb difference heavier I know though I have lost if the needle has moved :) on the other scales - so my weekly weigh is never a huge surprise but still never looks as good as I hope for

It has been a stressful week but I am proud I haven't leaned into food and alcohol like I normally would when stressed - I think I can say I am in a bit of a zone.

QueenMabby · 21/07/2025 02:10

Currently in Japan on holiday. The breakfast buffets are brutal and I’m eating a lot of food. Never mind! Will just keep an eye on this thread so I can re-join in August!

LemonDrizzle23 · 21/07/2025 15:44

Japanese buffet breakfast sounds amazing @QueenMabby!

My weight has been bouncing around like mad the last couple of weeks, but I hit a new low today after my walk. 1lb away from 20lbs lost, so I hope I will
hit that target before the end of July 🙌🏻

TheWayTheLightFalls · 21/07/2025 18:02

That sounds promising @LemonDrizzle23 !

OK day here. School hols have started so I had a DC here with me and a morning out shopping. I had a Greggs tuna baguette (411 calories), a ready meal (567), a bubble tea with no added sugar (no idea), plus a big black coffee in lieu of breakfast.

HazelNotHungryLC · 21/07/2025 19:34

Posting for accountability. I hope that's okay!
I was supposed to have got back on track after my trip last month. Nope.
We went camping this weekend and I ate way too much sugar and carbs, so much that I was feeling really sick yesterday 😩
So needless to say, I'm back on track, firmly this time.
Last night I did a little bit of yoga and noticed the skin above my knees is really saggy. That has got to go! It's time to get my carbs low, fat high and really get serious about lifting weights. I've done it before, I can do it again!

SW this morning: 167.3lbs
1st GW: 160lbs
Ultimate GW: 150-155lbs

B: coffee with cream (I don't eat breakfast)
L: lettuce wrapped deli meat & cheese with Boursin
D: same as lunch, maybe with avocado as well

I weigh daily, I have to, or I gain. I like to know where I'm at though and it gives me an idea of what makes the scales go up and down.
I'm also logging on mfp again, so I can keep myself accountable.
