Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️Joyful June 2025☀️

OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Summers arrived!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs. Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

I'm so busy at the moment. I would like to go to the gym as well as run but with work it's just not possible. At the moment I'm running at 6am, then getting ready for work. I don't trust myself to do anything in the evening after work!

I set myself the task of running a marathon and tbh I'm finding it quite enjoyable. Wish I'd got into London marathon though!

Does anyone else have a workout routine to make sure you actually do it?

TheRealHousewife · 03/07/2025 14:04

Hi Everyone

I missed WOW yesterday due to absolutely forgetting about it 😅 Weigh-in today is the same as earlier this week. So basically STS even though I’ve been on point. I’ll just keep calm and carry on 😬

@StudyWasp Well done for braving the scales! It isn’t always easy. 👍 You can do this! Get in the right head space and you can achieve goals! You asked about fitting exercise in - I have an exercise mat, free weights & kettle bells at home. Currently I’m trying to be consistent in following the Fast800 programme short daily exercise sessions. Also when I feel able I do a few sets of light weights in between. As for routine, I don’t really have one due to limitations. As and when is the way I get some exercise in.

@EasternEcho Congratulations on getting back into the 150’s 🥳

Nicely swerved the gain! @LemonDrizzle23 👍

Great weigh-in @LegoTherapy 👏🥳

@PatienceOfEngels I hope you soon find some relief from the heat! 🥵

@CraigLogansForehead 2lbs overnight … awesome 😮👏

@mermadeincornwall Nice weekly weight loss! Well done! 👍👏 (ps have you been on our threads previously under another tag?)

@socks1107 1/2lb is 1/2lb 👍👏. Every bit helps. Weight loss jabs 😅. It’s lovely that your father has noticed!

@GrannyInTheGarden2025 1lb loss is great 👍

@WearyAuldWumman You are getting in some marvellous exercise!!! 🥇👏👍

@SummerOak Great update, thank you for sharing!

@NorthDevonBeachLover Welcome to the thread 👍

Shared a little Snoopy sentiment for those of you who’ve STS or gained and you’re managing to keep going ❤️

Menu
Meal 1 - Chicken Burrito Wrap.
Meal 2 - Stir fry prawns & salad. Greek yoghurt, pecans.

Drinks - Tea, black coffee & water.

Flapjacks are a great idea and a good starting point. Something I think they will eat too!! Thank you for the suggestions:)

Fellsbells · 03/07/2025 18:46

good points this week:-
went for a run yesterday and a 6km walk today.
IBS is stable.
My period isn’t heavy.
I’m sleeping really well.
weight has been a stable 9st 12.

I did make pancakes tonight and accidentally ate lots! But I’ve got a long run planned tomorrow so they’re fuel really.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 03/07/2025 19:20

Various salads here today, x2, but I am typing this with a chocolate bourbon in my mouth so I’m not much of a paragon of virtue. However I did go for a long overdue smear test today so I am feeling happy with myself for just finally bloody doing it.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 03/07/2025 20:07

@frostedshreddie I bought a lovely flapjack with pumpkin seeds and raisins in today (home made in a charity cafe sort of set up) Went down very well.

Some amazing positives here.

I've done a walk with Leslie - just a quick mile - on top of the normal running around and going to do a quick yoga tonight before bed too. Trying to look after myself in the midst of end of year chaos!

TealSloth · 03/07/2025 20:17

I hope ive loss something tommorow not been a good week for me at all. I need at least 1 pound or half loss for this week. But ive not given up.

highstoolfling · 03/07/2025 20:37

Joining. Marriage exploded in January and I’ve been comfort eating since. Starting a new job in August and would like to feel a bit more confident in my work trousers. Have gained a 16ish pounds in 6 months. So will update Wednesday

LegoTherapy · 03/07/2025 21:04

Not a good food day today as I’ve not eaten much. Over 11 miles walked on less than a thousand calories. Must do better tomorrow.

welcome newcomers!

LemonDrizzle23 · 03/07/2025 21:13

Well I’m currently beating DH in the Apple Watch challenge. I’m on 1105 points, and he is trailing with 756. I’m not entirely clear how the points are being assigned, but I’m winning, so fuck it 😂

Non scale victory today. I found two T-shirts at the bottom of my drawer, that had been put there because they’d “shrunk in the wash”. Well now I’ve shrunk too and they fit loosely. So effectively have two new T-shirts!

GoodNamesOnly · 03/07/2025 22:06

Please can I join? I am so sick of yo-yo dieting and I haven't decided what to do yet. I feel like I have tried the lot and don't really believe in any of them ny more. I like to think I could not follow a diet and just eat healthily, but the scales say otherwise! Most recently I did the low carb boot camp on here. I think I did about 5 weeks and lost a stone, which felt amazing. But then I stopped because I went out for one meal, and then I put it all back on. So annoyed with myself. I feel like my main battle is with my brain.

My eating downfall is definitely grazing throughout the day. I have been WFH most days since about a month ago and I can't seem to stop myself, whereas in the office I happily only ate lunch and no snacks.

Oh and my other downfalls are bread, cheese and wine...

I have bought myself a fitness tracker and been making sure I get at least 10k steps a day - more like 15-20k on a good day. Drinking plenty of water. Swimming a bit, but not as much as I should. I am also good at going to bed on time, which I believe helps a bit.

Will pick a plan at some point very soon. I will weigh myself in the morning but I think I am 13 stone.

Welcome! In my humble opinion the word diet has a lot to answer for. In my experience, and looking at those on here, and in the outside world who are successful in losing then maintaining, the key is to make it a change in lifestyle rather than a diet. A diet implies short term for quick results whereas a lifestyle change is a long term plan for a healthier body, mind and soul. I changed the way I ate nearly 3 years ago now and I’ve mentioned the sane approach except for cutting out UPFs as much as possible. The key is balance. Deprivation will only make us hungry and likely to give up because we are miserable. I still eat the odd McDonald’s or takeaway pizza and at a push can put away an entire pizza at our local Italian (except I’m watching carbs now so I’ll be switching to the smaller version or the spinach and ricotta cannellini that is amazing), but day to day I eat fairly clean and where possible go for quality over quantity. There is so much great advice on here and you’ll find plenty of tips (close the kitchen by 7pm and brush your teeth after your evening meal being good ones) and support. We are very sensible and are in it for the long haul. There’s names on here that are like old friends and we keep each other going. One thing I picked up on from your post was that a meal out set you off on regaining. We always say that one big meal out, or a fortnight on holiday, a birthday weekend or whatever causes a gain and breaks us away from our usually carefully planned food and exercise plan doesn’t matter. We just get back on plan and plod on. It’s a minor thing in the great scheme of a healthier lifestyle. I view losing weight and eating more healthily as a gift to myself to help prevent health issues as I get older, help to keep the ones I’ve got stable, and from a vanity point of view to look better 😁 Sometimes I fail because of various factors and I don’t post for a while because I haven’t got the headspace, but I always come back and I keep an eye on the thread even if I don’t post for a while. Knowing that others are keeping going helps me keep going. I lost over 2 stone thanks to these threads. I gained a few kilos after Christmas and couldn’t get back into it for ages but I’m losing again slowly and steadily and am
1.5kg off my goal weight. If I can do it then I have faith that you can do it too and you’ll be in great company here. I’ve waffled I know but your post made me want to extol the benefits of these threads because they are a great place to be. There’s only support and understanding. Never anything negative towards each other and it’s chilled out too. No competitiveness and no fads or weird crazes. Just sensible healthy eating and exercise. I’ve gone on long enough but I hope my waffle helps anyone reading who is feeling a little lost and in need of judgement-free encouragement and support. You’ve got this. You can do it and it will be worth all the effort.

StudyWasp · 04/07/2025 06:08

Good morning everyone!

77.6kg today. I feel my period is on its way (nosebleeds, bad skin, fatigue, bad body image), so I'm hopeful that I feel better soon. I'm weighing every day because if I don't, I will never weigh myself.

Had my new job induction yesterday. Everyone is SO SLIM. I felt huge in comparison! I used to be so slim as well... It feels like a mountainous task!

I go back in September (teacher) so at least I have about 2 months to knuckle down and actually get my weight down.

I'm trying to still do lovely things for myself even if I've not had my "glow up" yet, so I booked my husband and myself a holiday for later in the year.

About to go on a run! 5km today.

Hope everyone has a beautiful Friday!

Fellsbells · 04/07/2025 06:41

Well done on your new job @StudyWasp

@GoodNamesOnly welcome. Like Lego said, slow and steady wins the race. Being really restrictive gives you a quick loss, but when you fall off the wagon it all goes back on, and more.

A slow sustainable loss where you’re eating foods you love becomes a habit that you can maintain. You can definitely do it.

LegoTherapy · 04/07/2025 06:58

@StudyWaspcongratulations on the new job. Please don’t be down on yourself or compare yourself to others even though I know it’s hard not to. I think no matter how much somebody weighs they have a hang up about their appearance in some way. I think it’s human nature to envy others though. You’ve got this.

LegoTherapy · 04/07/2025 07:42

Another small drop this morning. I’m nearly in the 55kg bracket which is my goal, for now. Ideally less but I feel better at 55kg. Ultimate would be 52kg or 8st 2-3lb but I don’t know how a how able that is.

SummerOak · 04/07/2025 09:31

Well done @LegoTherapy My ultimate goal would be 55kg (my wedding weight), feels so long ago but it's only been 3 years.
I weighed myself this morning as well and I went from 68.8 to 68.1, so I'm thinking it was all water weight.

Went for a run this morning. For breakfast I had high protein quark. For lunch we'll have hamburgers (I won't have the fries) and dinner is prawn salad.

TealSloth · 04/07/2025 09:53

This weekend i need to behave and be on my best behavior. I've not done too good last weekend. Need to sort it out. This weekend. Need to see a difference tommorow on my scales. And be good for Monday.

TheRealHousewife · 04/07/2025 10:12

I love hearing everyone’s meal plans!

Today I’ve had Greek yoghurt with honey and raspberry chia jam for breakfast, lunch tbc depending on time, and planning spinach garlic gnocchi for dinner - yum!

If anyone has any suggestions for easy fibre increases I’d be hugely appreciative, I’m definitely not having enough as I think I’m tending towards lower fibre fruits and veggies (the raspberry chia jam is an attempt to combat this!).

Journeyto180 · 04/07/2025 12:07

@MsSauerkraut - I'm def 4 inches shorter than you - but have really similar starting and goal weight. My first step is to get under 200lbs which hopefully will be in the next couple of weeks! You can def do this! I'm also new here, but the group feels amazing and supportive

I've been a step queen this week, just need to make sure I keep it up today and over the weekend! Sat & Sun are both busy and mostly centred around food, so need to make sure that on both days I get myself moving early in the morning, because it will not happen in the later parts of the day. Will avoid the breads and carbs, but treat myself to a drink (or 3)! I've also promised myself a 5k at some point this weekend, so need to make sure I plan that in properly.
