Weighing in for May at 74.8kg. That means I put on 1.5kg over April and our holiday last week. Expect it to come down a bit this week as my body recovers from the UK (we ate supermarket pizza twice, had 2 barbecues so lots of bread, mostly white).
So:
SW 77kg (Oct 2022 when I started on here - was 79kg August 2022)
CW 74.8kg
GW1 68kg (Healthy BMI)
GW2 63.5kg (10 stone! Not sure how realistic this is).
So, for this year I have almost 7kg to lose. I almost did it last year - got down to 69kg in January 2024.
Yesterday ended up with prawn/egg fried rice for dinner, and banana pancakes with strawberries for lunch. Grapes for snack. Did eat some salted pistachios and cheese in the evening, and a few chunks of Toblerone. Must knock it on the head during this week.
Got in a walk before dinner - took the scenic route to the supermarket - and an hour gardening. That with an hour of chores and up and down the stairs meant I got my steps in.
I did a far bit of reading during the day but did end up on devices before bed (because the film DH chose was so dire). Didn't get to anything creative or journal so that's on the list for today.
Semi-bank holiday here as it's Liberation day (WW2) but they only close state/public companies once every 5 years (the schools are off, but DH is not).
Today:
-boiled egg, 1x rye toast with butter, 2x coffee with milk
-leftover prawn and egg fried rice
-chicken pesto wraps with salad (cherry tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, cucumber, spring onions); with strawberries for dessert.
Have a lemon drizzle cake in the oven (meeting a friend with kids for a walk in the woods in a few hours and can't go empty handed!!!).
Would like to get some chores done today in the house or garden but also aware that I have marking sitting to be done, and I want to extend the holiday feeling just a bit longer! Kids loved going to the theatre last week so may coerce them into a NT at home (I think Life if Pi has just been added and think they'd love it). May take a little bribery though.
@LegoTherapy how did you get on with Star Wars? I don't think they have aged very well - our kids are just not interested! But I do like some of the new stuff. Andor and Rogue One my favourites so far. Got a bit fed up with the Daisy Ridley/Adam Driver Plot line in the final parts of the series.
Good luck @AnonymousMum37 and everyone else committing to ditching alcohol. I stopped drinking in January 2023 and don't miss it at all. Occasionally I'll have an non-alcoholic beer in the summer and if out (which happens very rarely) a non-alcoholic gin with some nice tonic/cucumber or lemon and lots of ice.
The only thing I do miss is a NZ sauvignon Blanc. Non-alcoholic wines are pretty much just sugar.
I wish I could switch off my cravings for savoury snack foods as easily and I have alcohol. Crisps, nuts, cheese, crackers, fried snacks......I know I feel rubbish in the long term (and even the short term). never really had sugar cravings but salt?!
Anyway, enjoy your bank holiday if you're in the UK. Beautiful sunshine here!
