⭐️ OPEN TO ALL ⭐️

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Revive & Thrive January 2025⭐️

WOW January passed in a heartbeat! Let’s keep the momentum going ladies!

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!
Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 2lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feeling really motivated today, I love a fresh month. We're on a holiday of sorts the last two weeks of Feb though so I want to do my absolute best for the first 2 weeks.

Started today off with a brunch of a fry up at a cafe however, but I got the small size and made sure to enjoy every bite- eating mindfully is a big goal for me.

LBB2020 · 01/02/2025 13:45

Can I join please? I weighed myself this morning and am 11st 1.5lbs which is disappointing but I knew it was coming!
I would love to get to 10st by the time the children break up for summer holidays. First goal is 10st7lb by Easter. I’m early 40’s and for the past couple of years have struggled with losing and gaining the same 10lbs, I really want this year to be the year I finally feel back to “myself” after having my youngest (who is now 4!).
I do struggle keeping up with these threads but will aim to weigh in once a week to keep myself accountable

TheRealHousewife · 01/02/2025 14:32

Welcome to the thread @LBB2020 . Sounds doable. Have you a plan?

@happytobemrsg I hope you soon feel better x In regards to your kitchen set up; that sounds tough to navigate. Perhaps once everyone’s eaten their last main meal clear and wipe sides and turn the light off in that part of the room (if possible that is)

@NessaSmith I love a sparkly new month too. Fresh start right there for those that need one 👍

Hi all, first time for me joining one of these weight loss threads! Age 42 and Def a bit peri. Metabolism has slowed right down over the last few years. Used to always maintain between 10st - 10st 4lb but have crept up to 11st over the course of last year. I'm about 5 7 height. Carry all my weight around my tummy and upper body/face...skinny legs. My down fall is night time watching TV and eating rubbish. Have always been a night owl and live on very little sleep. Really need to work on this. Excercise wise I run approx 3times a week which I enjoy but know I need to incorporate strength training. Friends have had huge success with calorie deficit and walking an hour a day so I'm thinking of trying this and strength training instead of running or walking an hour on the days I don't run. I would love to get to 10st or just under. Will weigh in tomorrow and then every Wednesday.

Welcome to the thread @alluphill . In the main I agree with your friends in that to lose weight you need to create a calorie deficit. You can’t lose weight without creating a deficit. The 5:2 diet & Intermittent Fasting ultimately work due to creating a calorie deficit. That said cico (cals in/cals out) are only a part of achieving weight loss (a big part) especially as we get older. There are so many fluctuating variables such as hormones, illness, exercise amount, insulin resistance, poor muscle tone, sleep quality, diet quality, medications, body type etc. You’re bang on to incorporate strength training as this will improve muscle tone thus generally be able to burn off calories easier (muscles burn cals, fat store it). You’ll lose it if you want it enough to make the changes needed. Outline your plan 👍

@TheRealHousewife I’m going to log my calories on MyFitnessPal and get back to doing some regular exercise. I loosely follow 16:8 but always have a coffee (or two) with milk and a sweetener when I get up/before my eating window starts around 11am

OnaMatUpHere · 01/02/2025 20:25

I'd like to join please. I put on a lot of weight the last few years due to stress mostly and now I don't feel good anymore. I hate the fact that my weight has stopped me being so agile.
I weigh 83.55kg I got some new body analysing scales from Argos to motivate me. I would like to get to 69kg which would still be overweight according to my BMI but I don't look good any skinnier. I have big legs and don't put a lot of weight on my top half.
I will be starting off on 1200 calories a day 16:8 and seeing how that goes and eating lots of veggies. I aim to do 10,000 steps each day and weights for 20 mins 3 times a week.
I've made a meal plan sort of and I'm going to start on Monday

Skyglimmer · 01/02/2025 20:26

January hasn't been a good start for me. I did continue to exercise but ate too much. Hopefully I can get the scales going back down again soon :)

Goodafternoonmillie · 02/02/2025 07:56

Yesterday came in @ 1536 calories which is good considering DH and DD made some scones. I absolutely could not say no to a fresh out of the oven scone with Jam and a cuppa tea 🤤😆

Today I have completed 30 mins chest & back workout (i hate push ups!!!!!) and a quick 5 mins full body stretch.

B: Smoothie
L: Mushrooms & Cous cous
D: Chicken Fajitas & Salad

have a good Sunday everyone!

Jaderz · 02/02/2025 08:48

Back from my short trip. We walked 10k a day. I did enjoy some local food but not excessive.

On leaving I was 66.5kg
I am now 68.7kg
so back up to post xmas gain
Some will be water but fgs 😂

GW is still 63kg. My aim was to get there by April but don’t think that’s possible anymore

NessaSmith · 02/02/2025 11:23

Weigh in for me today and I stayed the same, which I'm happy with as I got my period yesterday and usually gain!

19.7 :)

ForestDragon · 02/02/2025 11:55

Anyone got any tips for estimating calories for Indian restaurants who don't have nutritional information? Or should I just not bother and assume it can't take me so far off track when I'm in a really good deficit on every other day? Going out for my birthday so don't want to get too hung up on it so I don't enjoy it.... I always have tandoori chicken, about half a portion of pilau rice, salad and a chapati, which I don't think is the worse choice anyway, and currently have 900 calories available for the meal if I stick to my deficit, or about 1500-1600 if I just don't worry about that today.

Hmm, writing this out is helpful. I think I'm just going to have what I want, not go mad but enjoy it, and assume that won't add up to anything like the deficit I'm generating over a week which is sufficient that my weight is steadily coming down...

Argh, wish my birthday was later in the year when I might have less nerves about one meal throwing me off!!😂

iamyourequal · 02/02/2025 19:54

This looks a great and welcoming thread, so can I join you all? Please! 😁
I am a truly epic failure at losing weight alone.

Newname2308 · 02/02/2025 20:22

I'm in - have done a few of these threads and found them so helpful! I lost quite successfully 2023-2024 (8kg), but moving jobs and life generally getting in the way led to me creeping back up 4 of those kg. I feel a bit uncomfortable again, so I need to get back on the right track.

1/2/25 66.1 kg
TW 60 kg

StealthyBMI · 02/02/2025 20:25

@forestdragon
Have you got Nutracheck? I think you'll find those food items there..I used it yesterday to estimate the lamb curry my DH cooked, decided it was similar to a lamb rogan josh as per Nutracheck so added that in instead. But I agree you should be able to enjoy one meal without worrying, it sounds like a healthy choice anyway and we need to be able to eat healthily long term without obsessing about the calories in one meal.

ForestDragon · 02/02/2025 21:37

Ooh, thanks @StealthyBMI yes, i found most things on nutracheck (via Google!), thanks for the tip! I mostly use the in-built database in my Fitbit app which is mostly good but doesn't have them. I just added everything up rounding up a bit, then put the calories in. Good enough and not too far over really.

I didn't go mad, and enjoyed the meal. I think that it was helpful to think about it ahead of time, so I could avoid snacking today etc, but in the event I just had what I wanted and enjoyed it. A success!

Welcome to new joiners! It's a lovely thread, everyone is supportive and helpful but doing things their own way. Really enjoying being part of it!

Jenstam · 02/02/2025 21:54

Hi. Please can I join? My January weight loss went catastrophically wrong...first Monday in Feb tomorrow and I've a May holiday goal that I want to lose a stone by! I HAVE to stop faffing about and do it for my health and appearance! Baby steps will hopefully help. Tracking cals, drinking and moving more.

Fellsbells · 03/02/2025 06:52

Welcome new joiners and good luck.

Checking in with a Monday weigh, 1lb up. The weekends are never my friend! More carbs than a normal day and over calories as well.

I am going to log with MFP this week to get me back on track. I’ve been bouncing around the same few pounds for over a month now and I do want to lose that last 7lbs.

FairyBloodyMary · 03/02/2025 06:55

Morning all. Weight remains stable but I'll do an official weigh in on Wednesday seeing as being away at the weekend will have resulted in some added water weight due to salt.
We go on holiday in two weeks and I'd like to feel more confident in a swimsuit rather than a 3 piece baggy tankini but I'm not sure that will happen. My tankini is far too big now so I do need something new.
Here's to a good week and a happy Wednesday for us all.

Goodafternoonmillie · 03/02/2025 07:13

Good Morning Losers 😆
Hope everyone is doing ok

yesterdays calories: 1487
avoided the scones this time 🤩

just completed 25 mins Yoga. I need to give more time to yoga as whenever I do it I love it but I am not very good! Balance is off.

plan for today:
B: Smoothie
L: last of Mushrooms & Rice
D: Jamie Oliver Carbonara 😋

socks1107 · 03/02/2025 08:19

Morning, I think my holiday has finally shown on the scales this morning. I was a little shocked but it's not too much of an increase.
As a side my belt has had to go up to the last notch and my jeans felt much looser yesterday so into February for the next 4lb!

Today
Porridge
Picky box with crackers, cheese fruit and nuts
Jacket potato and chicken

TheRealHousewife · 03/02/2025 12:03

Copied over from January as dumpling me posted on wrong thread …

Good Morning All

At last … the Sun is shining today! ☀️

@legotherapy Although you won’t have thought it at the time Weatherspoons did you a favour; I agree that foods out and about always seem to have more cals than similar foods prepped at home.

Meal 1 - Mushroom omelette & side salad.
Meal 2 - Halloumi & Butterbean stir fry.
Tea, black coffee & water.

PS Had blood pressure taken this morning and it’s sky high which is unusual for me. Perhaps due to migraine 🤷‍♀️

Hello all. I'm under the weather today but just made a delicious chicken and leak soup with lots of ginger, garlic and chilli. No exercise for me today, my body was telling me I needed a rest.

PatienceOfEngels · 03/02/2025 15:31

I was sure I'd posted since initial check in but apparently not!

This weekend we had sushi takeaway on Friday, homemade chicken leek and mushroom pie on Saturday and pulled pork with mashed potato and carrot, and red cabbage and apple on Sunday.

Long walk on Sunday morning.

Been cooped up inside at work today and out at hobby this evening.

Today:
-boiled egg and toast, coffee
-fruit/veg plate
-leftover chicken and leek pie
-greek yoghurt and honey
-pea soup and bread for dinner.

Going to try and get more steps in this week and spend less time on my phone.
