⭐️ OPEN TO ALL ⭐️

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Revive & Thrive January 2025⭐️

WOW January passed in a heartbeat! Let’s keep the momentum going ladies!

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!
Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 2lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

I'm 13.5st , 5ft3 and just hurting :(
Well i say 13.5 I'll weigh in the morning.

My joints hurt. I do have circulation issues in my legs anyway but the weight most definitely don't help.
10 years ago I was 10st.3 but this was done in a bad way , ED. And whilst it's not ' mega skinny' I looked gaunt. Everyone said I looked ILL all the time.
I met dh. 2 dcs later. A very busy life , I just have let myself go.
I thought about mounjaro but I'm terrified. So I need to just try myself again but the correct way.

My sleep is terrible. I snack constantly. I walk less , because I hurt so much. But walking would help me lose weight/ eventually hurt less. It's a vicious circle!

I only drink pop this don't help with bloating

SO AS FROM TOMORROW

I am going to drink 3 glasses of water a day minimum in place of pop

Make sure I walk even if it's 20 minutes. Tomorrow I will walk to the chemist for dc prescription ( 1 mile round trip) so not loads . I will also walk the opposite direction, again a similar distance to m&s to collect an order.

I will do my best to pop here regularly to chat.
I will weigh myself in the morning.

Starting healthy eating on a Friday, who'd of thought!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 30/01/2025 21:21

Thanks @TheRealHousewife Settling in for February and hopefully some progress. Though I’m off to the rugby on Saturday so that’s going to be a tough one on the calories. But a good walk to and from the stadium, so that’ll close my Apple Watch rings 😂

Puffalicious · 30/01/2025 22:36

Thanls for the new thread. Following on from Jan where I lost my 1st half stone & committed to fast walking 45 mins a day, which I'm really enjoying.

. 2.5 stone to go. A long way. I see lots of folk here at much lower weights & I just feel huge at 13st 9.

What's the plan for Fast 800? I'd be interested. I'm doing 1300 a day, but up for a boost ❤️
.

I have 6kg to lose, but currently sitting here with recent agonising sciatica pain and scoffing chocolates!

rainbow616 · 31/01/2025 06:36

I know it's not February just yet, but I'll post here anyway! Start weight is from 1st Jan.

SW 13st
CW 12st 7.4
GW 11st 7

I'm a little disappointed to have not lost more, but I'm going in the right direction. I'm going to carry on with 9-10k steps a day, yoga and eating well. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

ForestDragon · 31/01/2025 08:04

Moving over from January thread which was super helpful @TheRealHousewife ! Started on 1st January, a bit of messing about getting into a routine etc, but am happy with what I'm doing now.

February goal is to see an 8 at the beginning - and preferably to never see 9 again! Should be easy from where I am but it's the sticking to it and not giving up/ comfort eating that I struggle with. If I can keep stepping down by 0.5kg per week that is fine, more is just a bonus. Second goal is to keep up running 3 times a week, slipped on this this week due to work days changing, and am feeling lethargic... Third goal is to stop weighing everyday!

SW: 94 kg
CW: 90.3 kg
GW: 70 kg

Good luck everyone for February!

Goodafternoonmillie · 31/01/2025 08:18

I coloured in as I went along (DD6 insisted on a rainbow themed colouring 🌈) and very proud of doing a workout/ some form of movement everyday in January. Last year I was so up and down with exercise and not in any kind of routine. intend to keep it up in Feb 🤩

10 st 2.6 lb is my start weight for Feb.

VioletIndigoBlueGreen · 31/01/2025 08:30

Morning all! I do my weekly weigh in on a Friday after my second fast day (I do 5:2), so I'll be out of sync with all of you who weigh on a Wednesday!

So my stats are (I'm 5'7 and mid 40s for context):
SW: 10 stone 9.4 (at the start of January)
CW: 10 stone 5.6
GW: 9 stone 11

So I've lost roughly a lb per week during January which I'm pleased with, but need to keep the momentum going into February. I think this thread will help with accountability, especially when my loss slows or plateaus which it's bound to do at times.

Any other Friday weighing buddies on this thread?

SwizzelsDoubleLollies · 31/01/2025 08:37

Morning. I'm just catching up and there have been some fab results in January.

I need to change quite a few things if I'm going to lose some weight. Drinking more water being one thing so I've come into work and got myself a big glass of water from the water dispenser. I'm perimenopausel and worried about putting more weight on.

I've not had anything to eat yet. I don't really do breakfast.

This is my day 1 again.

SwizzelsDoubleLollies · 31/01/2025 08:40

@VioletIndigoBlueGreen I'm doing 5:2 next week. How many calories do you have on fast days?

VioletIndigoBlueGreen · 31/01/2025 08:43

@SwizzelsDoubleLollies The 5:2 guidance is 500 cals for women and 600 cals for men on a FD. I have all mine in my evening meal as I find it works best for me so I'm not hungry at bedtime, but I think most people have two small meals.

I'm personally not super strict about counting milk in tea throughout the day, but I've been doing 5:2 for 12 years so I need it to be sustainable rather than too gruelling!

Good luck!

PatienceOfEngels · 31/01/2025 09:24

Checking in!

I try to eat 3 meals a day and 1 snack (max 2!) with as many whole foods as possible, no caffeine after midday, no evening snacking, or booze. My nemesis(es?) are cheese, crisps, and any kind of salty crunchy snack (including nuts). For exercise I do walking and some yoga (had a good run of everyday in the summer/autumn but haven't done much since early December).

I just want to feel healthy, relaxed and sleep well. A lower BMI would be a bonus.

SW (Oct 22) 77kg (was up to 79kg Aug 22)
SW (Jan 25) 72.7kg
CW 71.5kg
GW 68kg (healthy BMI, am 165cm)

TheRealHousewife · 31/01/2025 09:38

Good Morning Troupers!

Welcome to our new sparkly February thread @GottaShiftThesePounds @CrawlingFromShitshowToAfterglow @rainbow616 @ForestDragon

It does seem the support you all give to each other really does help! You might not see the numbers move every week but over time, if you remain consistent with your endeavours the weight does shift. It’s all about balance. If you have a celebration coming up or meal out etc just shave a few calories off the day before and day after to give yourself wiggle room and take the guilt away. Life is for living and enjoying food together is a big part of that. And it’s good for the soul ❤️

Menu
Meal 1 - Chicken wrap and salad.
Meal 2 - Spicy turkey balls (😅) & stir fried veg.
Tea, black coffee and water.

Exercise
Session 1 - Yoga stretches.
Session 2 - Hand weights.

Just looked back over my weight for the past year and I weigh the same now as I did last January. Which is fine, it’s a normal BMI.
What isn’t fine is that in 2024 I gained 10lbs, then lost 20lbs, then regained 10lbs.
Plan for 2025 (and forever) is not to repeat the yo-yo dieting of 2024.

NessaSmith · 31/01/2025 16:39

Just to say to the pp who worried they're bigger than everyone else on this thread, don't!

I started at 22 stone (19.something now). Still come on these threads. We're all in the same boat really, trying to break our habits and make better choices for ourselves.

Goodafternoonmillie · 01/02/2025 07:25

Happy February Everyone 😃

I have done a 1 hour walking workout this morning as up at stupid o clock with the children. It took me longer as constant pauses but easy enough to start and stop. And I have already hit my 10k steps now 😃

plan for today:
B: Smoothie
L: Tomato Soup with Sourdough
D: I’m making a recipe called ‘Persian Mushrooms’ and it has pomegranate and walnuts in and will serve with rice 😋
I bloody love Mushrooms!!

have a good day!!

socks1107 · 01/02/2025 09:38

Happy February!

I'm back from my holiday, we walked loads (25kper day) but I drank loads!

There were scales in the hotel bathroom so I've a rough idea of the damage but will check on my own later when I get up.

Ready to tackle the next half stone taking me into the next bracket

TheRealHousewife · 01/02/2025 09:43

Good Morning & Happy February ❤️

01/02/25 - 9st 2lbs. I lost a total of 3lbs in January. Aim for February is to get back under 9stone (I'm a smidge under 5ft)

@Goodafternoonmillie Well done on getting your workout in already👌 👏

@NessaSmith Well said! Congratulations on your weight loss! 👏👍

@Fellsbells Well observed. Your year is similar to mine. Ive always said maintaining is as hard if not harder than losing the weight to start with. A shift in mindset is needed; we can't ever revert to a 'free for all' way of eating, throwing total abandon to the wind. That said it is about balance and still enjoying life! It's a tough line to tread; but with ongoing support very achievable ❤️

Menu
Meal 1 - Poached haddock fillet, peas & carrots. Tartar sauce.
Meal 2 - Halloumi stir fry with butter beans.
Tea, black coffee & water.

I don't know if this link will work - it looks funny on my screen! But it's a link to a recent Zoe / Tim Spector podcast, which is about 7 ways to eat for health in 2025. I listened to it yesterday and then made my DH listen to it too. Interesting stuff. I'm feeling very motivated to up my vegetable intake!

However we have a busy day of visiting family and lunch will be ham sandwiches in the car I think. Not on Tim Spector's list of healthy foods 😂

TheRealHousewife · 01/02/2025 10:38

Thank you @LemonDrizzle23 ill give that a listen 👍👌

Welcome back @socks1107 . That’s an awesome step count to say you were on holiday 👍👏

Welcome to Februarys thread @HappyLittleTreeFriend @Ethiopianflower @TerroristToddler @IDareSay 👍

I cleaned and closed the kitchen at 18:45 and I find once that’s done I’m done with food. I’m not a snacker generally so unless I’ve missed a meal throughout the day I’m ok waiting until the next day. I find if I eat enough protein/fibre/healthy fats I’m satiated enough until next meal time.

Off to shower/bed for an early night 😴

The problem I have is that the kitchen is our main living area so I’m surrounded by food!

happytobemrsg · 01/02/2025 10:47

AF is on its way & I have a head cold. I’m very grumpy! Yesterday I ate ice cream which is so unlike me. Back on it today.

SwizzelsDoubleLollies · 01/02/2025 11:15

Morning everyone 😊

I've just had a protein thin bagel and cheese toasted. We are meeting friends today for food and drinks but I'm going to choose wisely. We will be walking a bit so will get DH to take note on his watch as I've not put mine on.

AnonymousMum37 · 01/02/2025 11:32

I had a cheat evening yesterday, food was pretty healthy but had lots of wine with a friend. I needed carbs to soak it up and function this morning! So a cheat 24 hours I think 😆

But I still filled in my calories on my fitness pal and I am still on track over the week. So that makes me feel better. Everyone needs a treat sometimes!

IDareSay · 01/02/2025 12:16

I did much the same yesterday @AnonymousMum37
We do all need to have not only planned treats, but also unplanned ones that we then record; over time it all balances out I think.

Just about to get the bacon sarnies on here!
