⭐️ OPEN TO ALL ⭐️

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Revive & Thrive January 2025⭐️

WOW January passed in a heartbeat! Let’s keep the momentum going ladies!

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!
Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 2lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Proud of myself this evening, DH and the DC ordered pizza for dinner I resisted and had scrambled eggs and turkey bacon! (and a cookie for dessert as I had calories left over and it’s Friday so why not?!)

socks1107 · 21/02/2025 23:09

LBB2020 well done on your well power! Enjoy your cookie.

I tried on the next size down of jeans tonight and they fit, with ease. I'm so happy!

LBB2020 · 21/02/2025 23:20

Amazing! Well done!

TheRealHousewife · 22/02/2025 07:11

Good Morning Everyone

Food wise I had an excellent day yesterday and I’m hoping to repeat the same this weekend. (Just writing that down has reinforced my resolve) When my other half is around he’s forever offering me a bit of whatever snack or alcohol he’s having. He knows I’m on a bit of a boot camp but he still offers. I think he does it to be polite rather than to derail. I’m not really a drinker and usually only do it to be sociable. I’m that boring person who can happily go into a pub and ask for a pot of tea or a black coffee 😁

Menu
Meal 1 - Chia seed yoghurt. Tea, black coffee.
Meal 2 - Red onion & feta tart. Side salad. Water.
Meal 3 - Seared prawns, quinoa, red & yellow peppers & lambs lettuce.
Tea, black coffee & water.

Whatever you’re doing this weekend, enjoy!

Morning all. Going down a size is such a good feeling @socks1107

i’m still under the weather and lacking energy, so not back on track yet, but my intention to do so is still there! I am at least maintaining just now which is good. Hoping that I might feel up to a bit of exercise over the weekend…

LBB2020 · 22/02/2025 08:03

I’m having a day off today as DH and I are having a rare childfree day out (my lovely MIL is coming to look after the kids). I’m going to be mindful of what I’m eating but going to enjoy myself as we don’t get much time just the two of us (eldest DC has SEN so it can be difficult to leave him).
Happy weekend all 😀

Jaderz · 22/02/2025 08:25

Morning all, my virus is spreading itself to my other mucus membranes, yay. I am working today again so I feel so tired. My DP is pissed off I am not resting.

I was fairly ok, ate well. No weight loss. I am going to give myself less pressure though. I am very close to goal so I should still be proud how far I have come

FairyBloodyMary · 22/02/2025 11:49

Morning all. I'm back off holiday and although I hadn't weighed myself for quite some time the damage isn't as bad as I feared.
There were huge mirrors in the swimming pool toilets. Massive ones that highlighted the fact that my bum needs some work. Losing over 2 stone has caused some deflated dough skin on my bum where it becomes thigh. I'm planning on doing the 100 squats a day challenge but need to read up on this more. We go on holiday in the summer and I'd like to be less wobbly for the beach and in general. My thighs are still huge and wobbly. My plan for the next few days is to increase my fruit and veg intake and get more sleep. I still exceeded my step target on holiday and I'm pleased about that.

I've only skim read lately but congratulations on the nursing award and get well soon to those with excess mucous!

Jaderz · 22/02/2025 12:21

@FairyBloodyMary I would look into various exercises for glutes - squats alone gave me big solid thighs but not glutes. There are other better glutes specific exercises, squats are really tricky as although you stretch the glute on the bend, it isn’t always taking the full brunt of your weight (very dependent on foot positioning ie sumo) as your quads can end up doing most of the work. I think squat challenges can be misleading.

TheRealHousewife · 22/02/2025 12:27

@Jaderz You are so right about squats! I did about 5 and ended up with knee pain for days! I thought I was doing them right too!

OP posts:
Jaderz · 22/02/2025 12:38

Yeah I don’t love squats, I do them but not extreme amount, and I do lunges assisted if I am not confident in my knee! RDL’s, donkey kicks, bridges, there are loads of glute specific exercises that won’t break your body!

whatever you feel the ache is where the work is happening. If it doesn’t give you an aching bum it’s doing nothing to your glutes imo

socks1107 · 22/02/2025 16:07

Morning everyone, I hit the stone lost mark today! I cannot believe it.
Tried on some size 14 jeans and they fit lovely so that's my stone lost gift - new jeans and into loosing the next stone.

Re squats - I do them when tea is cooking 😂

@socks1107 Congratulations on your stone lost! Excellent! 👌 I love the idea of squats whilst cooking 😁

I've repeated myself sorry! I posted about my jeans twice in excitement

AnonymousMum37 · 22/02/2025 17:33

I'm having an off day today as had lunch out with a friend and DH has bought a bottle of wine for this evening, but even then I find I'm more sensible than I would have been before starting this, so I'm probably only at maintenance calories/100 over. I also went for a run this morning and yesterday, and have been consistently getting 10,000 steps or more over half term.

Kids are back to school on Monday and I'm back to work and I find it easier to stick to my calories in that routine. I'm quite looking forward to it!

FairyBloodyMary · 22/02/2025 19:06

I take your points about the squats. When I first started the Caroline Girvan I struggled to sit down with the muscle pain in my ass so I'll be making a renewed effort with her app along with my diet. I don't mean a diet as in deprivation, I mean what I eat. I need to up the veg and protein. I've got tofu in the fridge that I've been meaning to cook. My stomach has been very, very bloated these last couple of weeks and it's too much salt and eating too late.

Fellsbells · 23/02/2025 10:29

Well done everyone.

Feeling very puffy today after a carb heavy few days.
I need an overhaul before Friday so planning on lots of water, exercise and vegetables.

LBB2020 · 23/02/2025 13:05

Had a really lovely day out with DH yesterday, definitely went well over calories (I had a couple of glasses of wine too) but it was worth it! Trying to get back on the straight and narrow today! Looking forward to the children going back to school/preschool tomorrow so we can get back into routine after the chaos of half term! Hope you are all having a good weekend

Fellsbells · 23/02/2025 20:32

Excellent day, lots of water, two good meals and zero snacking, or sugar (Just got to do that for the rest of my life now).

FairyBloodyMary · 23/02/2025 20:51

I made a veggie shepherds pie for dinner with Linda McCartney mince which is not something I would want to eat but the children like. I put peas in it to make it something I'd like because I'm fed up of the restrictions to what I eat based on their restrictions. I can't do 3 separate meals a day. I'm too tired. They ate it so I'll be doing peas again. I did it with honey and chilli roasted carrots which didn't really go but was nice all the same. I'm determined to get more veg in us. I've had banana, strawberries, potato, carrots and peas today and that's an improvement on our holiday we that consisted of pizza most days although I had mushrooms and peppers on mine.

I'm wondering if I should be a good catholic and do something for Lent this year. I might use it to improve my routine as well as my diet. Does anyone else honour Lent?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 23/02/2025 21:26

I didn’t get back to calorie counting today, but I did finally do some exercise. A Les mills shapes class that had my butt burning. I didn’t love it, it was harder than it used to be, but it’s a start. I think my lurgy is mostly finally gone!

TheRealHousewife · 24/02/2025 08:38

Good morning Everyone!

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo What one food/drink do you have that you know that will lead to more of the same? I'd eliminate that. Some of us need abstinence if they are unable to moderate their intake 👍

@FairyBloodyMary Sorry to hear getting the veg into the kids is tough! I'm sure you e tried everything but have you made veg into a sauce that you could have with a cheesy pasta. Apologies I can't remember what they can't have.

@Fellsbells sounds positive 👍

@LBB2020 We all need to go with the flow at times; good for the soul and sharing food is bond building. I agree with you; it's worth it ❤️

@AnonymousMum37 Impressive step count! Well done 👏

@socks1107 Post away, you've every reason to be excited & proud! 😊

Menu
Meal 1 - Chia yoghurt.
Meal 2 - Mushroom Omelette
Meal 3 - Chicken Curry & buttered cabbage.
Tea, black coffee & water.

Last week of the month 😮 Final push to get the numbers down by month end👍 You can do it! 👌

Morning all. The scales treated me with a higher number today but I've eaten better since Friday so I'm not sure what's going on apart from water retention. I can always feel it in my thighs.

The children love macaroni cheese. I'd add peas and sweetcorn but they aren't happy with that. I'm stating to think tough, you can eat what you're given as long as it's not something you absolutely hate. I'd never give them something they hate but if it's something that isn't on their preferred list then tough. They will eat veg in soup or a roast dinner. I have put whizzed up red peppers in homemade pasta/pizza sauce and got away with it. It's things like broccoli and cauliflower that are hard going but I don't really like them either. Ds will eat broccoli in soup if it's blended. Broccoli and cheddar soup is his favourite. Dd loves cauliflower but I'll only eat it if there's a sauce involved. They don't like mushrooms but that's ok. Carrots and sweetcorn are the only ones we all like consistently.

LBB2020 · 24/02/2025 09:51

Well I didn’t quite get back on track yesterday!
Back to routine today though so easier to stay on plan……hopefully!

StealthyBMI · 24/02/2025 13:36

Happy Monday everyone. I've had a bit of a bad weekend too with lots of naughty food and drink... back on it this week! I went out dancing Saturday night and danced so much that I surely MUST have burnt off my vodka-sodas.... I'm staying off the scales a few days though because there's only one way they will have gone - I'm going to hold out for Wednesday and hope to at least see nothing gained. Fingers crossed.
