Another 45 min workout at the Gym.

This felt good.

Only 8000 steps

1400 calories

Need to get a better handle on my eating .......

1400 sounds good! What you aiming for?

nodtik · 18/01/2025 07:24

@HorrorFan81

1200 ideally!!!

nodtik · 18/01/2025 08:25

Started the day with a 30 min walk on the walking pad, at a speed of 4.5 km per hour.

Long drive this morning to see my son, so thought I would get my steps in first!

NewMe16012025 · 18/01/2025 09:32

Morning,

I'm going on a walk this morning with DH and our two dogs. So will log my steps.

I need to start exercising. I started eating healthy on the 16th and only been walking to work both days which is only 20 minutes. I get a lift home.

I'm logging my water intake too which I need to be better at.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Great stuff! I'm desperate to recover properly from flu so I can start walking again

I did the fast 800 too and lost nearly 1 stone in 3 weeks but it hasn't been so effective subsequent times I've done it. I like it because the hunger goes when you are in ketosis but like @HorrorFan81 said you have to measure everything carefully. I also got very tired on it and found drinking lots of water helped with that.
I did 2 meals a day because I find it easier not to eat in the morning and then have lunch and dinner and no snacks. I didn't use the recipe book I just had some sort of low fat protein with lots of low carb veggies for dinner and a cloud bread sandwich and low carb salad for lunch (I could eat this at work)

Yes I am the same with the recipes - never used any of them. For dinner I have a good portion of protein (chicken, steak, salmon etc) and a load of low carb veg

Hi, Can I please join? Desperately need to lose weight, both for health reasons and well…to look and feel much better! I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been after having my children and it’s having a big impact on my confidence. Weighing in at 80kg, only 5’2. Dress size 14-16. I’ve joined a slimming group which I hope will motivate me but could do with an online group to give me a much needed kick up the a**se!!

RestingLettice · 18/01/2025 12:09

I'm gardening today so hopefully that'll be my workout. Loads to cut back before Springtime.

Been sticking to my diet this week and reached 10,000+ steps most days this week. Not feeling too hungry but am feeling a little tired so decided gardening will probably be enough today.

Welcome! We're all following our own ways of losing but lots of support here. It's great when you see those scales start to drop!

Gardening is a good work out!

NewMe16012025 · 18/01/2025 15:15

I've done a 3 hour walk, 21,000 steps.

But.

We are walking to the pub later for a friends Birthday party where I will be having a few glasses of wine. There is also a buffet which I'll try and not be too greedy.

Fibrous · 18/01/2025 17:04

parkrun this morning. Haven’t done one for a while so it was good to get back on the horse. Have taken the dogs out for a walk, and will prob do twenty minutes of yoga a bit later.

had date and tahini porridge for breakfast which was tasty. Leek and potato soup for lunch, and having garlic mushrooms, green lentils and a fried egg for tea. Had a couple of satsumas as snacks. I’m using Zoe to score my meals and today isn’t optimal as it’s quite high on the carbs, but still pretty good.

been having a good clean today too so been on my feet all day, 17k steps.

nodtik · 18/01/2025 17:10

I'm Monday too.

HorrorFan81 · 18/01/2025 18:57

My official weigh in is Friday but I tend to weigh daily as I find the fluctuations really interesting. Got my period today so expecting at least a few lbs of water weight

HorrorFan81 · 18/01/2025 19:02

I'm still complete unactive due to ill health but had a good food day at least

Usual breakfast and lunch (chia, berries, Greek yoghurt; Fast 800 shake)

Had a boiled egg for a snack and one strawberry after dinner for a bit of sweetness

Dinner was baked salmon, a load of roasted veg (sprouts, peppers, onions, carrots and parsnips) and steamed broccoli

Finishing on 978 (Fast 800 Keto allows up to 1000 so just about ok)

Theemperorsnewshoes · 18/01/2025 19:55

@HorrorFan81 and @LizzieandFreddie thank you both! Really helpful!

I’m managing the 800 fine (although it’s only been a few days) but will look at the keto version.

@nodtik I weigh daily but do a ‘proper’ check in on Thursdays with my PT. Thursday is the one that gets recorded!

2025holidayplanner · 18/01/2025 22:36

You’ve all been busy!

Offical Friday weigh in here too but I do weigh daily.

I’ve eaten 90% of a medium dominos pizza tonight followed by a slice of chocolate cake which isn’t great but that is all I’ve had today and I would rather still have my Saturday takeaways even if it takes me a bit longer.

Dashel · 19/01/2025 08:00

Morning

Can I join in a little late please?

My DH has surgery booked on the 20th and the doctor suggested that he should loose a few pounds if possible. So my challenge will probably finish on the 19th so I can comfort eat through the op.

Im 5ft 3 44 and on the 14th of Jan I weighed in 11st 0. I’m a daily weigher with a Fitbit scale and try and just use the weekly average but the ups and downs can be great or frustrating.

I have a bad back which is prone to injuries so whilst it makes exercise hard, it’s also a great excuse to be lazy. I will be aiming for 15k steps with my dog or Get Fit with Rick on YouTube (I’m debating whether to get the paid for membership)I also need to get back into my weights.

We have also said we are cutting right back on UPFs and giving up alcohol until he has recovered enough for a drink. He might have to have a second surgery as well but fingers crossed not.

My dream weight would probably be 8.5st but I haven’t managed to get below 9.11 for a while. But if I was under 10st 7lbs but February I would be happy.

I have already made a start and feeling virtuous that we went to a friends last night had chilli and rice and only a small piece of pudding and no alcohol or after dinner chocolate or crisps that we usually do.

Just tired from a later night than usual which is not a good start to the day. Happy to weigh in officially on a Friday as Friday evening is when we tend to have a treat dinner with a few extras

chalkyc2 · 19/01/2025 08:32

First week determination has me around 3kg down. The first week of eating like this always gives me a big (maybe not real?) number and then slows. Just happy to have got my head in the place that I'm not snacking and picking at crisps etc.

Vaguely I have a smoothie for breakfast, something like soup or last night leftovers for lunch and protein and veg dinner. No potato/rice/pasta or any snacks. I don't restrict tea and coffee - they keep me going. No booze! Try for 2+ litres water.

Need to keep going. Peloton session planned once the kids head out to their sport this morning.

Fibrous · 19/01/2025 08:59

It’s one of my dogs birthdays today, he’s 8, and we lost our last dog to cancer when she was that age so we’re going to have steak and salad for dinner so he can have some, and go for a hike in the hills. My partner is veggie so I don’t cook meat that often.

I think I’ll weigh myself on Mondays in the gym as there’s a 3D body scanner that takes all your measurements, gives you a body score, and estimates your body fat percentage. So usually even if the scales aren’t moving, there’s something good to focus on like some cms off the gut.

nodtik · 19/01/2025 12:02

@chalkyc2 wow 3kgs is awesome!

8km walk completed this morning, so steps done and exercise ring closed.

Calories so far today are 675 ......

Will try to keep to 1200 ish xxx

Great loss! Well done

HorrorFan81 · 19/01/2025 12:24

Did my daily weigh in this morning and as suspected period bloat has caused a gain (0.8lb) but I'll ignore that.

Woke up late today (with horrific cramps) so having 2 meals today. Larger than normal breakfast/lunch combo (chia, berries, Greek Yoghurt) and a roast chicken dinner (just having the chicken with loads of veg and a bit of gravy)

Should be finishing on around 900

Still can't exercise so enjoying a movie day with the family

chalkyc2 · 19/01/2025 12:25

Thanks - I will caution that this is certainly not the ideal approach for measured weight loss, however I'm facing up to my lack of ability to maintain and a self enforced deadline of an impending trip - means I have to go pretty hard. I do not recommend if not completely necessary!!!

We do what we have to, and it's nice to do it with others on this thread!!
