Well done everyone.

I've just done 2 minute kettles with Joe Wicks. He was using a much heavier kettle than me though. I've not exercised in ages but enjoyed it.

Having chicken, sweet potato and vegetables. I might have a couple of Aunt Bessie Yorkshires. Sorry for admitting such a thing on Mumsnet.

Not really calorie counting this weekend but will do in the week.

I weighed on Thursday for my first weigh in so will do that again this week.

NewMe16012025 · 19/01/2025 12:42

I meant 20 minutes 😂

Haha, yes 2 minutes probably wouldn't do much 😅

If only it was that easy 😕

Wouldn't that be nice 😅

HorrorFan81 · 19/01/2025 18:25

My period is kicking my ass and I needed something sweet so I just had a treat of a medjool date, almond butter and a square of dark chocolate. Takes me up to 1100 for the day and slightly over my carb allowance but can live with that

nodtik · 19/01/2025 20:52

Finishing the week, before weigh in tomorrow on;

1427 calories

And

20,242 steps

Let's hope there is some movement in the right direction on the scales tomorrow! Xx

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 20/01/2025 05:41

I'm really proud to have managed six full days in deficit- I'd been 'starting' every day in January up to that point. 🙌🏻

nodtik · 20/01/2025 05:52

First weigh in;

Lost 2lbs

SW: 12st 0lbs
CW: 11st 12lbs

A little disappointed, was hoping for a littlr more, but if I can repeat the same loss next week, that would be 4lbs in total and I would be happy with that!

Slow and steady sometimes wins the race, as they say! Xx

nodtik · 20/01/2025 05:54

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa

6 days in deficit is awesome 🙌

Keep it up!

Theemperorsnewshoes · 20/01/2025 07:35

Start: 130.5
Now: 127.4

I’m happy with that consistency the scales weren’t budging for ages!

Snoozed the alarm today so hopefully I’ll fit in a work out after work instead but I’m more motivated after weighing!

socks1107 · 20/01/2025 08:18

I'm back up 1.5lb today. I've been in a deficit of 1500 calories for three weeks.
I go on holiday next week and had set myself a target of 6lb or I was ordering injectables on my return.
Looks like that's what's going to happen sadly. It's very disappointing tbh

Gert12 · 20/01/2025 09:12

I'm down 2 lb. Happy with that. Have drastically reduced portion sizes and moved more this week.

Fibrous · 20/01/2025 09:28

I’m down another 2lb. So that’s 11lb total since mid December. 22lb to go. My period is due today or tomorrow but I don’t seem to be holding onto the usual water weight. Maybe a very high fibre diet is going to be the new normal for me, I’m not finding it hard to stick to but does take more meal planning than usual.

DuckWithOneWing · 20/01/2025 09:29

I'm down to 73.1 kg, which is a loss of just less than 1kg but I'm happy with that as the scales just aren't moving at the moment.

I've already started my day with morning Pilates. I have noticed that over the last few weeks I'm getting so much better and able to do more things. My previous session I did Teaser with both feet in the air, and it wasn't a fluke as I managed it today too! Later on I'm going to the gym.

Ethiopianflower · 20/01/2025 09:51

Well done everyone. We just have to keep going. I’m down 2lbs this week. Bring the dogs for an hour walk every day whatever the weather and drink a lot of tea for my water intake. I’m not good at drinking water. Really curbs my appetite. 10lbs down so far. Another 18lbs to go.

RestingLettice · 20/01/2025 10:15

Well done everyone! I weighed in this morning and

SW: 12st 1lbs
CW: 11st 9lbs

Which is a big loss in a week which is great, but I do feel much of it is probably down to losing water/bloating caused by general inflammation as I've had this before in the first week of a diet. I have hypermobile EDS and whenever I eat sugar/over processed foods (as I have been a lot recently) it causes pretty severe inflammation/bloating. As soon as I avoid them, the inflammation eases.

I do feel a lot less bloated this week, and I know I should stick to a much stricter diet normally, it's just so hard sometimes.

So going forwards, I'm not expecting that result again and think it'll get much more difficult, as that's what's happened previously.

Anyway going to go for a long walk today to get my step in (10,000+ per day) as well as sticking to my 1200 calories. I'm not feeling too hungry on it so far, so hoping to carry on with both of these things this week.🤞

Littlemissweepy · 20/01/2025 10:37

Some great results here.🎉

I weighed in this morning at 10st 6.4lbs, down 2.2lbs from last Monday. Exercised 6 days out of 7 and tracked my calories on MFP. Not had any booze. Barely any deficit - on average 60 cals a day, been eating 1900 cals on average. But I am mindfully eating and keeping crap to a minimum. Like some others I think this weeks loss might be down to water retention etc.

This week going to try harder to eat less and making marginal gains.

Littlemissweepy · 20/01/2025 10:39

Today I have run 7km and had porridge, with a tablespoon of flaxseed, chocolate protein powder and light soya milk for breakfast - and 2 cups of tea. And about 1L of water.

Here’s to a positive week for all.

bigdecisionstomake · 20/01/2025 10:45

Well done to everyone with losses - there's some great progress here - amazing!

Life came at me badly last week and I fell off the wagon completely. So I'm back starting again at 10st 7.7lb today. No loss but not a disastrous gain either.

I've started some cardio this morning and will add some weights in again once I'm back in a routine.

Waves at @Dashel sorry to hear about your DH's op - sending all good wishes and a mumsnet handhold 🙂

nodtik · 20/01/2025 12:39

Wow some great losses!

Keep it up lovely peeps ......

Gym for me tonight for 45 mins. Xxx

HorrorFan81 · 20/01/2025 13:14

Well done everyone! I'm still recovering from flu but managed my first walk since Boxing Day. Just a slow 20 minutes but hopefully I'm on the road to recovery and I can get back to more activity soon.

Doing good food wise, usual breakfast and lunch (chia, berries, yoghurt; Fast 800 shake). Dinner likely to be a chicken thigh with some broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage

Weighed this morning and I've dropped the 0.8lb period bloat from yesterday so back down at 153. My official weigh in day is Friday and hoping to have another 2-3lb loss by then. Will probably gain it all in water weight by the following Monday as it's my birthday weekend and got several meals out planned and will probably have at least a few cocktails 🍸 but going to enjoy myself and get back on plan by Monday

Littlemissweepy · 20/01/2025 14:37

Calorie counting is such an eye opener. As part of my lunch (I always seem to need something sweet to feel satisfied with lunch) I had a pot of Greek yogurt with homemade apple puree, granola and a squeeze of runny honey. I weighed everything and it was 340 calories, and that’s on top of the wrap I had which was nearly 400.

I know it will keep me fuller for longer and so much better for me than 3 bars of chocolate but seems like a lot for what didn’t feel like a big or over indulgent meal.

NewMe16012025 · 20/01/2025 14:58

I've logged onto MyFitnessPal and tracked my planned food for today. Calories is totalling 947.

I had tuna and spring onion with 50g pasta and a bit of light mayo for lunch.

For dinner I'm having Creamy Fajita Style Chicken from HelloFresh. It comes with pasta but I'm not cooking that and replacing it with salad.

I am trying to get plenty of protein and it's tracked 75g.

I have done 60 minutes walking today and I think that will be all the excercise today as my legs are stiff from the squats I did yesterday.

Yes it is such an eye opener when you start calorie counting, I've been shocked too. Things that seem healthy are half your daily intake etc. That's why I find Fitness Pal so useful, you can type in choices and I often change my mind if something is too high and I can have more of something else. Sometimes I have a couple of dried apricots as a little sweet nibble with tea/coffee. Also two stick KitKats are low calorie for a needed sugar hit/treat as they're only 103 calories I think.
