That looks great!

orangegato · 16/01/2025 08:19

Few days late but I really need this.

My healthy weight range is 6 stone 11 to 9 stone, and I’m 8 stone 13 and look awful. Tried on some old work clothes for a funeral recently and wouldn’t zip up.

I’m going with calorie counting as it’s all that has worked for me before but my calorie goal is a miserable 1,200 (short girl problems). Throwing in more exercise just so I can eat a normal sized meal once in a while. Wish me luck!

Theemperorsnewshoes · 16/01/2025 08:37

Please may I join?

I weigh more than I ever have.
I am short.

Start: 130.5
Goal: 112

I need to go back to working out and getting my steps in.

nodtik · 15/01/2025 21:07

That looks excellent. I use a stepping block at home on days I can't get out but that looks excellent and much better. Let us know how it goes, I might be tempted to get one too.

Littlemissweepy · 16/01/2025 09:41

Can I join too?

New Years Day weighed in at 10st 8.8 lbs. Target 9st 10lbs. I have been exercising 6 days of 7 and as of Monday began calorie counting and logging on MFP.

Since logging have managed a deficit but sometimes a tiny one - 25cal! Usually 200-300. I find eating less really hard. Can’t imagine behind able to sustain on 1500 let alone 1200, 800, 500 etc which is why I don’t think fasting would work for me. I’m more of a 1900 girl!! Which is why this is hard.

Littlemissweepy · 16/01/2025 10:02

Should have said am down to 10st 6lbs this morning (am also a daily weigher for my sins) so making some slow progress.

So it's weird, I really struggle eating 1200 or 1400 but when I'm doing the Fast 800 Keto I find it much easier. I'm guessing because I'm in ketosis? If I plan my day out and know what I'm eating when, and hit my protein goals I can recognise that I'm hungry but find it fairly easy to stick to 800-900 each day. I do find days 2-3 pretty bad but beyond that it's like a switch has been flipped and my body adapts

RestingLettice · 16/01/2025 10:12

It's hard eating so little! My weigh in day will be Monday. Got a feeling it's going to be more of a slog to shift the weight this time. Keeping motivated is the key I guess.

DuckWithOneWing · 16/01/2025 10:32

@LizzieandFreddie it's taken about 3 years in total, although I haven't kept motivated all that time - I had most of 2023 off and gained a lot back! Seeing the changes and the things I can do now that I couldn't do at all before has been really motivating though.

I went to the gym before work this morning. I did a 15 minute abs class, and then went on the elliptical. I also tried one of the scary machines for the first time and can now do hanging leg raises!

RestingLettice · 16/01/2025 10:48

I was at my ideal weight up until 18 months ago, but gained it all after a partial thyroidectomy last April and sitting around recovering from the operation which has taken a while. I had a very large substernal growth but luckily my remaining half a thyroid seems to be coping ok without medication. Can't believe how quickly it all went on, sadly I don't think it'll be as quick coming off! Definitely feel the extra weight on me 😕

RestingLettice · 16/01/2025 11:26

Plus I did comfort eat a bit while I was feeling sorry for myself!! 😂

Scarecrow2016 · 16/01/2025 11:34

Hello, Please can I join you? I'm feeling pretty disillusioned so far. Started Calorie Counting on 3 January with a starting weight of 10.5.
I'm 54 and 5ft 3in. I've been eating up to 1350 calories a day (TDEE is 1650) but have only reduced my weight to 10.2 - which is what my weight fluctuates to without calorie counting - hence the disappointment.

I'm eating significantly less than usual, and weighing my food, not snacking at all. So I was hoping to have lost more by now. I did a bit of research this morning and I think I need to reduce my calorie intake further to 1168. So here goes.

NewMe16012025 · 16/01/2025 11:54

Hi everyone,

NewMe16012025 · 16/01/2025 11:54

Hi, I want to get down to 9.3. This was pre pandemic weight. What's your goal?

I was going to say 9.4 which I haven't been for a few years now.

I actually think 3lb in 2 weeks is great - 2lb a week is considered the fastest you'd want to lose really and 1lb is about right for a general calorie deficit so I'd maybe give it a couple more weeks in your current deficit and see how it goes but obviously your call if you'd rather drop it further

@Scarecrow2016
I've always worked on the basis that 3500 calories is a pound of fat so that needs to be your deficit on a weekly basis for a pound loss per week?

Though a 3lb weigh loss already is great!

nodtik · 16/01/2025 19:47

@HorrorFan81 @RestingLettice

Have completed 45 mins on walking pad, all good so far. Watched TV was good!!

Finished the day on

Great stuff! Well done

I had a good day

Same breakfast and lunch as always (chia/berries/yoghurt and a Fast 800 shake)
Dinner was a massive portion of stir fried veg with chicken in a homemade gochujang sauce
Also had a hard boiled egg as I felt quite woozy today and felt the need for more protein

Finishing on 928

Steps: minimal (still fighting post flu fatigue and sinusitis so trying to rest as much as possible)

I'm doing my first week's weigh in tomorrow as I started the Fast 800 last Saturday

RestingLettice · 16/01/2025 20:44

Well done all!

I actually managed just under 16,000 steps today, but I was up in London and walked from location to location, rather than getting on the germ infested tube. I get a bit claustrophobic on the tube these days too.

Breakfast - 2 x weetabix protein
Lunch - flatbread, hummus, banana & pear
Dinner - Greek salad & round Finn crisps (staying off the bread as that really bloats me)

Don't feel too hungry tonight but if I don't lose weight on my Monday weigh in after all that, I'll be a tad bit disappointed.

2025holidayplanner · 16/01/2025 21:15

Joining! I’m on another thread but need all the weight loss buddies I can get.

Lost some weight last year but gained half a stone so would like to get that off and more. Currently 10 stone 11.4 and would LOVE to see a 9 on the scales before summer.

I’m 33 and I need to get to and stick to a weight I’m happy with before get much older because I know it just gets harder and harder.

Good luck everyone!!

DuckWithOneWing · 16/01/2025 21:17

I'm ending the day on just over 13,000 steps which I'm pleased with, and I ended up under my calorie limit. Also managed to meet my protein and carb goals so it was a pretty successful day.

At Pilates this evening I managed to do a move I've not managed before, so I'm really pleased with that. And this morning I went to a 15 minute abs class before work.

Fibrous · 16/01/2025 21:32

Hello, I’d like to join please? I’m following a high fibre diet - aiming for at least 25g/day. I’ve been referred for haemorrhoid surgery so I can’t eat anything that will upset my bum hole, so nothing greasy, sugary or spicy. I’ve already lost 9 lbs in a month since I had my ‘haemorrhoid event’. Not counting calories as a fibre diet is pretty filling so it’s difficult to each too much anyway.

starting weight was 67kg.
current weight 62kg
goal weight 52kg.

Im 5’1 and another perimenopausal hypothyroid middle aged woman. The joys.
