How tall are you if you don't mind me asking?

Ethiopianflower · 16/01/2025 23:16

Would love to join you too. I have let things slide the past couple of years. Have about 2 stone to lose. Walk for an hour each day and trying to stick to about 1200 calories. I don’t drink alcohol as it gives me shocking migraines so that helps.
SW: 12st
CW: 11.6st
GW: 10st
Best of luck 🍀 everyone - we have this!!!!

I'm 5ft 1, with slim legs but annoying tummy weight for as long as I can remember!

My personal weigh in day is Friday

SW 158
CW 153.2
GW 138

Lost nearly 5lbs this week! Doing Fast 800 Keto and most will be water weight but chuffed with that. Also I am back in 10st bracket, and in a 'healthy' BMI

We've got this!

I'm 5ft 3 and 10.10 with the slim legs and weight around the middle. So similar as a size 12 but would prefer to be a 10.

We can do this.

Well done! That's great. So nice when you get on the scales and are not disappointed. Hoping for a similar result on Monday when I weigh in.

2025holidayplanner · 17/01/2025 09:18

Wow a couple of fantastic losses there!

I weigh daily but class a Friday as my official weigh in (pretty much because a Monday is always worse after the weekend!)

Just over a pound off for me since last Friday.

I just love the feeling of doing this. I’m so used to the constant voice in my head saying ‘you need to lose weight’ which gets me down so much but when you’re actively doing it, even slowly, it feels amazing and that voice is gone.

Theemperorsnewshoes · 17/01/2025 09:33

I decided I need a short, sharp, shock to start me off so will do 2 weeks of fast 800 to start.

I’ve ordered a walking pad as I’m struggling to get outside.

Fibrous · 17/01/2025 10:15

Someone on mumsnet introduced me to an app called 'Happy scale' which calculates the rate you're losing and predicts your losses etc, and evens out all your measurements, so if you fluctuate up and down it still calculates the trends, so you can see you're still on track. I weigh whenever I remember and just plug it in. As long as the overall trend is downwards I'm happy.

Theemperorsnewshoes · 17/01/2025 10:47

I love happy scale.

Just gone to download it but it's only on Apple 😪

I'm just having 2 scarmbled egg on wholemeal toast (small medium sliced bread) for the third time this week. I could eat it every day. A banana & a pear too.

Not sure what else today.

HorrorFan81 · 17/01/2025 14:06

Meal plan for the day:

Usual breakfast and lunch (chia, berries, yoghurt; Fast 800 shake)
Hard boiled egg for snack
Dinner: rump steak with cabbage and broccoli
Tea with soy milk
Lots of water, nettle tea

Total calories: 901

It's my birthday next weekend and plan on coming slightly off plan for a couple days so want another week of strict Fast 800 Keto to maximise loss before then

Theemperorsnewshoes · 17/01/2025 16:42

@HorrorFan81 can I pick your brain about fast800? How long have you been on it and what do you like/dislike about it?

@HorrorFan81 can I pick your brain about fast800? How long have you been on it and what do you like/dislike about it?

Of course!

I actually did it for 12 weeks (which is the max you're meant to do it for although some people come off for a bit then go back on) last Jan - March and lost 24lbs. I probably would have lost more but I came off it roughly once a month for various events - didn't go crazy but had a few days at a time of eating and drinking a bit more and seemed to take my body a bit of time to kick back into weight loss after each 'off plan' time.

I am now doing it again (not sure how long for yet) to try and get the last 20lbs off

I find it VERY effective. The first week or two you tend to lose quite alot (most water weight due to the super low carb) but if you stick with it the weight loss tends to be higher than a general calorie deficit and the fact you're in ketosis (if you do the Keto version)

I also find it easy to stick to after the first few days - it's almost like a switch flips and my body just gets on with it

Downsides:
You have to plan out every mouthful - there's little wiggle room with 800 cals
You can feel lightheaded at times - but lots of water and electrolytes help
It can be hard to do 800 cals across 3 meals (which i do, I can't wait for lunch time to eat). I end up using the Fast 800 meal replacement shakes for lunch as it's an easy 200 cal option and they are pricey but I figure I'm investing in my health

If you're thinking of doing it I'd recommend getting the official book my Michael Mosley as it explains the science and research etc and what macros you should be aiming for - keeping your protein high enough is key

Let me know if you want to know anything else!

I did the fast 800 too and lost nearly 1 stone in 3 weeks but it hasn't been so effective subsequent times I've done it. I like it because the hunger goes when you are in ketosis but like @HorrorFan81 said you have to measure everything carefully. I also got very tired on it and found drinking lots of water helped with that.
I did 2 meals a day because I find it easier not to eat in the morning and then have lunch and dinner and no snacks. I didn't use the recipe book I just had some sort of low fat protein with lots of low carb veggies for dinner and a cloud bread sandwich and low carb salad for lunch (I could eat this at work)

LizzieandFreddie · 17/01/2025 18:42

I have managed to do 10000 steps every day this year so far and some weight workouts as well but I haven't managed to diet at all yet because I've been stressed and comfort eating 🙄

nodtik · 17/01/2025 20:09

Another 45 min workout at the Gym.

This felt good.

Only 8000 steps

1400 calories

Need to get a better handle on my eating .......
