I have done it!

I have reached my goal weight!

Highest weight 22 stone 10lbs (144.2kg), current weight 10 stone 7lbs (66.6kg).

I'm ecstatic, but still don't quite believe it.

Im officially done with losing. 52lbs down, feel a million times better and I'm finding size 10 jeans roomy. I've been getting really into heavy lifting over the last year so focusing now on maintenance and strength.

Good luck to everyone still on their weight loss journey 💪

My weight has plateaued at 9st 7lbs. I've been taking on more than 1200 prob more like 1400 - 1500, possibly a bit more as evening meals are a guesstimate as husband cooks. Maintenance is 1660. So I'm going back to separate dinners for me to give one last push to get to 9st 2lbs. I am struggling a bit with finding what to eat as I don't eat meat and I'm a lazy cook.

How is everyone else getting on?
SW 3 Jan 10st 5lbs
CW 9st 7lbs 8 oz

I'm still losing although I'm not weighing myself very often. I seem to fluctuate around a number and then suddenly there's a 0.5 - 1 kilo drop, so I don't really find regular weighing that useful. Currently 58 kilos now, down from 66. I'm aiming for 50 - hadn't really realised how much extra weight I was carrying until it started to come off, most of it has gone on steadily over the last five years due to various life issues, where health wasn't my focus.

I'm currently back in my usual problem - my waist bands are gaping a bit but my thighs and bum are still big, so clothes don't fit very well. Happy to be losing the gut, though, as I thought that was due to my age, but it seems it was diet after all.

Scarecrow2016 · 01/04/2025 07:35

After having plateaued for 14 days I indulged in restaurant pizza at the weekend and had a cake at 350 cals. I expected to see a rise on the scales but the opposite has happened and it seems to have kick started my weighloss again. Can someone explain how this has happened?

I have zero scientific explanation but have found that sometimes in the past too - its almost like your body needs jolting out of the plateau to start losing again. Whatever works tho 💪

Im still transitioning back to maintainance, am scared to go too quickly after being on 800 for so long. Am on around 1400 now and will stay on this for another week or so then add a few 100 more calories for another week. According to the calculators my TDEE is over 2000 a day which feels enormous after being so low for so long

Theemperorsnewshoes · 02/04/2025 22:41

The last time that I checked in on the 31st January I was 128.5 after starting the year at 130.5 I think. Then I stopped due to what I thought was constipation or trapped wind. Turned out to be more serious but back on it now. Currently doing one meal a day and down to 125.5.

Scarecrow2016 · 03/04/2025 10:28

@HorrorFan81 I'm slowly introducing more 'normal' foods i.e. I'm no longer measuring the milk in my coffee. I have no idea how you managed for so long on 800 cals. I'm super happy to be loosing again and hit 9st 6lbs this morning. I started on 3 Jan at 10.5 so it's been slow but I think/ hope that by going slow it's made me aware of what I was eating and I seem to have broken my sugar cravings. I get v hungry by 10.30am so know that's my weak point and have fruit to hand. But I do miss scones and teacakes. A TDEE of 2000 calories sounds so much - I'm not sure I'd have the appetite now. Remind me how tall you are?

@Theemperorsnewshoes welcome back. 1 meal a day sounds quite extreme - how many calories are you working to?

Its weird but I actually find it easier to eat 800 than just be in a general calorie deficit. I guess its the ketosis.

2000 does seem massive and currently definitely dont have the appetite for it. Im 5'6 and pretty active- 3 heavy weights sessions a week, 15-20k steps a day, 3x30 minutes cardio a week

Sounds like you've lost in a really controlled and sustainable way which is great

Scarecrow2016 · 03/04/2025 11:58

@HorrorFan81 Wowzers you are mega active.

@HorrorFan81 Wowzers you are mega active.

It's taken a while to build up to this, did zero activity 15 months ago

HorrorFan81 · 07/04/2025 10:53

NSV:

Tried on some Levis yesterday. Not only did they look great (if I do say so myself) I had to go down a size to a 26 waist. Now they are jeans that 'come up big' but I was so chuffed 😀

Did 30k steps yesterday and have been really consistent with my weight lifting and core work, along with tracking food ao hopefully will keep maintaining 💪

Scarecrow2016 · 06/05/2025 07:09

After 4 months I've hit my target.

Weight is 9st 2lbs 4oz this morning. Started on 3 January at 10st 5lbs.
My maintenance is 1666 cals and I think I've been coming in at around 1400cals, Im 5'3. My eating habits have totally changed and my diet is so much healthier. I'm going to lose the next 2lbs so I can see 8st on the scale as that's something I've not seen in 16yrs.
I guess I can finally leave this thread 😀
