January 2025! Following on from LOSE IT! December 2024

Fresh Start, New Habits! To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 5lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

@Sparxdislike I bash frozen raspberries and use them with yogurt. It's amazing in the summer because it's icy cold and refreshing.

23,523 steps today but actually more because I didn't put my Fitbit on until leaving for school this morning so probably a couple of hundred more. I'm on course to hit at least 50 miles this week.

Goodnight, sleep tight!

Goodafternoonmillie · 17/01/2025 06:53

I woke up with DOMS today! yesterday was good and came in @ 1302 calories.

TealSloth · 17/01/2025 07:41

Morning everyone hope your all well. Since Monday I've not tracked anything or been to gym due to my mum ending up in hospital she had fallen and broken her pelvis.
I've come on here after 4 days really need to sort my eating out and my fitness. Am down the hill with everything. Shes recovering but still in hospital.
I will re start everything back again on Monday. Am still not right.

socks1107 · 17/01/2025 08:13

Sorry about your mum, hope she is recovering well.
My mum did something similar a year ago so I know the worry you are feeling.

My plan today is

Egg muffin
Halloumi wrap and grapes
Happy meal

And a few drinks out ( it's our normal Friday routine!) all within allowance

Goodafternoonmillie · 17/01/2025 08:22

TeaIsloth in all honesty no. She's never walked since and won't. She's improved from no longer needing a hoist and is now manoeuvring herself across chairs, beds and wheelchairs with other aids. But sadly she'll never walk again.
It's been hard for her but there's so much they can do to support and help independence xx

happytobemrsg · 17/01/2025 18:24

I thought you’d all appreciate this! Since 27th November I have lost 5lb off my hips & 5cm off my waist! 💪🏻🥳

happytobemrsg · 17/01/2025 20:57

PatienceOfEngels · 18/01/2025 08:32

Morning everyone.

@TealSloth so sorry to hear about you mum.

MIL funeral was yesterday. Lovely service and was touching to see how much she meant to people. DC did so well.

Now trying to pick up all the mess in the house and all the things that have fallen by the wayside the last 2 weeks. Definitely haven't been drinking enough this last week.

Just made banana pancakes for everyone for breakfast. Lunch will probably be eggs of some sort. Out for dinner tonight with friends (long ago booked theatre tickets) and going to eat whatever the hell I want.

Goodafternoonmillie · 18/01/2025 08:54

hope you are ok @PatienceOfEngels and definitely enjoy tonight ❤️

I confess that yesterdays Happy Meal ended up being accompanied by a Grimace Milkshake which was 👌🏻 and very much worth the ridiculous amount of extra calories.

Anyway! 40 min walking workout done this morning.
B: Smoothie
L: Tomato & Tuna Pasta
D: Leek Risotto

and now Im off to run around after the littles in soft play. Happy Weekend Everyone!!

Jaderz · 18/01/2025 10:19

Finally had a loss. 67kg today. Exactly 4kg to go

start of new year I was 69kg after getting down to 65kg

LegoTherapy · 18/01/2025 10:30

@PatienceOfEngels I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL Flowers

happytobemrsg · 18/01/2025 11:04

So sorry @PatienceOfEngels. Enjoy a well earned treat at the theatre

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 18/01/2025 11:08

Hi everyone, I’ve updated my nutracheck to allow for three easier days to help reduce the weekend sabotaging. I’m still a little bit over for the week since Wednesday but it’s all about better habits for me, so I still feel on track. I was around half pound down yesterday morning from my Wednesday weigh in so it will be interesting to see where I am next week,

if to the cinema later. Will try and resist the snacks!

sending good wishes to those having a difficult time just now. I don’t blame you re dinner @PatienceOfEngels You can worry about healthy eating another day. I hope you manage to have a nice evening out.

happytobemrsg · 19/01/2025 00:49

First of many planned meals out last night. Went to a Chinese restaurant for a birthday party. Food was yummy but I’m very pleased that I stopped eating once I felt full. Previously I would have just kept eating because it tasted so nice. I also said no to birthday cake 🎂 because I still felt full from dinner. It was pretty late by the time food arrived (maybe 8:30pm ish) so I’m glad I didn’t go crazy. Nice to go to bed not feeling stuffed - that’s what usually happens when I go out for dinner.

In other news, I had a quick try on of some denim midi skirts I wore pre pregnancy. A month ago they were either tight or wouldn’t do up. They now all fit! One is even too big! It’s nice to see some physical progress rather than just numbers in my app or on the scales. Fully expecting to have put a little weight on last night but feeling motivated to keep going 💪🏻

LegoTherapy · 19/01/2025 08:08

@happytobemrsg that's awesome progress 😃

All the birthday celebrations are now finished and there's no more birthday cake to eat so this coming week should be better. I've got to stay in today for ikea making two deliveries so it's a good excuse to make soup and a couple of loaves of bread. I wouldn't be up at this time onna Sunday normally although I was awake anyway with stomachache.

Hope everyone has a good day and is on target for wow in a few days. It seems to come around far too quickly.

Goodafternoonmillie · 19/01/2025 09:16

Morning all! Well done @happytobemrsg!!
Love this! My youngest is 4 and I am still trying to get back to pre pregnancy size 🤣
Amazing!!

yesterday was good @ 1503 calories.
Today I have completed a 35 min Zumba workout (which my kids found hilarious!) and 10 min speed walk video.

Food Plan:
B: Smoothie
L: leftover Leek Risotto
D: Fajitas (as req by 4yo)

I have been having a mid morning snack of HB egg and a mid afternoon snack of a protein yoghurt.
I have a meal out on Weds night so I am hoping that will be a celebratory meal for a good WOW 🤩

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 19/01/2025 11:37

@Goodafternoonmillie I also had a Grimace milkshake on Thursday! 😂🙈 I had McDonalds Thursday night and then Friday night went over my calories with an M&S cookie and two slices of garlic bread - I couldn't resist! So my week view ended on Saturday with me about 400 calories over which isn't too bad in the scheme of things, I felt bothered about it on Friday but yesterday I had a good attitude towards it and haven't let myself go down a slippery slope, still on track yesterday and today 💪 I am so sick and tired of losing like 8lbs then relaxing, then gradually putting it back on again and never getting to my goal weight, this has been going on for almost two years! Determined this time to get to my goal weight and stay there!

B: Coffee and tea
L: Some kimchi and a scotch egg (I need to go to Tesco today 😂)
D: Pesto pasta with broccoli, tomatoes and feta
