⭐️Open to All⭐️

January 2025! Following on from LOSE IT! December 2024

Fresh Start, New Habits! To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 5lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

CW: 87.5kg
GW: 60kg

That's another 0.5kg
I'm having to eliminate dairy and soy from my diet for the next few weeks, so am focusing on that instead of active weight loss. It's too much to think about in one go otherwise. I am still working on dropping that 8pm snack though.

Puffalicious · 15/01/2025 20:35

Well done to all the Wowers, whether it be losses or just a 👏 for a healthier life-style.

What’s your total 8pm snack?? DH sometimes makes homemade plain popcorn- he makes loads & it’s hardly any calories. I just ate some berries & natural yoghurt.

It has to be something very non-messy, as my 4 month old will only sleep on me in bed from 6:30-10pmish. I've been having crumpets, and had made the swap to a yoghurt in the evening instead, but having to eliminate dairy and soy has made yoghurt difficult. I'd like to drop it completely tbh, but breastfeeding makes me so hungry 😅

BlueLightBetty · 15/01/2025 22:04

Thanks @TheRealHousewife I actually thought I’d killed the thread there for a while!
Back at home now and back up to 12st 2.5. Still 1.5 down on were I started from though so hopefully a big reset this week will get me back on track. Want to be 2st down by the beginning of April…😳

Oh I love crumpets! DH was gifted a lovely vegan hamper for Christmas & it included a gourmet peanut butter. I’ve been slavering it over crumpets ever since 😂 🤦🏻‍♀️

SW: 176.6lb
CW: 170.0lb
TW: 154lb

Overall 6.6lb loss since Christmas! But like someone said above that was mostly fluff and I think it'll be harder from now on. I'm looking forward to seeing 160 something instead of 170 something though!

LegoTherapy · 16/01/2025 07:03

I've been awol eating birthday cake after ds's birthday and feeling sluggish. I've just subscribed to Caroline Girvan's beginners programme and have done day 1. It was so much easier than then the epic series. I think it's better to ease into it than making myself struggle to move. Food choices have been rubbish here but now they are better and now the ice has melted I'm back to my normal amount of walking. Last week I did barely any after Tuesday but this week I'm on 33.69 miles or 78,000 steps. I feel so much better for it too.

Some great losses on WOW well done everyone!

Jaderz · 16/01/2025 07:32

Still no weight loss 😂
I am back at working out though so this lack of result has been spurring me on. I will never assume something is easy again 😂

Goodafternoonmillie · 16/01/2025 09:50

Yesterday came in @ 1595 calories 👍🏻

Today:
40 min full body dumbbell workout ✅
20 min outside walk ✅

B: Smoothie
L: Tomato Soup & Sourdough
D: Mustard Chicken & Rice

determined for a better week this week!!

TinDogTavern · 16/01/2025 10:00

Belatedly checking in.

SW: 12st 10lb
CW: 12st 7lb
TW: 8st 10lb

I'm pretty pleased with that, the plan was always 1lb a week and considering I've had a change of job and a birthday in the middle of that, I'm good. I have GOT to up my levels of exercise but the cold and dark are so bloody off-putting!

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 16/01/2025 10:08

Oof just weighed myself now and feeling a bit frustrated!

SW: 9st 11.75
CW: 9st 11
GW: 9st

So that's a 1/4 lb difference from last week - still, at least it's not more. Just going to take me way longer than I anticipated, I'm sure last time I weighed this much and lost half a stone it was a lot faster! All I can do is keep tracking and keep going though!

StrangewaysHereWeCome · 16/01/2025 10:16

Apologies for the late check in. I had flu, which meant NO exercise, and not the best diet for a few days - too many bags of crisps, and far too much juice/smoothies. I always crave juice when I'm unwell.

BUT I did manage to lose a pound!

Fellsbells · 16/01/2025 12:13

Checking in, I’m trying to get on track with food, sleep, motivation and exercise and not doing great today.

socks1107 · 16/01/2025 12:22

I did a good gym work out last night. A mix of weights and cardio.
I didn't sleep well thanks to dh snoring and coming to bed disturbing me too late. I have snapped at him today unfortunately.
When I've had no sleep I eat badly so I'm resisting that urge.

B - porridge
L - halluomini bagel, grapes, nuts, protein pudding
D - two potato waffles two fried eggs in fry light
Water and no snacks

I haven't had a bar of chocolate or can of Coke in two weeks. And no crisps for 7 days. I don't have any cravings either! I lost two stone eating all that stuff but want to address my eating this year and make it healthier as part of the next three stone

LegoTherapy · 16/01/2025 13:03

I'm not one for sharing photos of food but this was my delicious lunch today. I used to have it every day but got out of the habit. It was so good! Yes, I add honey but Greek yogurt without some kind of sweetening is too sour for me. I'll be glad when strawberries and raspberries are in season again because the taste is so much better. I was going to have halloumi and beetroot wrap but I had it yesterday and found it too much for lunch so I'll have it for dinner later. I had a quorn vegan sausage roll yesterday as an on the go dinner. Not good either health or taste wise. I'd love to be a salad person but I'm more a pizza and pasta person 😁

Rugby training started this week, so lots of running around. Also managed to get in all the exercise - 2 gym sessions and 2 runs. I didn't lose weight this week I have put weight on! In the breakdown however I have lost a bit of fat (yaaaaaay!)

SW: 66.9 kg (25.6 % body fat)
CW: 66.9 kg (up 0.5 kg from last week) (24.6 % body fat)

TerroristToddler · 16/01/2025 13:33

Just done a quick Peloton cycle class during my lunch hour, then scoffed my lunch. Menu for today comes in just under 1,300 cals and is:

Brek - porridge (150cal)
Lunch - lentil, BN squash and chicken soup, a small GF wrap, apple and a carrot and hummus (409 cal in total)
Dinner - homemade sweet potato and chickpea veg curry with rice. Desert of soya yog with chopped banana. (624 cal total)

Enough cals left to have a small kitkat for an evening snack too.

Weight loss is slow, but I do feel more energised due to all the good food I'm eating and lack of processed crap. Will take my measurements again in a week or so to see if I'm perhaps losing inches instead of lbs! Anyone else do measurements instead?

talkingdeadscot · 16/01/2025 14:04

Bit late but here for WOW

SW - 10.4
GW - 9-9.7 ish
CW - 10.5

A 1lb gain wasn't what I was hoping for! Have stuck to 1300 cals but can't exercise so not sure what I can do. Maybe IF is the way to go.

Well done everyone who lost and keep plodding to the rest of us

I do measurements on me three sixty and love to compare.
I lost a cm of most areas this week!

Goodafternoonmillie · 16/01/2025 15:50

@TerroristToddler I have taken measurements at the beginning of the month, will measure again at end of Jan.
anything to boost motivation!!!

happytobemrsg · 16/01/2025 15:53

It’s reassuring to see other slow losers on this thread. I’m aiming for 1lb a week. Feeling very low today. Feeling lonely & isolated whilst on maternity leave (not to mention chubby & skint!).

Jaderz · 16/01/2025 19:00

Remember, no weight loss doesn’t mean nothing is happening to your body. Good things will be just from better nutrition and more activity

Goodafternoonmillie · 16/01/2025 19:07

@happytobemrsg I remember that feeling very well during maternity leave. Hope youre OK.

I have frozen fruit as fresh berries don't seem great at the moment. I defrost them the night before. They are really nice with yogurt :)
