January 2025! Following on from LOSE IT! December 2024

Fresh Start, New Habits! To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 5lbs.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

1lb up, but not really been tracking well so not surprised.

good luck today everyone.
well done!

Sparxdislike · 15/01/2025 07:33

I'm 6lbs down but gained a lb since last week (I had lost 7lbs) I have been good other than one meal at the weekend. It is my period so may be water weight. We shall see next week :)

Jaderz · 15/01/2025 08:05

weigh in today no weight loss but from experience I am doing everything right so I will just be patient. Slow progress spurred me on to get back to exercising so that’s a good outcome. Sometimes I need a challenge

IDareSay · 15/01/2025 08:29

As I hoped, most of my Christmas weight gain was 'fluff' due to too much sugar and wine, but I'm very pleased with this loss of 2.7kg, especially as a few mint cremes and a couple of glasses of red did creep in! This rate of loss will slow down immensely from now I'm sure but it is very motivating to be back to my pre-Christmas weight so quickly.

Being consistent so far with:
Water intake 2l 7/7
Vitamins 7/7
16:8 7/7
Will add in some exercise habits towards the end of the month, just walking for now.

SW: 72.5 kg
GW1: 69 kg end January (adjusted from 70kg)
CW: 69.8kg (2.7kg lost)
GW2: 65 kg end March (in time for weekend away)
GW3: 60kg end October

under60kgbyJuly · 15/01/2025 08:51

WOW:
SW: 63.4kg
CW: 63.0kg
GW: 60.0kg

Right direction, however snail-like my progress. I had been hoping to see something starting with 62 this week, but oh well. I've just started taking iron supplements, again, which... isn't helping 😄

socks1107 · 15/01/2025 08:51

1kg off this week! So happy.

SW87
CW 86
GW 75

I've stayed off all cola, kept to my calories and enjoyed a day off on Saturday ( counted and was mindful but went over)
Onto the next week

CakeFace1234 · 15/01/2025 09:20

1lb off this week. Happy with that as first week was a big loss which was probably Christmas and water - I think I am going to focus on working towards the first 5% loss rather looking at the 5 stone number as that is so daunting.

Well done for all your losses.

SW 15.05
CW 14.11
5% 1 14.08
GW 2 10

OkyDoke · 15/01/2025 09:49

Hello all. Was very excited to see 93.3kg on the scales this morning, but then remembered I gave blood last night so it will be back on again soon. But hopefully I can maintain it over the week.

1/1/25 - 94.7kg
13/1/25 - 94.1kg
15/1/24 - 93.3kg

ForestDragon · 15/01/2025 09:54

WoW and I don't think I reported last week!
SW (1/1/25) 94 kg
CW 92.5 kg
GW 70 kg

1kg of that came off last week, so a steady and perfectly acceptable 0.5kg this week. Feeling more stable - last week was a bit stressful with new job, new commute, etc, and I did make some bad food choices, but nothing too awful. Trying to eat more protein this week, and set some rules around what food I'll buy at work / while commuting which are sustainable. Had not thought about the fact that connecting through a big city railway station every day opens up all sorts of food temptations! Am also making an effort to get back to running, I had a good start first week of Jan then the ice put me off going out. Ran on Monday though and will definitely go again on Friday.

Right, off to catch up on the thread now - so many posts to read!

socks1107 · 15/01/2025 10:29

Does anyone else use me three sixty?

I used it last year to loose my two stone and found it so motivating. I scanned last week and again today and already lost a cm off most places! It's a brilliant app and all free

TerroristToddler · 15/01/2025 10:58

Weigh in day for me today. I've been consistent since 2nd Jan and eating 1,300 cals max and trying to aim for 3-4 sessions of exercise per week, and a walk on my 'rest days'. Last week only lost 1/2 lb, but I'm such a slow loser and I'm petite so my cal deficit can't go too low as my TDEE is low anyway.

SW 2/1/2025 - 139.8lbs
CW 15/1/2025 - 137.8
GW - 125lbs

So down 2lbs in total across 2 weeks.

I'm okay with that as equates to 1lb per week which is my goal. Another 12.8lbs left to go, so if I lost 1lb per week hopefully I'd reach target around mid-April (though I hugely expect to have several 1/2lb loss weeks thrown in due to slow losses) I have an event to attend end of April and really wanted to have lost most of my weight by then so I'm keeping that goal in mind! Holiday is booked for end of July and it would be amazing if I was at my goal weight for then - I'd be so thrilled with myself!

TheRealHousewife · 15/01/2025 11:08

Good Morning

So far this year weight has fluctuated up and down 2lbs. Currently it’s fluctuated back up and I find I’m down .5lb overall.

WOW - 9st 4.5lbs 😬 Bugger. Calorie counted 99% of the time and logged everything. I know that not being able to exercise regularly impacts on my progress or lack off. How I see it if I hadn’t stuck to plan I’d have gained. I’ll just keep at it. 👍

Well Done to everyone! Even if your effort isn’t reflected on the scales I’m sure you feel better for eating an healthier diet 👍👌

socks1107 I had not heard from that but had a quick google and that looks really good and very motivating. Will have a closer look later!

FaeryQueen · 15/01/2025 12:07

Down to 10st 10.4 this morning from 10st 12 last week but as I had 10st 11 the day after the official WOW it's only about half a pound.

A little disappointed as I've cut calories to 1000 a day to try and kickstart the loss again. I'm hoping its the water hogging ability of the bread I ate yesterday and I'll be lighter tomorrow.

Today is a hard boiled egg with a mug of my homemade veg and lentil soup

Tonight is gyozas and lots of veg and salad stuff

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 15/01/2025 14:21

I haven't done my weigh in today because I forgot this morning so going to do it tomorrow morning for consistency - I like to weigh first thing when I get up! Well done to everyone who has lost even if it's only a little bit and well done to everyone anyway for sticking with it all - I feel like I'll only have lost a little but as @TheRealHousewife says I do feel better for eating healthier and being aware of what I'm eating 😊😊

Today -

B: Coffee with oat milk x 2
L: Pumpkin spice soup
D: 2 x sausages with jerk sweet potato and black bean stew and a poached egg

Forgotmyoriginalusername · 15/01/2025 15:52

Down on last week and proceeding - slow and steady wins the race!

Keep going everyone!

Goodafternoonmillie · 15/01/2025 16:45

well done to everyone on their wows!

I chose a spinach falafel wrap and berries for lunch from M&S 👍🏻

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 15/01/2025 18:24

Down around a 1/4 lb today, which was a bit disappointing, as I was hoping for more of a post Christmas whoosh despite some unhealthy choices at the weekend. Onwards though, I’m getting back into healthier habits and hopefully today is the start of a week of more disciplined calorie counting and upping my activity (which has been a bit woeful of late).

today’s menu:

B - boiled egg & toast
L - homemade lentil soup, falafel, humous
D - veggie satay noodles

Will have some fruit after dinner, but well under today’s calorie goal at the moment.

TheRealHousewife · 15/01/2025 18:39

BlueLightBetty · 14/01/2025 17:08

Can I join you all? I started on 1st Jan at 12st 4 (I'm 5ft 4, so BMI 29.4). Heaviest I've ever been. I do 'Weigh in Wednesday' and the first week lost 5lb. But since Friday we've been staying with elderly family and it's VERY slow and sedentary and I don't have any control about what and when we eat. Refusal is seen as a major rebuff! So I've definitely put on weight again now. I go home tomorrow and feel like I need a group to help when things get tricky in future!

Welcome to the thread @BlueLightBetty … sorry I missed it yesterday 👍

I understand your disappointment @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo! After having quite a liberal diet over the festive period, I’m now currently eating all the right things, weighing to aid portion control, no snacking (never really snack to be honest), staying hydrated etc. As yet no meaningful loss. In my instance. Can’t really cut calories any more because it affects my sleep if hungry hungry. Slow and steady is how my body does it. Here’s hoping our scales move soon!

Jaderz · 15/01/2025 18:47

I am not losing much either but I am giving it time.

SeekingTreasures · 15/01/2025 19:47

Well done on all the losses and, to all who aren't satisfied this time round, all the best with your efforts for the week to come.

Here, I'm pleased with my results this week:
SW 77kg
CW 74,45kg
GW 62kg

So, about 1.5kg have gone since my last wow. I'm very happy with that.

All the best to everyone for the coming week! Smile

happytobemrsg · 15/01/2025 20:18

socks1107 · 14/01/2025 15:53

Todays menu is

Porridge

Crackers, cheese, protein yoghurt and cashew nuts

Skinny fries and Richmond sausages. I have enough left to have a protein shake should I need one.

Down on the scales today so hoping tmrw will be positive.

I've ordered shorts in the sale from Zara that have arrived, they only had a size down available so I bought them ready to fit by September for my holiday! May take progress photos as I go

Don’t talk about the Zara sale!! I’ve seen so many things I want but trying to hold off until I reach my target weight…. But gosh it is tempting

SpringleDingle · 08/01/2025 14:18

WoW for me!

SW 180lb
CW 175lb
TW 141lb.

Currently using Parrot-Pal app.

WOW … no change! Thought I was doing so well. 😞. Will keep trying!

happytobemrsg · 15/01/2025 20:20

Very happy WOW today with a 1.6lb loss in a week (I’m a very slow loser)

SW: 10st 2lb
CW: 9st 3lb
TW: 8st 10lb

Just 7lb to go! Aim is 1lb a week but I have some pretty hefty meals out coming up so might be playing catch up in February. I’m probably at my pre-pregnancy weight (DS3 is nearly 8m) but it’s all distributed differently. Mainly on my tummy & thighs. Not ideal but will keep plodding on & see what happens.
