Hello Members both Founders & New ❤️

Following on from https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight_loss_chat/5177149-lose-it-october-opt-in-2024?reply=139067760 🍁LOSE IT! October 2024🍁

We are now in the 8 Week Countdown to Christmas 🎄🎄🎄 Do you want to look and feel absolutely fabulous in time for the festivities?

In adopting a few lifestyle changes and food choices you can 👌

If you’re a returner or a new starter feel free to jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.
We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I follow a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost 4 stones. After having been on the wrong side of 12st I am currently idling around 8st 10lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes.

I might have to adjust my goal weight. I now only have 4.7kg until goal weight and my stomach is still huge. I hold all my weight in my stomach and boobs.

TheRealHousewife · 15/11/2024 10:20

Good Morning All

I feel marginally better but still under par. I’ve declared today a duvet in front of the fire with a hot drink kinda day 😷😬

Menu
Meal 1 - Porridge with blueberries
Meal 2 - Home made burger and fries
Tea, black coffee, water, lemon ginger honey.

PS not my fire 🔥

@Skyglimmer that's awesome progress!!

@beezlebubnicky thank you 😊.

Didn't get a macdonals after all, was up with stomach pains all night and feeling fragile today

beezlebubnicky · 15/11/2024 23:39

Not too bad today, cracked and had a treat bag of Maltesers at the theatre this evening but amazing still managed to stay just under my cals as I hadn't eaten as much in the day. Keep it up people!

B: Bacon sandwich in flatbread, apple
L: Carrot sticks, radish, cheese, a leftover sausage (a hobbit lunch, if you will)
D: Spicy chicken burger in flatbread with chipotle lime coleslaw
S: Maltesers 😅, apple

LemonDrizzle23 · 16/11/2024 08:48

Hope you're feeling better soon @TheRealHousewife !

Well done @Skyglimmer - I feel your pain as someone whose weight always goes to the stomach first. And that's the most unhealthy place to hold it too 🙄

We are up and breakfasted and heading into the city later today to watch the new paddington film and go out for dinner.

I am reminding myself that there is no reason to eat differently just because it's the weekend! The weekends are where I tend to fall down..... We have one meal out, but the rest will be normal food.

TheRealHousewife · 16/11/2024 11:52

Good Morning All

Thank you @LemonDrizzle23 Its gone to my chest now (plenty of room for it 😬) and with the coughing I’ve pulled muscles I didn’t know I had.

Menu
Meal 1 - Home made Chicken Curry taken out of freezer to be chucked into oven later.
Meal 2 - ?
Tea, black coffee, water, honey lemon ginger in hot water.

@Margauxdes and @TheRealHousewife hope you're both feeling better soon!

I feel your pain @Skyglimmer I'm an apple shape and even at my slimmest always have a tummy - the rest of my limbs could be sticks and I'd still have one! I'm just trying to reduce it a little bit but it's never below 31.5in which is the supposed healthy waist size for women - I'd have to be dangerously underweight to achieve that.

Chilly day today so I might go for a bit of a cosy day myself.

B/L: Wetherspoons brekkie - Fiesta brunch thing with poached egg, mushroom, halloumi, avo on toast and a side of bacon. Lime and soda, black coffee.
D: Chickpea spinach stew
S: Fruit, Raspberry Skyr yoghurt, milled chia

LemonDrizzle23 · 17/11/2024 07:18

Well the restaurant saved me from myself last night, by taking an hour to serve us and making it far too late for DS for more than one course. Also my friend "only wanted a starter", but then decided she would need to share my main! So I think I ate about 2/3 of one course.

Ah well. In other news, having not made it to bed til gone 9pm last night (because of a load of cancelled trains home), DS still woke up at 6.45am 😬 so today is going to be a long old day....

beezlebubnicky · 17/11/2024 10:00

Not the best weekend for me, was into the chocolate last night again and going for a carvery today! I'll make sure I get back into it otherwise though, if I don't lose this week then so be it. I've felt much more tired and hungrier this weekend, maybe it's the cold.

OneDayIWillLearn · 17/11/2024 11:22

Not the best weekend for me either. Had a bit of a mad Friday night (far too much fizzy wine) then was hungover yesterday so spent most the morning trying to eat things to make me feel better. Then got talked into baking a cheesecake with the children, followed by a party in the evening for a friend’s birthday and more fizzy wine!! 2800 calories on Friday and yesterday.

I’m currently ‘only’ 1000 calories over my target for the week though so if today is more sensible then hopefully I’ll STS or get a slight loss.

Just need to fight that ‘all or nothing’ mindset!!

Fellsbells · 17/11/2024 18:08

Cold weather makes me want to eat all the time.
L-veg soup
D- roast dinner and too much brownie.

I need a good couple of weeks to shrink me down a bit!

Skyglimmer · 18/11/2024 07:12

I have struggled a bit this weekend and eaten a little badly. I am learning to not go overboard as I am usually all or nothing kind of person when it comes to diet.

Accbabymom1994 · 18/11/2024 07:55

I had a bad week because its gone cold and I was finding fasting hard but will start again today definitely

TheRealHousewife · 18/11/2024 08:50

Good Morning

Ive caught an head cold on top of the chesty virus 🤧 Not feeling my best at all.

Get well soon @TheRealHousewife

PatienceOfEngels · 18/11/2024 10:24

Eaten all the rubbish going this weekend and then some!

It's a new day, a new week.
No evening eating.
No UPF snacking.
Drink enough water.

Hope you're feeling better soon @TheRealHousewife

Webbb · 18/11/2024 10:33

I stayed the same this week which I'm happy with! Same for week before too so I really need to get back to basics and get it moving to hit my target before christmas. I want to have lost 3 stone, I'm at 2 stone 6lb now.

My Mam is staying this week and the weekend just gone so lots of rich food and eating out. But I'm going to try and get on it when she goes home Wed morning.

Get well soon, @TheRealHousewife

champagneplanet · 18/11/2024 10:55

Happy Monday everyone. Feeling fresh today after a very chilly dog walk/school run this morning! Warming up now in the office with a coffee.

Had a few glasses of wine on Fri/Sat, although food wise I made some quite sensible choices. Did have a pizza on Fri however ordered a small one so didn't overdo it, Sat dinner was steak at home (DH cooked on the BBQ outside despite it being November!) and it was delicious - so much better than a takeaway, and yesterday I did a homemade cottage pie with lots of veg which everyone devoured.

Also kept up with the walking over the weekend so overall its been a good one. Need to keep myself on track this week as I am away at the weekend with friends so that may be a bit of an indulgent one!

Hope everyone has a great week, stay warm ❄

beezlebubnicky · 19/11/2024 13:58

Well I started the day by posting this on the wrong thread, so that's how the day is going! 🤣After a bit of an unhealthy long weekend I am determined to get back on the horse. Woke up at 6:20 this morning with some bugger scraping their car and couldn't get back to sleep, so I'm tired, but have lots of healthy options in.

I'm going to make a big bean/veg salad I can pick on for lunches throughout the week.

B: Scrambled eggs, small piece of toast
L: Picky snack box thing with veg, dip, protein, fruit
D: Baked creamy spinach gnocchi with prawns
S: Caramel crunch bar, yoghurt and fruit

Wish everyone a good week!

Webbb · 19/11/2024 19:52

My mam is going home tomorrow (😥) so I'll be back on it 100%.

We are, however, eating all of the food out of the freezer in preparation for the new one arriving on Sunday, which is making for some strange and often calorific meals, but needs must. Aiming to have excellent breakfast and lunches, no snacks so that I can relax about dinners.

LemonDrizzle23 · 20/11/2024 07:37

Beautiful frosty sunrise for WOW this morning. Did everyone have snow yesterday?

SW: 97.5kg
CW: 92.2kg
2nd goal: 88kg

I think about 0.3kg off this week - happy scale tells me I wasn't weighing regularly at the start of the month. But that's a start.

DS has a terrible cough starting, and I can see our weekend plans falling away. He has asthma and whilst he's been relatively stable with meds the last couple of years, we had so many hospitalisations when he was little. I never feel comfortable leaving him overnight when he's like this. We'll have to wait and see.

Good luck everyone!

LegoTherapy · 20/11/2024 07:50

Shuffling in with a 56.3kg which is a loss of around a pound since the weekend. I've been ill for 2 weeks and am on my second lot of antibiotics so not feeling my best. I've been off food and not making good choices. I can't stomach much variety due to nausea. It's all a bit shit. I'm hoping to get some soup made today. I really need to learn how to use the slow cooker function on my ninja foodi.
Exercise is still good. Still walking lots. Did 60 miles last week.

IDareSay · 20/11/2024 07:54

Good morning Wowers

No snow here, just rain but it’s certainly colder. Relieved to be slightly down this week after an incident with some apple pie on Saturday and After Eights on Sunday (both instigated by DH I might add).

Minimal progress but better down than up!

SW: 73.9kg (11st 9lbs) (beginning of August)
CW: 70.7kg (11st 2lbs) today, 20/11
GW: 69.0 kg (10st 12lbs) Christmas interim target
GW: 57kg (9st)
Onwards and downwards and must try harder!

OliveZebra · 20/11/2024 07:55

Starting weight - 69kg
week1 - 68.4kg
week 2 - 68.2kg
week 3 - 67.4kg
Week 4 - 67.8kg
week 5 - 67.2kg 🥳

TheRealHousewife · 20/11/2024 09:15

Morning All ❤️

No WOW for me … still have a pesky cold together with a migraine. Feeling somewhat sorry myself and that isn’t me at all. Other half brought me a brew in bed and trying to find a comfy position to reduce pain.
