A big welcome to anyone who wants to join us on bigger weight loss journeys.

We are all following our own methods, whatever works for each of us and no judgment for anyone who falls off the wagon for a bit either. We've all been there and know we're on a marathon and not a sprint.

Part three, let's go!

Hi @Izzydogmum glad everything is going well so far.

@PreesHeath sometimes you just have to pick things you can focus on and try not to worry about everything else. I always try to have a ready meal in the freezer as they're great on days when I'm far too busy to think about cooking. Have you tried the frozen steam vegetables by birds eye? I find they're an easy way to get a portion of veg and they take about 3 minutes to cook.

I don't know if I should share my happy news, so if you don't want to see it stop reading now. But in the 14 stones again! I've lost 8 stone since my highest weight. I'm going to Pilates later. Next week is my uni results day where I find out my degree classification, so I'm going to the Jellycat store to celebrate (well, hopefully it will be a celebration).

Sunshineandrainbow · 19/07/2024 07:28

Wow @DuckWithOneWing that is amazing, congratulations on your degree and enjoy the jelly cat store!

You must feel fantastic being. In the 14's, you have worked so hard and deserve it. I can't wait to see that number on the scales.

I am currently not weighing myself. I find sometimes if I have a good result I reward myself with food and then some goes back on. My mindset is shocked. So if I dont weigh weekly I don't have this affect.

I might weigh tomorrow as not done it for a few weeks. I have been eating well so hopefully a good result.

Have a fab day everyone.

mondaytosunday · 19/07/2024 08:15

Hi
Back from holiday. Sadly did need extension belt but it was ok.
I gained back a couple pounds but had lost a little since my last update before the trip.
SW: 24.9
CW: 22.6
GW: 12.5

Not quite back on it since the holiday, but have a joint 60th party in three weeks so hope to lose a half stone by then so need to get cracking. This weather is not conducive to moving much! 30 degrees predicted today!

Echoes89 · 19/07/2024 08:47

So I've ended up putting weight back on this week, I did eat quite a lot over the weekend but stuck to my diet the rest of this week and haven't shifted anything so nearly 4lbs back on 😥

Sw- 17st 3lbs
Cw- 13st 8lbs
Gw- 10st 6lbs
Mini gw - 12st 8lbs September

PreesHeath · 19/07/2024 09:18

Well done @DuckWithOneWing Great stuff!

Keep on keeping on everyone! I have decided I need more of a plan and if you lot can all do than so must I so thanks all. Yesterday wasn't great and I really don't want to undo all my hard work. So

• 10000 steps (2000 done so far)
• Black tea and black coffee this morning
• Boiled eggs with tenderstem broccoli for lunch
• Salmon and veg for dinner.
• Option of a quick swim in the sea this evening if I am up to it. I struggle to get into the water because of the cold, but once in definitely benefit and it helps my mood and sleep. But I'm not going to force myself.

Hope to restart the gym tomorrow and have a pool swim on Sunday, and C25k next week. Started it again from the start recently, but really running rather than shuffling in the running bits this time. It's a completely different experience and I'm finding it really physically tough, whereas the first time round the battle was as much the mental one.

Sammysees · 21/07/2024 09:41

Hello lovely people. Sorry I have been missing for a while. Struggling with my PTSD for a few weeks. My stress levels are thru the roof. It was lovely reading back thru all the comments - you are all amazing! So proud of you all.
I am doing ok. Not been on it like I used to be but it has actually had a positive outcome for me. My weight loss used to be really slow eating 1200 calories. I am now eating 1500 and the weight loss has kicked in again.
SW - 16th March - 21st 1lb
CW - Today - 18st 10lbs
Total loss - 2st 5lbs in 4 months
Target - No idea so going to say 13st and see how I feel when I get there.
I always find it very inspiring reading all of your stories/comments so thank you ☺️

Sunshineandrainbow · 23/07/2024 08:07

Hi @Sammysees so good to see you back.

Really pleased the higher calories are working for you and your weight loss is amazing you should be really proud of that. We all know how hard it is.

I hope everyone is having a good week.

Izzydogmum · 24/07/2024 09:21

Hi all!

Back to report on week 1!
Was a good week, managed to stay under calories and also did IF on weekdays. And fitted a little swim in too!

SW: 311
CW: 303
Total lost: 8lbs

Hope you all have a good week.

BeNoisyLemonFinch · 24/07/2024 09:31

DuckWithOneWing · 24/07/2024 11:35

@mondaytosunday hope you had a nice holiday!

@Sammysees nice to see you again.

Sammysees · 24/07/2024 17:32

Congratulations @DuckWithOneWing that is amazing!!
And a brilliant weight loss @Izzydogmum

Sunshineandrainbow · 24/07/2024 18:15

Amazing news @DuckWithOneWing

PreesHeath · 24/07/2024 19:46

Brilliant! What a star you are @DuckWithOneWing

peonym · 27/07/2024 12:54

Hi everyone 👋🏻

I've been quietly watching the thread since giving birth in May, well done to everyone for hanging in there - some fabulous losses.

Still in a bit of a postpartum haze but really want to give myself the momentum to lose the a few stone over the next year. Would appreciate all the help and encouragement this lovely thread gives! Won't be doing anything in particular other than eating less and walking more 🙈

SW:18,3
CW:15,9
GW: 12,7

Sammysees · 27/07/2024 18:09

Welcome @peonym. Congratulations on your new baby. You have already made a great start on your weight loss journey. I think we can all say our own journeys have been through highs and lows but we are all still here supporting each other.

I had a random phone call from the Doctors on Thursday after routine bloods. I have stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease. I think it sounds worse than it is and now waiting results from urine sample to see what happens next. Hopefully losing weight will help - everything seems to be blamed on weight these days.

How is everyone else?

Sunshineandrainbow · 29/07/2024 11:45

Welcome @peonym , congratulations on your baby, lovely way to exercise pushing a pram, I loved those days!

Well I have weighed myself this morning. First time it said 16.3 second time 15.13 fgs! I have recorded the higher one which means I have lost 2 stone I think! Although can't really remember my start weight accurately but it was definitely over 18.3. I am chuffed and I definitely feel smaller in myself and happier in myself.
I still feel uncomfortable when people say they can see I have lost weight, I hate the attention and to think how bad I must have been before!

Izzydogmum · 30/07/2024 11:19

Hi all!

Welcome @peonym congrats on little one!

Week 2 weigh in
SW: 311
CW: 301
Lost: 10lbs

Will keep chipping away!

Have a good week all x

Sammysees · 30/07/2024 16:16

Brilliant @Izzydogmum. That is a fantastic loss! I am trying to only weigh once a month now as I get too disheartened. Losing weight at 50+ is a lot harder than when I was in my 40’s. It is coming off slowly though so that is a good thing.

You are doing great @Sunshineandrainbow 💪🏼

Sunshineandrainbow · 30/07/2024 18:18

I am struggling in this hot weather.
Nothing feels cool on me.

46mumof6 · 31/07/2024 09:46

Hi I'm new on here. We as a family of 5 are starting tomorrow, we all have different goals but it is good supporting each other.

I am 6ft 1 and weigh 26.7 the heaviest I have ever been. I have mobility issues and take a lot of meds which doesn't help.

I would love to be roughly 13 stone by my 50th September 26, that gives me 2 years 1 month to lose over half what I weigh now.

Hopefully with ideas on here my family will be successful Star

PreesHeath · 31/07/2024 10:09

Good luck - @46mumof6 Losing even a small amount will make such a difference to your mobility - I've certainly found that to be the case. Conversely I've put a bit back on again and it has really affected my ability to exercise. We need to keep going!

Congrats @peonym ! Well done @Izzydogmum

Fist bumps @Sammysees and @Sunshineandrainbow - I'm still struggling too. I have my 50th birthday coming up in ten days, and have failed to reach my target, in fact I've put quite a bit back on in the last month. I'm aiming for (another) reset after my birthday but until then I'm setting myself a few small goals in order not to do too much more damage.

Goals until birthday are

10000 steps a day.
3 meals a day with no eating between meals and plenty of veg and salad.
Regular sleep
No alcohol

I am not calorie counting, or avoiding carbs at the moment. On my birthday weekend (my MIL has her 70th two days after mine so it is a whole weekend!) I will eat drink and be merry, and then aim to get back on track from Monday, when I will need to ramp it up again. My nine year old asked me with concern yesterday "Is that good for your diet, Mum?" yesterday so I think he has noticed that I have stopped being so strict 🙁

DuckWithOneWing · 31/07/2024 13:18

@Sunshineandrainbow the weather is terrible! My partner just wants to eat ice cream all day. Aldi have some Kevin The Carrot ice lollies which are not carrot flavoured and so are quite nice but also low calorie.

Welcome @46mumof6 it's great that your family are supporting you. Have you decided how you want to do it? I'm doing calorie counting but others prefer different methods.

OMG @Izzydogmum if you keep going, next week you'll be under 300! That's a brilliant milestone to start off with.

The hot weather is ruining my running 🙁 I was supposed to go yesterday evening but it was too hot so I didn't feel like it. I set my alarm to get up really early and go this morning before work, but I'm not a morning person so knew that was never going to work.

I am cutting by out crap really and trying to eat 3 small meals a day. I work 4 nights a week at home sitting at my desk so eating can sometimes get messed about.

Still having my dinner at 6pm when working and when not working.

Weighed myself this morning and I'm 26 stone 13lbs so a bit more than I thought

DuckWithOneWing · 03/08/2024 10:27

I went to an early Pilates class before work today. I really enjoyed it and I get to feel smug for the rest of the day, but I'm already starving and it's not lunch time for ages.

@46mumof6 Your weight might be a bit higher than you thought it would be, but next week it will be lower! You never have to see that number again. How's it going so far?

DuckWithOneWing · 07/08/2024 20:44

I feel like loads of good things are happening all at once. I'm now in onederland! I was so happy that I woke my partner up to tell him, and then he just said "oh". My weight was over 300lbs, and now I'm into the 100s!
