10st plus to lose - part 3

A big welcome to anyone who wants to join us on bigger weight loss journeys.

We are all following our own methods, whatever works for each of us and no judgment for anyone who falls off the wagon for a bit either. We've all been there and know we're on a marathon and not a sprint.

Part three, let's go!

Hello! How is everyone doing?

good luck for the race @DuckWithOneWingi just did one a couple of weeks ago, it was hillier than anticipated 🙈

feeling sick with the pregnancy but having to constantly eat which is less than ideal. Hey ho. Keep on keeping on I guess. Have meds from doctor but they don’t really help (I had hyperemesis with my second, that was a living hell).

nothing else to report from me. My eldest starts nursery in a coiple of weeks and I feel like it’s the end of an era! I’m not really enjoying my work much at the moment, hoping it’s just a blip. Hope everyone doing well! Some nice weather due here this weekend thankfully.

This morning I did a 10k run as part of my fundraising for the air ambulance. I'm so thrilled with my time - it was exactly what I was aiming for but I really didn't think I could do it.

peonym · 10/09/2025 19:46

How’s everyone doing?

11 weeks pregnant and I’m feeling like shite. Have to eat on the hour every hour otherwise I throw up / feel debilitating sickness. Am already on meds so not much else to do bar ride it out! Not happy I’ve put on half a stone already.

already looking forward to shedding the pregnancy weight next year.

Would love some good news stories from all you guys, how’s everyone doing?

Sunshineandrainbow · 11/09/2025 07:02

Sorry your having a tough time @peonym I remember being 9 months pregnant and lighter then I am now through feeling sick. Hope it eases.

I am ok ISH, haven't weighed myself in weeks, I have signed up to a women's fitness thing, not quite sure what I am getting for the 50 a week but posting photos of everything I eat is making me think twice. Will need how it pans out!

My daughter is going away for 2 months and I will be home alone which will allow me to get some jobs done. But it also gets me thinking ooo what nice things can I eat, why do I have this mindset???

Work is a bit mad. I have downloaded the NHS active 10 app which encourages at least 10 mins of brisk walking a day and I have done this on my short lunch break every day this week and tried to include hills!

Sunshineandrainbow · 19/09/2025 06:46

How has everyone week been?

I feel like I am back in the saddle and need to embrace it while I can, for the first time I have upped my protein to see if that makes a difference and I am no longer seeing how many packs of crisps I can fit into my daily calorie allowance! I have also walked in my lunch break,

My first half marathon to raise money for the air ambulance is next weekend! I haven't weighed myself for a while because I'm currently in the taper period where you eat more carbs and do less exercise. I'm also thoroughly enjoying pumpkin spice latte season and have had 3 already (over the last few weeks not all today).

Sunshineandrainbow · 28/09/2025 09:16

How did the marathon go @DuckWithOneWing I hope you enjoyed it, such a great cause too.

How is everyone else doing?

Plodding along here, looking forward to making some vegetable soup today for work lunches!

DuckWithOneWing · 28/09/2025 18:52

Half marathon went really well! I'm so thrilled I managed to run it all, despite the hills, and finished well within my target time. The weather was almost ideal, although there was a bit of drizzle but it was a nice temperature. Now I'm having a well deserved rest on the sofa and might have a takeaway later.

Sunshineandrainbow · 30/09/2025 18:08

Wow amazing @DuckWithOneWing you must be so proud of yourself. Wonderful achievement 💗

peonym · 08/10/2025 18:19

@DuckWithOneWingincredible achievement, just amazing. I’m sure you are SO proud!!

DuckWithOneWing · 09/10/2025 19:30

I'm so pleased! I've raised £1000 for the air ambulance so far. On Sunday I'm doing it all again at the Royal Parks Half Marathon. Then after that I'm aiming for a full marathon in April (not London).

Sunshineandrainbow · 10/10/2025 06:38

Congratulations @DuckWithOneWing that's amazing!

Plodding along here. Trying hard not to spiral while I am home along as could easily sit and scoff all the high calorie stuff.
Making sure I have a proper dinner with lots of veg and not snack my way through the evening.

ShinyPikachu · 10/10/2025 07:34

Hi all! Sorry I’ve not been around. Health issues have been worse than ever and I even had a cancer scare (thankfully it wasn’t) but it’s all meant my mental health spiralled quite a lot and I had to stay away from the scales and just focus on making sure I ate something each day even if it was crap.

I’m still not quite ready to get back on the scales but I’m starting to eat healthier again at least so hopefully I’ll be back with you all soon.

Sunshineandrainbow · 10/10/2025 09:34

@ShinyPikachu so glad it wasn't but incredibly scary I imagine. Be gentle with yourself and take it easy,

peonym · 16/10/2025 08:34

Sending you positive thoughts @ShinyPikachu- you’re on the right track and I’m glad your cancer scare turned out ok!

ShinyPikachu · 02/01/2026 13:14

Hello all, how are you all doing? Hopefully we can get this going again as I really appreciate the support and accountability we had for each other before.

I’m pleased to say I’m coming to 2026 with much better mental health than I had last time I posted. I thought I was doing ok then everything went haywire again.

I’m not calorie tracking yet but everyone listened to me when I asked for no chocolate or sweets for Christmas, and I only gained 1lb in that time and I’ve lost 3lb over new year!

I’m thinking intermittent fasting will be my first step this year. I did ok when I did 14/10 before and from that I’ll move to tracking calories again.

My main goal this year is to try to get some mobility back. With my health issues I’ll never be out running a marathon but I’d like to be able to walk to the shops and home again without feeling like my body is totally breaking.

So little steps for me and hopefully some familiar faces and some new ones will join us on the journey this year.

Hi everyone, I took the plunge and started mounjaro back in September. I am down 3 stone from my heaviest, and about 2.5 stone since starting MJ. I finally feel like I'm not obsessing about food all the time.

For the first time ever, a healthy weight seems a possibility this year.

I hope everyone is doing really well! I know we have a long way to go, but let's keep going!

Sunshineandrainbow · 03/01/2026 10:08

Morning everyone

I have struggled over Christmas but ready to jump back in with calorie counting and maybe some meal replacement shakes thrown in too.

I turn 50 this year and I need to feel better 🙂

iwentjasonwaterfalls · 07/01/2026 14:21

Hi all, jumping back in as I was previously on this thread, then it all went to shit and I ended up the heaviest I've ever been, now firmly back on it and seeing losses already:

Heaviest weight: 21st 5lbs (Christmas 2025)
Starting weight: 21st 3lbs (January 1st 2026)
Current weight: 21st
Total lost: 3lbs

I am enjoying the routine of being back at work it definitely helps me.

DuckWithOneWing · 19/01/2026 15:23

Hi everyone! I'm currently in the middle of marathon training and thinking about how much my life has changed. I heard someone say that all running journeys start with "I couldn't even run a mile", but in my case it started with "I was nearly 23 stone and couldn't even walk to the end of the road without getting out of breath".

Hope everyone is doing ok. I found routine was really helpful too @Sunshineandrainbow as I just eat/do the same thing every day.

peonym · 05/05/2026 12:45

Hi everyone! Not sure if this is a ghost thread now, but couldn’t see a part 4.

how are we all doing? who have we left at this stage?!

I’ve had a little baby boy, my 3rd (and last!) and am ready now to get back to the weight loss. I had to have a c section so my exercise plan has gone out the window. But hopefully I’ll get there later this year. Aim is to do a 10k in September, all being well!

would love to hear from anyone still floating about and see if we can motivate ourselves pre summer.

ShinyPikachu · 05/05/2026 13:16

I’m still here but my health hasn’t been the best again so while I’m trying to eat well I’m struggling a lot with even going shopping for things so weight has been up and down again depending on that.
