2 Stone Slimmer For Summer - a thread for those with lots to lose

RedDoughnut · 01/04/2024 11:54

Here we go! This is our third 2 stones off thread.

I did really well in 2 stones off for Xmas, less good in the Easter thread.

I found having an end date in sight meant I could focus on the date rather than than the monumental amount of weight I needed to lose

End date for this thread is 15th July which will roughly tie in with school holidays. 15 weeks from today.

Welcome to anyone new who wants to join and to anyone who has been involved in either of the two previous threads.
Im not starting until tomorrow

I'd also like to ask that everyone adds one element of self care that they don't usually have time for. I'm going to start using a specific cream for my eyes. Maybe by summer that will also show a difference?

I would like to join, I always struggle during the long school holiday so would be good to lose a chunk before then.

Started 1/1/24 at 243lbs
Now 1/4/24 at 225lbs
Target 15/7/24 208lbs

Gummibärchen · 03/04/2024 18:51

Oh aqua aerobics sounds like fantastic fun, @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain - how many times a week do you go?

Hank86 · 03/04/2024 19:13

Hello! Rejoining this one after falling off the wagon 3 weeks before Easter on the last thread.
Will weigh on Monday and post the starting stats. Well done to everyone who is still going!!

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 03/04/2024 19:25

Only manage once a week @Gummibärchen, the other classes are daytime and I can't make it work around meetings.

Cornishbelle · 03/04/2024 19:41

Can I join please? Will weigh properly Monday but I'm around the 14.5 stone mark. Most I've been for a while! Currently battling hormonal weight gain and peri symptoms so my plan is to get generally more active and to limit/cut out wheat and dairy to see if that helps with inflammation.

My self care is a weekly home manicure- aiming for a home facial and foot smoothing too.

QuirkyBrickSwan · 03/04/2024 19:51

Can I join! Have been struggling since 2020 and have gradually gained almost 20kg. Really need accountability. Am looking to get over 10000 steps daily as my self care.

currently 81kg
goal 70kg
am short but tracking and a calorie deficit works so will aim for 1300cal per day!

lifestooshorttodickaboutwithaubergines · 03/04/2024 20:30

Hello all! Would love to join as I’m so so miserable at my current weight of 14st 10.5lbs. It’s the heaviest I’ve ever been and it’s really taking its toll on my body - I ache constantly, have no physical strength, no energy and feel so tired all the time.
15th July will be my 37th birthday and I absolutely want to have made some changes by then. I go away in August for my first abroad holiday in quite a few years and don’t want to spend the run-up agonising about what I’ll look like and how shitty I will feel. I need to see this as a long-term thing rather than a quick fix. My self-care will be to make sure I cleanse my skin and brush my teeth properly before sleep as I very often just fall into bed without doing it.
So I’ll set my target for my birthday at 13st and see how I get on.

socks1107 · 03/04/2024 21:52

I've stuck to 1500 calories today, and walked 15k steps

Eumie · 04/04/2024 07:39

I had a good day yesterday, I stuck to my calorie target and I went to yoga. It’s an intense class and the first one I’ve been too where we work on head stands and inversions. I’m feeling sore this morning, but I did discover that I can easily get my palms to the floor when I touch my toes!

I’m in the office today, which means I’ve got my packed lunch. Although does mean I’m likely to be temped by biscuits and fancy coffee from the shop!

Once my partner starts their new job I’m hoping to get back into Pole Fitness, I did it a few years ago and it was so much fun and a brilliant workout.

Jelliclecats · 04/04/2024 08:31

Ended up having a bowl of porridge and a bowl of vegetarian stew yesterday. Felt nauseous all day which was unpleasant. Today, I’m going to try frequent small drinks of water if it starts. Weighed myself and I’m 3lb down from whenever I last weighed myself - 14st 1.8. I’ll be overjoyed to get under 14 as I’ve really struggled for months going up and down the same stone.

Today’s plan is a slow dog walk, maybe some gardening, and porridge and stew again with maybe ryvita with cheese/marmite if I can manage.

spinningpenguin · 04/04/2024 10:11

I upped my kcal target a lil bit as the one suggested by the app is simply not manageable. This means it will take me longer to lose weight but I'm hoping is going to pay off long-term. Yesterday I didn't exceed daily limit, had smoked salmon with boiled veg and potatoe croquets for lunch, dinner was homemade vegetable spring tart. Today overnight oats for lunch, dinner will probably be beef steak with some veg and grapefruit for dessert, some nuts and black espresso for breakfast.

afrikat · 04/04/2024 10:37

Urgh I'm fed up. I'm doing Fast 800. In the past 10 days my weight hasn't budged a single lb. I haven't gone above 1000 cals, super low carb, 16:8, 10000 steps a day, 3x workouts a week (45 minutes weights, 30 minutes cardio). Why am I not losing??

Alwaysdieting · 04/04/2024 10:48

I will join too though not starting til Mon as have lots of stuff going on until then.
so I will weigh myself on Monday morning. My self care will be to walk every day.

RedDoughnut · 04/04/2024 10:56

I have asked the exercise board if I should get one of these....

Love to join. I'll need some motivation tips please.
I've tried everything known to man.

Hi I'm from the old thread .

Started diet 11 / 02 / 24

SW 16st 1.5lbs
CW 14 st 9lbs

Total loss 20.5 lbs = 7 weeks

That's really impressive

kirinm · 04/04/2024 11:15

Back to work for me which definitely helps with food.

I am quite gutted that I have to cut my calories to a ridiculously low level to lose weight especially since I also do quite a lot of exercise.

NotSureILikeThisOne · 04/04/2024 12:30

I’ve weighed myself this morning, official starting weight is 81.7kg. I’ve been to the gym, started C25K on the treadmill, followed my a 20 minute swim. I did rubbish on the treadmill, I only managed to do about half the runs but I guess it’s better than nothing.

kirinm · 04/04/2024 12:32

Oh my self care stuff for the next few months - I finished C25K on Tuesday. I aim to build up to 5km and run 3 times a week.

  • keep going with strength training. I have PT twice a week and my trainer has leant me some weights and a kettlebell so I can do an extra session at home.

Exactly me , except 3 weeks. So frustrating

heartbrokenof · 04/04/2024 15:14

Currently fattest I have ever been at 232lbs. Would love to get down to 200 by my birthday in Aug so I will join!

How did you do this I am similar sw to you and would love to get that kind of loss in 7 weeks!

Walkingbkwrm · 04/04/2024 18:10

Hi guys!

I was on the Easter thread but fell off the wagon before Easter :(. Ready to try again but will start on Monday as that’s when the DC go back to school. Hoping I can keep it up for longer this time, being slightly lighter (and fitter) for the Summer sounds good.

For self care I’m going to start a plank challenge- not sure this counts as self care exactly as will also be a bit stressful to keep up but my core strength is shot and think improving it will make me feel better 🤞.

Stripyunicorn · 04/04/2024 18:35

Didn't get chance to update here yesterday because it was a bit busy after work.
Yesterday had yoghurt for breakfast, ham salad for lunch and a ham and cheese jacket potato for tea. I was planning on fish, but it smelt funny so didn't want to risk it. I also went to the gym after work yesterday (sore now!).
Today I've had yoghurt for breakfast, ham and spinach omelette for lunch and planning tempura chicken salad for tea. I'm feeling good so far.

RedDoughnut · 04/04/2024 21:21

This group seems a lot friendlier than the exercise board!
Blimey!
I was mostly told I was making excuses not to exercise.
Totally ignoring I'm busy with work and family.

However I did have a day off today and went swimming.
It's too far away to go usually but a nice treat.
And the water pressure in the showers there is amazing!
