2 Stone Slimmer For Summer - a thread for those with lots to lose

RedDoughnut · 01/04/2024 11:54

Here we go! This is our third 2 stones off thread.

I did really well in 2 stones off for Xmas, less good in the Easter thread.

I found having an end date in sight meant I could focus on the date rather than than the monumental amount of weight I needed to lose

End date for this thread is 15th July which will roughly tie in with school holidays. 15 weeks from today.

Welcome to anyone new who wants to join and to anyone who has been involved in either of the two previous threads.
Im not starting until tomorrow

I'd also like to ask that everyone adds one element of self care that they don't usually have time for. I'm going to start using a specific cream for my eyes. Maybe by summer that will also show a difference?

I’m following on from the Easter thread. I had lost 8kg from the end of January; and would like to lose another 13kg this thread.

I fell off the rails a bit yesterday and today! To be expected I suppose. Back to eating for health for me.

wow impressive, what did you different to lose 8kg?

chickpea1982 · 01/04/2024 21:00

I'd love to join this thread too. I'm about 190-195 lbs (86-88 kgs) at the moment, but have been bingeing a lot this last week so probably towards the higher end. I want to lose 30 lbs.

I had a baby (DC3) 7 months ago, and have struggled to lose the pregnancy weight. It's not exactly that life is hard - she's a delight, and I'm very happy - but more that I'm often very tired and have poor impulse control. I've been managing to lose weight VERY slowly over the past few months but it's not really enough - a bad week can put me back where I started. I know a lot about health and nutrition, but that doesn't necessarily translate into what I eat. I need to do something different but I'm not sure what. Any guidance would be appreciated!

mynamechangemyrules · 01/04/2024 21:01

I'd love to join in please! I don't have scales though! But know I'm easily 2 (probably 3!) stone overweight. Not sure on stones though I'm a kg person.

Will get scales tomorrow. Sort of wanted to avoid as ExH used to write my weight (def a solid 20kg lighter than now!) weekly on a board and give me tips on exercise and weight loss- kind of took the shine off everything fitness related tbh 😂 so have eaten only cheese and wine for several years post leaving him thinking it's some sort of control 😂😂 Slowly realising it's actually pretty miserable being unfit with a full time job and 3 kids.

Sorry for the life history! But I'm going to do it. 💪🏼

RedDoughnut · 02/04/2024 08:10

DH bought me an Easter Egg. He never buys me Easter Eggs.
However I ate it last night. I don't think there is much to tempt me from today.
I still have a few days off work. I'm not going to do anything special though.

So Day One for me. I've been hiding the scales. I know I've gained since my 3 stones loss. It's just a question of how much?

Thanks for the new thread @RedDoughnut and hope you’re in a better place now. I lost around a stone from 1 January, not the 2 I’d hoped for but I think it’s not going to be quick. I’m currently 11 st 8 and would like to get below 10 so will use this thread for inspiration from other posters.
I have a weight training programme at the gym and can see my thighs are getting firmer - I even managed to get into an old pair of jeans yesterday so that’s a big progress indicator. My weakness is wine. I need to really cut that out.

Crispsandchocolate4 · 02/04/2024 09:39

Ok I need to get on this and be serious this time! I was on the easter thread but just couldnt budge alot at all I got half a stone gone but my wedding is getting nearer and nearer and I would love to loose a minimum of another stone but Ideally 2!!

SW: 12.6
GW: 10.7

back to the gym this week also!! In regards to the self-care things I've gotten back into the Vitamin E Range at superdrug the hot cloth cleanser is just amazing and its really made me sort out my skincare routine!!

Good luck everyone!!

MercuryRising · 02/04/2024 09:58

Hi. Could I join you please? I weighed in at 185.4 lbs this morning. My target weight is 154. I would like to be 165 by my birthday in July but I'm unsure how realistic this is 🫤

wallpapercurious · 02/04/2024 12:59

Thanks @RedDoughnut for the new thread.

My diet has been gradually going off track the last few weeks, culminating in some chaotic eating over Easter weekend. Now I'm trying to reset with a house full of chocolate...

Today's weight: 79kg
Goal for 15 July: 70kg

WhamBamThankU · 02/04/2024 13:19

I lost a stone in January... and put it back on. I've got a big holiday end of June I want to slim down for so starting today! Lots of water, vegetables and protein for me. Cutting out snacks (crisps 😭) and cutting alcohol right down. Good luck everyone!

Emjem73 · 02/04/2024 13:27

I need to loose 3 stone. I am just focusing on the first stone at the moment, but 2 stones for the summer would be AMAZING!
SW- 13st4

spinningpenguin · 02/04/2024 16:59

Hope everyone is doing ok, my first day is on track so far, however Easter Chocolate is still in abundance and so, so hard to resist Blush

Teaformetoo · 02/04/2024 17:24

I would like to join too. Seem to yo-yo up and down between 11 stone (which is too heavy for my small frame and height) and 10 stone. I was happiest with my weight when I was under 10 stone. I usually follow low carb but every so often fall off and eat all the carbs under the sun (which now give me a tummy ache). Have tried really hard this week to get moving more as I have had a very sedentary year. Joining in the hope that it will motivate me to make healthy choices and move more. My self care is starting each morning with movement - currently on the cross trainer for 10-15 minutes each morning. Will be brave and weigh tomorrow morning.

Epli · 02/04/2024 17:30

I'd like to join!

I am currently doing a lot of Caroline Girvan + interval spring training and occasional yoga. I need to work on my diet though.

SW: 62.8kg
GW: 55.0kg

LolaJ87 · 02/04/2024 18:36

Rennypie03 · 01/04/2024 20:59

wow impressive, what did you different to lose 8kg?

I have a very high bmi so it’s not that impressive! I’m calorie counting and managing my sugar intake.

Stripyunicorn · 02/04/2024 19:19

Weighed today at 12 stone 9.4lb, which is quite a bit higher than expected! I thought about 12 stone 6lb tbh.

Today's I've had a yoghurt for breakfast, spinach and mushroom omelette for lunch, and having steak with jacket potato and veg for tea. Watermelon for snack.
On 2.4 L of water, plus a cup of tea for drinks.
Not intending on having anything else after tea, it's usually late evening snacks where I fall down.

Jelliclecats · 02/04/2024 19:26

Can I join please? I’ve four stone to lose still, it’s slow going at my age but at least I’ve managed to stop the constant eating that started with the menopause. I was ravenous all the time and piled it on so quickly.
Medication makes me have digestion/kidney issues so I have to take each day as it comes food wise…today I’ve managed a bowl of fruit & granola but can’t manage anything else apart from fluids.
Tomorrow I’m hoping to have some porridge and some bean and vegetable stew.

Self Care is going to be a new skincare regime. Oh and focus on adding moisture to my hair.

Henowner · 02/04/2024 19:29

Thanks Red Doughnut. I ended up losing around a stone, my weight now is 72kg so I would like to aim for a further 8kg to 64kg which will be well within my BMI target.

My self care is to learn the guitar and I aim to practice every day.

marshmallowmarzipan · 02/04/2024 21:07

I’ve not had an amazing day as away with work and grabbing food for convenience. Did go for a swim in the hotel though! And loads of water down.

TedWilson · 02/04/2024 21:57

Joining

Gummibärchen · 02/04/2024 22:08

I would love to join, if I may. I've lost a lot already on my own but still have 2.5st to go, and would welcome both support and accountability. I'm also perimeno and following an IF plan.
Self care: looking to develop creative skills, so have just started a 100 day writing challenge.

Philandbill · 02/04/2024 22:26

I'd like to join too please. No scales in the house but I know I weigh far too much. Health is part of the goal.

socks1107 · 02/04/2024 22:33

I've had a good day calorie wise and done my 10k steps. I usually do 18k on a work day but I've been off today so a bit less

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 02/04/2024 22:34

Hello, can I join you all too please? I'm on a few other weightloss threads and find it really helpful having people to bounce frustrations and ideas off of.

I started 1st Jan at 225 lb, am 40, 5ft 8in and had a BMI of 34.2 so firmly in the obese category.

Currently 200 lb, 25lb loss in 13 weeks and BMI is 30.4, just a few more lbs to move in to 'overweight'.

Have 36lb left to lose to get to 'healthy' BMI closer to 60 lbs to get to what the graphs and calculators say is the ideal weight for my height.

I am low carb due to insulin resistant PCOS and using MyFitnessPal to track my calories, with a target of 1670 a day.

I am also a spreadsheet junky so have a graph and all kinds of targets and formulas to keep me motivated.

toomanycushionshere · 02/04/2024 22:37

I’m in! I’m desperately unhappy with the weight I’ve put on since being on Sertraline. I’m slowly coming off that and ready to loose lots before I turn 40 in the summer!

SW: 15 Stone
GW: Anything starting with 12!

Self care I’d like to be starting yoga at home again.
