2 Stone Slimmer For Summer - a thread for those with lots to lose

RedDoughnut · 01/04/2024 11:54

Here we go! This is our third 2 stones off thread.

I did really well in 2 stones off for Xmas, less good in the Easter thread.

I found having an end date in sight meant I could focus on the date rather than than the monumental amount of weight I needed to lose

End date for this thread is 15th July which will roughly tie in with school holidays. 15 weeks from today.

Welcome to anyone new who wants to join and to anyone who has been involved in either of the two previous threads.
Im not starting until tomorrow

I'd also like to ask that everyone adds one element of self care that they don't usually have time for. I'm going to start using a specific cream for my eyes. Maybe by summer that will also show a difference?

Hi,

I'd like to join.

SW: 83 kg
GW: 70 kg

Just got a smart watch. Averaging 1000 steps a day so I reckon I only use up about 1500 calories a day. Will have to aim for 1000 intake a day as I hate exercise. Will try to go on some walks though.

Waffleson · 02/04/2024 22:47

Please can I join? I'm not sure I can lose 2 stone in 15 weeks, but I would be happy with 1 stone loss!
SW: 13 st 8
TW: 11 st 8

I'm going to cut down on tea, drink more water, and stop snacking on bread and cheese. For self care I'm going to do lots of walking. I'm recovering from an injury so I've been pretty inactive the last couple months.

custardlover · 03/04/2024 00:28

Well I had a very bad start including crème eggs but tomorrow is another day!

suka · 03/04/2024 07:58

Yesterday's accounts. I was doing an event with 40 odd under 3's so quite intense.

Good intentions but quite disordered eating. Arranged to have salad and falafel for dinner, didn't get a chance for breakfast or lunch, so while picking up salad bits on way home I managed to scoff an ENTIRE pack of salt and vinegar rice cakes (yes the pack of big rice cakes, not a packet of mini ones... almost 500 calories!) and because I was in starving mode after no food all day and intense toddler work, I also got a Krispy crème Confused
Fucks sake.

However I still appear to have outed more than I in'ed, so more focus on balance today!

@FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain I LOVE that you mentioned spreadsheets for motivation. Me too lol. Thought I was the only one 😂
Got to love a good spreadsheet!

Jelliclecats · 03/04/2024 09:28

It’s bitterly cold here, with a viscous wind. Am going to put a fire on soon, annoying so early in day in April but hey ho.
Going to be an indoors day but will easily resist overeating even when feeding my ravenous hoarde of children as feel nauseous today with my meds. Going to sip some hot water and see if I feel better. Might try to have some Bovril at lunchtime.

Just bitten the bullet and booked to start small group PT and a bootcamp once a week with a lovely local personal trainer. I used to go years ago before I went back to work full time and became a kids taxi service in my spare time. I'm going before work, so I can't use needing to take the kids somewhere as an excuse! Now I just need to work on my eating!

SW: 80kg

Like a lot of people I put on a fair bit of weight during Covid (drinking and cooking got me through it), then I was pregnant not long after. My DS is now 2 and a photo from his birthday party really shocked me with how chunky I looked! I’m hoping this thread will give me a bit of accountability!

What really gets me is that I’m probably the most active I’ve ever been, I do daily walks, weightlifting and yoga. I think that I’m eating way more than I think, and my drinking has crept up again. I’m going alcohol free this month, and I’m tracking my food with Nutri Check.

My self care thing is to do an evening skin care routine with my fancy skin oil and serum!

Teaformetoo · 03/04/2024 13:43

Bit the bullet and weighed. 10.13 1/2 so definitely got a good stone to lose. Weird though I put the weighing scales on the bath mat and it said 10.6 1/2 - wish I’d just done that one - would be feeling far happier! 😂

OkyDoke · 03/04/2024 14:25

Jumping back in here after falling off the previous thread.

Started 1/1/24 at 217.4 lbs
Now 1/4/24 at 208.2 lbs

Would obviously love 2 stone off, but I would be more than happy to have a number starting with 1 by summer!

Rememberthereasonswhy · 03/04/2024 14:29

May I join please? I have 25 kilos to lose and I think it will help me to divide it up in to chunks so thank you very much for this thread!

Going to think of an extra self care element to start with!

Andnowshesatoddler · 03/04/2024 14:36

Hello and Hi to all.
I have a starting weight of 16 stone 10 it's the heaviest I've ever been.
I've made a decision to start on wegovy - it'll either work because it's good or I'm too poor to buy rubbish now 😂😂
Going to do it along side healthy eating and cutting snacks.
I have a one year old daughter I can't pretend I'm going to manage to be on plan all the time rainy day activities often include cake with friends and 'mama juice' (coffee)
My element of self care is going to be time - I am going to care for myself by taking time to cook the veggies rather than chips in the air frier.
An excellent approach I have found from a dietician on YouTube - what can I add to a meal rather than take away? So she had waffles for Breckfast but added loads of fruit and peanut butter rather than deprived which IMO is a excellent idea.
My goal will be 1st June and 2 stone.

Gazelda · 03/04/2024 15:00

I'd like to join in please. I've got a few big events coming up, which I need to feel healthier for.

Currently 16st12lb.
I'd like to be 15st7lb by 1 July.

I've been to gym today, have booked to go back on Friday. Less easy to fit it in once work and school resumes, but I'm determined to find the time somehow.

Self care - weekly face mask and hair mask.

RedDoughnut · 03/04/2024 15:39

Welcome to those new to the thread.

I'm declaring Mondays as weigh in day.
Of course weigh whenever is convenient for you but let's report losses on Mondays if possible.

I made broccoli soup for lunch today. I was probably very over generous with the croutons but what works for me on a diet is a slow start. Once I see some losses I seem to get more determined.

If it ever stops raining I'm going for a walk.

Thank you RedDoughnut

I find a vegetable soup really helpful in the evening for weight loss. Have bought a soup maker for the process.

Mrblueskys · 03/04/2024 16:14

Hi can I join please. SW is 246 lbs. If I could get to 220lbs by the end of July it would a great start.

Andnowshesatoddler · 03/04/2024 16:43

That's a great idea about the soup, we've got a machine from about five years ago festering in the cupboard.

NotSureILikeThisOne · 03/04/2024 17:12

Please can I join too? I managed to lose a bit last year and got down to 75kg when I went on holiday in May. Unfortunately, I’ve gained more than I lost and I’m now about 82kg (will weigh myself in the morning). I want to get back to 75kg for when I go on holiday on 24 May (so I can fit in the holiday clothes I bought for last year). I work in a school so I’m splitting my targets based on school holidays.

SW 82kg
TW1 24/5 75kg
TW2 19/7 70kg
Overall target 60kg

sickofbuilders · 03/04/2024 17:21

Joining!

Gummibärchen · 03/04/2024 17:31

Has anyone taken up any unusual sports/active hobbies of late? I've just learned to rollerblade - I'm only aged 46-and-three-quarters, lol! 😂

Nocturna · 03/04/2024 17:56

SW 14.12
TW 11.12

Self care - daily stretching routine due to lower back and knee issues

Good luck everyone!

Not sure how unusual it is but I go to aqua aerobics. At a mere 40 yrs old I'm one of the youngest in class but it's great fun. Lots of singing along to old pop songs as we run round the pool or use the foam weights to do boxing moves.
