2 Stone Slimmer For Summer - a thread for those with lots to lose

RedDoughnut · 01/04/2024 11:54

Here we go! This is our third 2 stones off thread.

I did really well in 2 stones off for Xmas, less good in the Easter thread.

I found having an end date in sight meant I could focus on the date rather than than the monumental amount of weight I needed to lose

End date for this thread is 15th July which will roughly tie in with school holidays. 15 weeks from today.

Welcome to anyone new who wants to join and to anyone who has been involved in either of the two previous threads.
Im not starting until tomorrow

I'd also like to ask that everyone adds one element of self care that they don't usually have time for. I'm going to start using a specific cream for my eyes. Maybe by summer that will also show a difference?

🎉🎉 Reached the challenge goal weight which was great timing as our schools break up here on Friday.
Just under 5 weeks until we head away on our uk holiday so hoping for a few more pounds off for that.
On the downside just this week I have been told I have gallstones, a fatty liver and am pre diabetic!! So that’s been a lot to get my head around. I’m trying not to let it get to me and just carry on doing what I’m doing, but upset this is all happening just as I’m getting control of my weight and health.
At barely over 5ft I still have a long way to go.
Hope everyone’s had a good week

I haven’t lost this week but not surprised as I lost lots earlier in the month.

@Namerequired well done on smashing your target weight 🎉
I got gall stones a couple of years ago after a losing lots of weight quickly. My lovely doctor told me I had the four F risk factors. Fat, female, fertile and in my forties.Might not apply to you but I loved how honest she was.

I've lost 4lbs this week with my sickness

I have set my new goal weight. I suspect I'll put some weight back on once I start eating properly so have set it at 65kg to be realistic and accepting that I will likely plateau too at some point

Thank you. Yes that all applies to me too lol.
Looks like you have reached goal for the thread too. Well done 🎉 It feels good! Lots more to go though 😅

ItRainsItPours · 24/06/2024 17:20

Lots more to go, yes and I’m really noticing it in this hot weather too. Nothing makes you feel worse than trying get things done whilst dripping with sweat. How did it go from pouring rain to heatwave without a break?

2lbs off this week, I think the hot weather has helped curb my appetite as all I want is water and lollies. Though my ‘d’s ate jammy toast at 10pm last night sat next to me on the sofa. I was toying with either strangling him or getting myself some but managed to resist.

HappyKatieA · 29/06/2024 17:30

How is everyone doing on this thread? I'm still chipping away, 32.6lbs loss, really starting to notice the difference now. I'm hoping it will be 42lbs by the time we go on holiday at the beginning of August, but I'm not sure I'll get there.

socks1107 · 02/07/2024 08:05

I've stayed the same this week which is fine as my body has been recovering from four days food poisoning and likely holding onto all it can get!

I have had a holiday in there where I've gained 6lb and lost that again

90kg

Still won't be where I need to be but baby steps.

2lb on this week 🙈 A bad week of eating and drinking, but it was fun lol 😝

ItRainsItPours · 02/07/2024 11:16

Well done on all the weight loss, some great stats on here. I have lost 2 lbs this week so still plugging away with two weeks left on this challenge.

WinterStar1 · 02/07/2024 18:49

Well guys nowhere near the 2 stone loss that I've had from the previous threads, but I've kept at it, chipping away and I will take the 1 stone loss. Weight loss has slowed down and over the last few months I've been away for a few weekends, so admittedly I've sometimes taken my eye off the ball, but I'm going to take this as a win. This means I've now lost just over 5 stone since the 2 stone for Christmas thread last year.... loved being able to check in and see how everyone was getting on. Good luck ❤️

Current Loss - 1.3kg
Total loss - 7.7kg
Target loss - 13kg

ItRainsItPours · 03/07/2024 07:57

Wow @WinterStar1 5 stone loss is fantastic.

I am trying to keep on track, though a few late nights this week are making it harder. I am like a dormouse asleep in the corner by 9pm nowadays.

Seaitoverthere · 04/07/2024 08:43

Well done @WinterStar1 , brilliant!

Tried to stay the same this week, lost a pound which was what I should have lost last week but put on 0.2lb. Have hip replacement next week so am not having calorie deficit for the 2 weeks previous.

Since I started medication weight loss is painfully slow but it has at least started again after weight going up then stalling. I’ve lost 6.6lbs in the 18 weeks I have started meds. I think if I hadn’t have been actively trying to put lose weight I would now have a 6lb gain which is in line with what some people online are saying they gained on it.

Total loss since start of November is 2.5 stone. If I can manage another half stone by start of November to make it 3 stone in a year I will be happy and then will keep at it after that . Probably not going to weigh myself for a bit as have read of quite a few people saying they have put on weight after surgery with the fluids and swelling so will carry on recording on Nutracheck and trust in time it will level out . And in a few weeks time I will hopefully be walking daily again which should help and once scar is healed I can get in the pool.

socks1107 · 04/07/2024 15:14

So I hit the three stone mark today.
I'm in total denial that I've achieved this but I feel so good in myself!

I do really need another stone off but I'm pretty pleased to be sitting on a loss that I dreamt of this time last year and I know the next stone is easily achievable now.

And how did you do it?

socks1107 · 04/07/2024 17:30

It's taken me six months. I've stuck to 1800 calories a day, although reduced to 1600 just this week. And I walk 18k steps a day and swim twice a week.
I still like my wine on a Saturday so stick to 2200 calories on a weekend and always swim one of the days.

It's made a difference of a dress size but think I'm starting to creep into a twelve now but the upper end. Haven't found it difficult at all either but my mindset had shifted to a determination and I was mentally in the right place

WinterStar1 · 04/07/2024 18:56

Well done @socks1107 that's a great loss 👏.

@ItRainsItPours it can be so hard to keep on track at times, I've been derailing quite a bit over the last few months, but just kept chipping away ❤️

@Seaitoverthere medication can be a pain when it comes to weight loss, but like you say stick with it and the scales do eventually move again. Good luck with the op 💪

1800 calories at day, 15k steps a day and a swim twice a week.
I ate 2200 calories at a weekend.

I really think the walking has helped more than I realised it would and it's all for my job so easy to do daily ( I started in January so good timing!)

I've just reduced to 1600 calories a day this week to push through the last stone
