2 Stone Slimmer For Summer - a thread for those with lots to lose

RedDoughnut · 01/04/2024 11:54

Here we go! This is our third 2 stones off thread.

I did really well in 2 stones off for Xmas, less good in the Easter thread.

I found having an end date in sight meant I could focus on the date rather than than the monumental amount of weight I needed to lose

End date for this thread is 15th July which will roughly tie in with school holidays. 15 weeks from today.

Welcome to anyone new who wants to join and to anyone who has been involved in either of the two previous threads.
Im not starting until tomorrow

I'd also like to ask that everyone adds one element of self care that they don't usually have time for. I'm going to start using a specific cream for my eyes. Maybe by summer that will also show a difference?

I had a strange weighing experience this morning it went like this:
First weigh: 13st 4.5
Second weigh: 13st 4.5
Third weigh: 13 st 1
Fourth, fifth and sixth weigh: 13 st 1

Anyway I'm taking the lower weight and running with it, as that's a 2lb loss!!

SW: 13 st 8
CW: 13 st 1
TW: 11st 8

I'm a quarter of the way there.

JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods · 13/05/2024 20:12

Please can I join you?
I need to lose 3st and really need some accountability and encouragement.

WinterStar1 · 13/05/2024 21:28

Well after last week's loss I managed to.lose 1kg this week, but seriously think that's just the last couple of weeks settling down.

I was out with friends on Saturday, didn't stress about what I was eating and drinking, just enjoyed the time with my friends and got back on track yesterday.

I can honestly say this is the first time in my adult life where I am losing weight and not stressing about day/nights out. Before I would either not go out or if I did stress over the bad choices I had made and felt that I had "blew" my week. Calorie counting really has been an eye opener for me.

Current Loss - 1kg
Total loss - 3.9kg
Target loss - 13kg

Waffleson · 13/05/2024 21:41

Welcome @JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods

Well done on your loss @WinterStar1

Let's stick to it for another week!

HappyKatieA · 14/05/2024 17:24

I'm just checking in for week four weigh in.

SW: 16st 2lbs
CW: 15st .04lbs
Loss this week: 2.4lbs

I'm going to do this! Booked a holiday this week, we're going on our 20th Wedding Anniversary, so I've got a reason.
That will be week 14, so I will hopefully have lost 3st by then!

socks1107 · 14/05/2024 20:18

I stayed the same this week but expected that.
I did some comparison photos and I was very shocked!!

wallpapercurious · 14/05/2024 22:49

I've been AWOL for a few weeks (or maybe more). I got quite badly off track after Easter but in the last couple of weeks I've started seeing a PT and am firmly back on course!

Weight in Jan: 82.9kg
Weight today: 77.3kg
New goal for 15 July: 73kg (based on 0.5kg a week)

bfsham · 16/05/2024 22:18

So hard, have lost a grand total of 0.5 pounds in past 2 weeks but at least my weight now starts with a 14 instead of 15 stone.

SW 2/1/24-16 stones

CW 16/5/2024-14 stones 13.5 lbs

GW-is to get from 'overweight' to 'normal range BMI' so upper range of that for me is 13 stone 4 pounds (am 6 foot tall).

Loss=1 stone 0.5 pounds

afrikat · 17/05/2024 09:10

I've had zero loss for 10 days then suddenly today I was down over 2lb, which makes 32lbs overall. 3lbs until healthy BMI, 17lbs until goal weight 🙏

Namerequired · 17/05/2024 21:28

I can’t even think of a healthy range atm. I’m only 5’1 so my healthy is in the 8s and I’m high 15st11. Seems an unreachable goal at this stage

Just give yourself little goals, maybe the first half stone. Work on that then set the next little goal. Slowly it will come off and you will start getting towards that healthy range ❤️

bfsbham · 18/05/2024 14:07

BMI now 28.3
Just a reminder to myself that I have to keep
going to under 25 don’t allow myself to relapse to over 30 again. (After just having eaten a Cadbury’s chocolate ice cream 😉)

socks1107 · 19/05/2024 11:28

I've lost 2lb this week. Am firmly into a dress size down and the next stone bracket! And am .7 off my first goal.

Sw 87.9
Cw 75.7
Gw 75

ItRainsItPours · 19/05/2024 18:50

SW 1/1/24 at 17st 5
CW 19/05/24 at 15st 4
GW 15/7/24 14st 12

I am well on my way towards my goal. The last couple of months have been spiky, no loss for two weeks then suddenly 3lbs loss this week. It just shows how unimportant the scales can be. How is everyone getting on, I can’t remember if there is a usual weigh in day?

Eumie · 20/05/2024 06:25

So I’ve maintained this week, which is disappointing, but not unexpected. I had a really tough week last week and had a takeaway. I also went to the county show and had a lot of delicious food and drink.

Losing weight is so frustrating. Since Jan I’ve doubled my activity levels, and since April I’ve been logging and weighing everything. Yet my loses seem to be minimal!

toomanydiets · 20/05/2024 08:15

I've stuffed myself up totally on holiday- was so pleased with the weight loss so far that I ate freely and drank lots! Don't dare get on the scales yet - going to have a week of trying really hard so I don't get too negative and give up- but my clothes are telling me it's not good news.

Just another reminder that it's a long long marathon. And I have a long way to go!

ItRainsItPours · 20/05/2024 08:19

@toomanydiets I always gain weight on holiday but find weight that has gone on quickly can also come off just as quickly. My advice is weigh yourself, tell yourself the gain was worth it for the enjoyment of the holiday, then get back on track and watch it melt off. If you wait a week or two to weigh in you may get discouraged by having no loss, where actually you will have gained and lost iyswim.

afrikat · 20/05/2024 08:42

I had drinks on Saturday and ate some sushi (I'm usually low carb). I am 7lbs up today from Friday. 7lbs!! Now I know it's not 'real' weight but wtaf

Waffleson · 20/05/2024 12:28

I'm really pleased today as I've broken the 13 stone barrier and lost 2.5 lbs
SW: 13st 8
CW: 12st 13
TW: 11st 8

I'm a third of the way there!

I'm also not aiming for "healthy" BMI, I'm aiming for the bottom of the "overweight" category. I've been top of normal/bottom of overweight for most of my life and I felt healthy there. Recently when I reached the very top of "overweight" I could really the tell the difference and I felt I was damaging my health. I'll be happy with bottom of overweight.

That can’t be real weight! Hopefully it shows off again soon xx

SW February: 17st 13
Sw for challenge: 16st 12
CW: 15st 6
GW for challenge 14st 12

5lb off this week 🎉🎉 Delighted! I was really good Monday to Friday then let it slip a little Saturday, and then had a Chinese and ice cream yesterday 🙈 So I hope I’m not going to pay for that later.
I absolutely walked the legs of myself this week though. I have went from doing a 1/2km on flat ground and struggling with it to doing over 3 miles one evening last week (Still struggling) and getting my 15,000 steps daily.

WinterStar1 · 20/05/2024 21:34

Just a wee 0.5kg for me this week, but it all adds up in the end. Going on holiday in Friday so not holding out any hope for next week. But I am going into this holiday 6 stone lighter than the one in August, so I will take that 🌞

Current Loss - 0.5kg
Total loss - 4.4kg
Target loss - 13kg

HappyKatieA · 21/05/2024 17:50

Evening all
I'm here for my weigh in:

Week 5, lost 3.6lbs, taking it to 19.4lbs in total.

I thought I might have put on this week, so I'm delighted!

Andnowshesatoddler · 21/05/2024 19:57

SW 107.9kg 7th April
Current 98.8kg 21st may
Gw 78kg initially
Then reassess

bfsham · 23/05/2024 07:46

23/5/24

Lost another 0.5 pound this week. I've been to the gym 4 times though which seems to be curbing my appetite a bit. Maybe it's the heavy weights?

SW 2/1/24-16 stones

CW 23/5/24=14 stones 13

GW-is to get from obese (done that) and then from 'overweight' to 'normal range BMI' so upper range of that for me is 13 stone 4 pounds (am 6 foot tall).

Loss=1 stone 1 pounds
