I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

@Investinmyself I do feel ok. I’m not going to lie and say I’ve got bundles of energy, but I work from home and I’m ok.

It’s 4pm and today I have just eaten 300g of blueberries and two slices of roast chicken. :/ it’s been busy work wise. But I will make sure I get nutrients in tonight. The idea of eating a “normal” meal just isn’t there at all.

I didn’t have the most ordered eating before this anyway.

Mortigua · 14/03/2024 16:06

Im worried I’m not actually losing . Realistically I know it must be that I just haven’t cut enough calories despite cutting my food intake in what must be in half - I am still drinking wine and then not really always being as mindful of extra bits . I also know it works best a day or two in for me and I know I’m not active enough . I am freaking out a bit today that I am going to self sabotage yet again

Wonkypictureframe · 14/03/2024 16:07

I’ve had vegetable soup for lunch one day and dinner was gammon, cauli cheese, carrots and roast potatoes. Tiny portion. And then a bit of cheese for pudding.

Lunch today was a small portion of dinner leftovers. Dinner will be chicken stew with mushrooms, kale and sprouting broccoli.

Loads of water and a cup of coffee.

CiderJabs · 14/03/2024 16:31

@Mortigua I find that some form of willpower is still required. I don't have much of an appetite but I could eat crisps everyday. So I'm trying to eat decent stuff when I do eat.
I also think giving up the booze temporarily would be a massive step forward! Could you manage that?

I feel so thirsty I don't even know what to do! I feel I'm thirsty as I'm drinking water!!! It's the only thing I'm struggling with.

FlappyFish · 14/03/2024 16:43

I’m with you all on the water. I drink a lot anyway. I’m over 8 years sober and i permanently have a pint glass of water on the go. Even with that I feel thirsty alllllll the time.

I don’t seem to need any willpower. Food just has no interest for me at all. I’m not sure if part of it is the fact I’m noticeably losing weight. I’ve just updated MFP with pictures from years back and it’s actually scary! I weigh the least amount I have in years.

kitz90 · 14/03/2024 16:59

Week 1. Day 5 for me today.

I’ve had cravings for the first time and just gave in to some chocolate.

It hasn’t led to a full on binge which snacking usually does so that’s positive. I am really tired right now so that’s maybe a factor plus the injection wearing off.

Hope everyone is doing well x

Mortigua · 14/03/2024 17:11

I think I will have to give up drinking temporarily if I’m going to see change realistically . I am calorie counting but often think oh sod it when wine is involved and that’s my downfall . It’s a very unhealthy coping mechanism.
So many bad habits . I am finding the lack of hunger odd - I have no thoughts of food a lot of the time so I can manage it and plan healthier meals and also portion control and exercise willpower much better when it comes to food . And the water - yes I’m so thirsty ! And so tired .
god I hope the scales move again soon . Realistically I’ve lost half a stone in two weeks (and only had the actual injection a week) it’s not bad at all but it’s similar so far for me to slimming world so I need to work with it not find ways to sabotage my efforts.
i am aware I am not making much sense !

YouAreEffluentKim · 14/03/2024 17:56

I have low carbed a lot in the past (always fell off the wagon, obviously!) and the experience of water not being wet enough is really familiar! I find I'm not thirsty as such, but my mouth is craving water. I wonder if the effects of MJ are similar to ketosis - the need for more water, reduced appetite, not thinking about food because not hungry, levelling out of blood sugar etc. Constipation for some, too.

Has anyone else that has low carbed thought the same?

Onedaylikethi5 · 14/03/2024 18:04

My menu today:

dairy free yogurt, berries, one tablespoon of granola

Two raw carrots, two stalks of celery, a small portion of hummus

cheeseburger salad (made my own burger from lean steak mince, with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, gherkins, cucumber and sliced pickled onions)

I am feeling very full but calories are low. Focus is on protein and all the fruit and veggies. I’m forcing myself to eat three meals to help me in making long term change.

izzy2076 · 14/03/2024 18:06

Day 3 done. Ate more today. Stomach got hungry but my head really wasn't arsed with food. I'm surprised I still have a physical appetite on day 3 on 5mg. I'm going back down to 2.5 next week and wonder if that will work at all considering my response to my double dosing the first dose?

spamm · 14/03/2024 18:29

I am generally focused on eating 3 healthy meals a day, when I want them. Often, on day 1, 2 or 3 after the injection, I only have 2 meals.

And then healthy snacks for the weird days when I am hungry. Nuts, fruit, protein yoghurts.

My favorite repeat meal is baked chicken thighs, with asparagus and maybe baked carrots. Or roasted Brussel sprouts and lots of Korean pickled radishes and kimchi. I am definitely cutting back on empty carbs as I know it helps with my diabetes and inflammation.

I always have baked chicken thighs, protein yoghurts and protein shakes/ plain yoghurt with protein powder in the fridge, so I can make quick meals. Some new meals added to rotation: savory egg bites (mainly breakfast), chicken sausage air fried with peppers and onion, baked salmon and asparagus. I am eating between 850 and 1200 calories most days, with the occasional 1,400 day when hungry. Very little alcohol - I just don't fancy it right now. And my water consumption has gone down, I just can't do more than about 1.5liters, but that is likely because I was drinking so much with my diabetes going a bit wild before.

The most surprising is how consistent I am able to be so far.

izzy2076 · 14/03/2024 18:43

My menu today:

Breakfast: One slice toast and jam (before I wasn't able to eat this for breakfast as it didn't touch the sides)

Lunch One Pret salmon protein bowl one grenade protein bar

Dinner: huel with frozen berries.

Just under 1400 cals.

NextPrimeMinister · 14/03/2024 18:51

The bit I don't understand, is I was under the impression that if you didn't eat enough your body would go into 'starvation mode' and stop weight loss. Is that an old wives tale?

I'm eating very little, but still 3 times a day. Can you actually not eat enough to lose weight?

ObsidianTree · 14/03/2024 19:01

So I started today! Had my first shot at 12pm. Absolutely no side affects and I have still had my evening binge :( I just can't stop eating once I start :( hoping tomorrow I might get a bit more of an effect? I have lost 6 stone on slimming world twice 🤣🤣 im now 19 stone and the biggest I've ever been so this is it for me!

ObsidianTree · 14/03/2024 19:09

Hey all, I haven't been on today and realized we were on page 39! So link about for new thread before this fills up!

Well don't for this that have lots of great losses! Very encouraging

Welcome all the new starters! Our numbers are growing loads!

Loving the meals chat, it's good to know what people are eating. I think I eat too much and need to cut down more to lose. Next week I will aim to cut down my carbs and possibly reduce my calories more.

If that was really true no one in Africa would ever die of malnutrition.

I don't know why that theory is talked about or exactly what happens in your body when you eat less calories than you expend other that you burn your fat reserves but low cal diets do work.

CiderJabs · 14/03/2024 20:52

@NextPrimeMinister that's a myth! Otherwise nobody would lose weight on those VLCD where you eat 400 cals a day!

sassygirlx · 14/03/2024 22:16

So...last year I was on Ozemoic and lost two stone. One stone has gone back on....
The shortages happened and I couldn't get hold of it other than at a hefty price.

I tried Wegovy but weirdly no appetite suppression, and no weight has been lost...

So I've just been approved for Mounjaro

Fingers crossed!

Saturday Night Live Drinking GIF by Global TV

Woke up this morning sick as a dog! Thought of food not appealing whatsoever! Usually bolt home from the school run for breakfast but not today 🫣 also dry mouth! Took my first shot yesterday!

KeepingUndercover · 15/03/2024 09:51

Should we fill this thread up before we properly move over to the new one? Day 5 here and it’s definitely having an effect but I’d say a small one so far. My appetite is reduced and my snacking has basically stopped. Yesterday was weird where I felt hungry a lot but then when I ate I wasn’t really. I think the problem might have been that I was anticipating not feeling hungry so I had a late breakfast that was quite light and then didn’t have lunch. And then my body was just a bit confused by itself. So today I’ve had breakfast at a normal time, fruit & yogurt with a few nuts, and I’ll plan to eat my meals as normal and see if that helps.

Long term I think aiming to eat 3 balanced meals a day is probably better for me as I really want to make healthy eating a habit so I’m increasing the chances of me being able to keep the weight off.

Beesbeesbeesbees · 15/03/2024 13:16

Quick question - I injected today but it was so painful so I did half the liquid and then took out and injected again and pushed the remaining half in, no pain at all! Will it matter that I did the injection in 2x halves?! Thanks!

No it will be absolutely fine. Interesting that is was painful though. Perhaps it was going into a muscle.

Beesbeesbeesbees · 15/03/2024 14:27

Thank you! Yes, really surprising, other 3x totally fine and I'm a veteran as done rounds of ivf. Sure it was just a one off. When I took it out and re injected it was fine, as usual!

oaode · 15/03/2024 15:09

Now on week 3 of 2.5 dose
Have lost 2.6kg in 9 days. Hurray
The appetite suppression has really kicked in and so has the bloating. Aloe Vera tablets overnight seem to help. So all you lovelies out there be encouraged.

PS. Has anyone bought from Bolt , is it reliable and not dubious as I hear it is the cheapest at about £159?
